Enjoying an almost spring day

Thursday, January 06, 2011

It feels like spring outside and everyone's moods are much lighter today. The snow is
melting and the sidewalks are clearing off nicely. Just a sign that more snow is to come
this weekend. Time will tell since the weather can change so quickly.
Other changes take time. It takes 30 days to form a habit so any change I make will
take time to become a habit. Some habits are easier and sadly, some are harder.
I am clearing out old files in the office. It's the time of the year to clear out the old and
make room for the new.
It is the same with SP! Time to rethink and reevaluate the old goals, add some new
ones and maybe start a new habit. I would like to say I am getting up earlier to go
for a morning walk but 5:30 is early enough when it is still dark outside. The snow
and ice really discourage walking until the sun comes out.
So I am trying to fit all my ST in earlier in the day. I had been in the habit of doing it at
night so maybe this is my new habit.
Look for new possibilities and opportunities to make a small and subtle change that
down the road will become a new habit. We all can do it. It just takes a little work and
a little time. We are ALL worth it so let's start now.
Thanks for reading and commenting. The support here has been so great that I know
my friends are always close by. HUGS and have a great evening!

Hope you get to enjoy a couple nice days. Even in Fl it was yukky today-we got some much needed rain overnite and today was damp and overcast - didn't feel like the 65 it said it was.
Thanks for reminding me I need to get my home files cleaned out!
Have a great weekend.

Spring is just around the corner......just need to walk a long way to get to that corner.
Because there is a time difference from area to area could it be spring someplace else? emoticon

Success Happens to Those Who Fail

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

Sooner or later, we fail. Just a part of human nature. We are good at some things and
others, well, we find we need to do better. Success happens when we work at a goal,
learn from our mistakes and keep trying.
I have tried and failed at a few things in my life and I am sure there will be more failures
in the future. Have I learned from my failures? Yes, indeed! Did the failures stop me
from trying again? Guess again. I examined my failures and why they happened and
resolved to try a different way of doing the task until I successfully completed it.
The process was one of try, try again.
So, my SPark friends, look at your failures as a chance to grow, a chance to do it
better the next time and in the end, find success. You'll have learned something
about yourself in the process and grown as a person.
HUGS to all and here's to a wonderful Wednesday! Keep on trying and keep on SParking!
Success is waiting for you!

And our moms probably taught most of us "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again... and there is a good reminder that there was truth and wisdom in all those old sayings!

I'm trying to do better each day!

Here it is the third day of the New Year and I am really getting back into the routine after
the holidays. Candies and cookies still linger but for someone else's palate. It was fun
while it lasted but I am fully commited to get back to normal. Back to lots of fuits and
veggies and making the best choices I can.
My goals will probably remain the same-drink plenty of water, get enough sleep, so
my cardio and ST every day and maintain.
I am working to think of a new reward and it might just be a new dress for Easter. That
is a few days off but it is really too cold to be thinking spring just yet. A girl has to dream
of that perfect outfit LOL!
Speaking of dreams, what are your dreams for 2011? Have you given any thought to
what you really want to accomplish? If you are like me, it takes time to come up with
the best plan of action and follow through.
So, here's to planning and rethinking goals and aspirations! emoticon
Hugs and thanks for reading and commenting.
If I miss a reply, be assured I will read it as soon as my email account gets straightened
out. It has been a trial today so I'll be checking from time to time.

My dreams are pretty simple - healthy, surround myself with friends and family and people who make me happy, and enough - enough things (as in stop accumulating things!), enough food to eat, enough work to keep me busy.

My goals are to lose some more of this weight. maybe I won't hit my end goal this year - and maybe I will. But I WILL end 2011 at least 35 less than I started it. And I will continue to exercise to preserve this body that I have been given and have abused so badly in the past.

Other important goals - do something nice for someone else every day.
Be kinder to strangers and people who work in service jobs. I don't think I'm mean or nasty, but I can always do better.

I hope you and everyone of us achieves our goals!

Clear and cold

Sunday, January 02, 2011

The storm blew itself out and I had one more thing I wanted to accomplish. I baked banana
bread so the kids and we could have a treat after church. Now we are watching the
little ones so Mom and Dad could go see a movie. It is SIL's birthday today. I hope they
have fun.
School resumes tomorrow so we all have to get back to a schedule. Vacations are nice
but have to end sometime.
So it is back to a regular schedule and getting back on track after a long holiday. I
know I will have to regroup and reorganize but it is all doable.
Plan your strategy for the New Year and plan on SUCCESS!
Thanks for reading and commenting! HUGS!

Yes, it is time for the holidays to end and routine to return. I don't work, but feel like I do taking care of hubby and dad and my volunteering-think work might actually be easier some days!
Have a wonderful week.

What to do during a blizzard

Saturday, January 01, 2011

We spent time working in the freezers and brought up all the frozen strawberries and
raspberries and made 9 batches of jam/jelly yesterday and today.
We also baked bread, two loaves going to DD and the next door neighbor last night.
The storm has blown itself out and now DH thinks he wants to defrost one of the
upright freezers today. Hmmm-sounds like work. It is a daunting task so I'll just
take a nap first.
Time to clean out the old and bring in the new! Fresh start to a New Year and a New
You! Put the past behind you and shoot for the stars!
Thanks for reading and commenting and I'll catch up with everyone when the dust, or
should I say, snow) settles! HUGS!
