Girl Scout Cookies....

So every year I usually can't wait to buy a few boxes of girl scout cookies. I think more so out of habit than really enjoying the cookies themselves, so this year I have been turning down offers to purchase cookies. I really have no desire for them and realize that they are not one of my favorite things anymore so I don't plan to buy any. I've decided that bad habits are made to be broken and that's A Okay!

    Good for you! I have to admit, I still picked up a few boxes this year, but not NEARLY the number I have in the past. Just not sure I'll ever wean myself entirely off Thin Mints...!

Making Progress....Small Steps

I know I'm making progress. I bought an 8 piece fried chicken from Albertsons, but instead of getting the meal as usual with macaroni salad and potato wedges, I just got chicken only and made mashed potatoes and veggies at home. Didn't take long at all and I saved some calories with mashed potatoes vs. potato wedges, cauliflower vs. macaroni salad. Also I love fried chicken and usually eat at least two pieces. Suddenly these pieces of chicken looked too big to me, so I only ate a wing and 1/2 of as thigh instead of the whole thigh and when I was full, I stopped eating. Normally, I would have cleaned the plate because this is one of my favorite meals. Needless to say, I'm very proud of myself.

    Wow! That is a great feeling isn't it? To be in control and making healthy choices and you will get to enjoy some of your favorite food multiple times as left overs instead of eating it all at once! Congratulations!

So over the last year I've gained back almost all of the weight I lost. It's really upseting to me because I put in so much hard work and just starting slacking. It seems like every week or every month I keep "starting over". I'm hoping that this month I can stick with it and get back to where I need to be and stay there. Wish me luck!

    We all have moments when things fall apart and our determination takes a dive--but the key is to just get back up, dust off, and FORGIVE. Let it go. The mistakes have been made but that was yesterday and today is full of all kinds of new opportunities and choices. Head out again. You KNOW what to do, and now emoticon

  i hear you. i did the same thing. i am refocusing. my daughter is graduating and i bought a real cute dress that i need to lose alittle behind to fit into. i am just finishing day 1 extremely focused and ready to look and feel better

Help....I'm addicted to Fast Food!

I've been keeping track of my expenses for the past 6 months or so and I eat out way too much. I need to find a way to curve the cravings for cheap fast food and just buckle down and make my own lunch or dinner and eat out only once or twice a month. The problem I have is that during the week I'm home alone while my kids are at school and in my mind it's cheaper for me to have a "treat" and not have to spend money on them also, or when I get home from work alot of times I'm starving and don't want to wait for dinner to finish cooking so I use that excuse to eat out. I really do want to cut down because I know it's the cause of my regain in weight. I really need some support in this area.

    If you are home alone during the week, it's a great opportunity to cook ahead for "go to" quick meals. I cook something on the weekend or on one evening and package the remainder in idividual containers to refrigerate or freeze. That gives me things to pack for lunch or to fix quickly when I come home at night. I also chop a whole head of lettuce and all the veggies I want in it, put in a big Tupperware bowl or salads. It may be a dinner salad or a side salad, but it's ready. If you do this, committ to eating salad everyday if you're by yourself. If you put it in Tupperware and eat a few dinner salads and the rest in side salads, you should be able to get through it without it turning brown.

I used to "grab and go" a lot before I stated SP and started doing what I described above. I rarely eat out now.

    You can do this! I have also realized this past month that we eat out more that We should am and going to change my ways! Hope that you can find the time to prepare ahead which really helps!

  I had a similar problem. Eating a high fiber snack in between meals gives me more control and stops hunger from driving the train. Good luck in finding a solution that works for you.
