DS's concert

Sunday, October 19, 2014

This was the choral groups, not the band as I thought.
Either way, the music was delightful and we took
DS out for dinner to a quaint little place called the
Café Brule. Pleasant atmosphere, a very gracious
owner and DS's fav place to eat. Only about 4 blocks
from his apartment.
MIL took a little tumble on the steps inside the
building but DS was quick to catch her arm so
it wasn't worse. DS's music instructor wanted to
call an ambulance until DS said I was an EMT
and we could handle it. It worked out just fine,
a little cut on her elbow but no broken bones. I
have a feeling she will be sore tomorrow but she
was in good spirits when she drove home just now.
More fun things going on but I don't have enough
information to know what oldest DS and his GF are
up to now. Just what I didn't need but I am sure I
can get things set to rights tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday.
HUGS!

Happy M-I-L didn't get hurt worse. It is scary as we age that something as simple as a little tumble can wreak major havoc. It was a simple fall that broke my dad's elbow and gave him a goose egg that was his undoing. His heart just could not handle it.
Oh my more issues with DS-I am sure you will handle it but.... such a worry for you.

Doing a little extra ST

Saturday, October 18, 2014

My Stretch for Success day was a small goal for myself
and it worked. I did ST early this morning and did a second
set this afternoon after I push mowed the lawn for 45
minutes. I am feeling pretty good now but may feel it even
more tomorrow.
My salad is ready to deliver to the Oktoberfest committee
and I will do that now. I have no idea how long I will be
working tonight so I thought to blog now and add more
details tomorrow.
Now that the mowing is done, I can rake the leaves a
bit more easily and the lawn looks great for Sunday.
Have a great evening and thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

Find a reason to be fit Friday

Friday, October 17, 2014

Best reason in the world-to be healthier. If
there is movement to be had, you can find a
way if you keep an open mind. I found several
excuses to get outside in the sunshine and
most involved walking for errands. It seems
a little pointless to start a car and drive 3
blocks.
The harvest continues and with the stronger
wind today, the dust was blowing from all of
the traffic. The town is excited to see this
kind of activity. Last night the elevator shut
down at 11 pm. Tonight it was 7:30. I think
those men have earned a rest tonight but
it will all start again before sunrise.
I hope a found a reason to be fit and thanks
for stopping by. Maybe we should all
Stretch for Success Saturday. HUGS!

No tarrying today

Thursday, October 16, 2014

I had so many things to accomplish today so I
just kept moving. Our state inspector came to
check out the new ambulance, remind me of
some needed supplies and passed both of the
vehicles. WOOHOO!
It was perfect walking weather although a bit
windy. I have logged 4.5 miles and spent some
time in the garden, snapping broccoli and
pulling a few onions and leek.
I was reminded that I have to work at Oktoberfest
on Saturday and provide a "large" salad. Funny,
I didn't remember volunteering. DH is less than
impressed because he is on clean up duty. I
have a sneaky suspicion that he will find some
excuse to get out of it. It is fine to sit and talk
but clean up is just not his thing. He'll just have
to tough it out.
Hope you had a great day and let "Find a Reason
to Be Fit Friday! Thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

Tarry Not Thursday!

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

It can become so easy to back off from exercise
and just let the day go by with making the effort
to be active. You decide, once again, that you will
start eating right and making healthy choices-
tomorrow.
What are you waiting for? Tomorrow is Tarry
Not Thursday! If not now, when?
I am working to get back into the habit of my
early morning walks that were left behind when
I was spending so many hours in the garden.
The weather is cooler and comfort foods are
such a temptation. So I will be cooking more
light and healthy soups that will fill me up.
Get back into the groove and don't let another
day go by without giving it your very best.
Thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

    Nice little blog MSLZZY.
It is the change of seasons we all o to the hot heavy food in the winter.
I am hoping to make changes at our table in the fall. It will be good to replace the traditional fare and leave the real favorites.

It will help to keep sugar and salt down along with multiple slics of bread.
I know I have to measure orf weigh to really stay on track... Pat in Maine.
