Hi Spark friends! Hopefully I'll have my regular computer back in a couple weeks and be back online. Not good when one gets knocked off one's routine, eh? Gotta get back on that horse! LOL. I'm doing pretty well. Been busy; maintaining. Kind of a little plateau in my fitness program. Sometimes it's more a matter of doing some workouts but not posting them online! Patience IS a virtue.

    Oh that is bad. I don't do any kind of texting. In fact I don't own a cell phone. I use my computer, always using word or something else that will save my work. Just typing into this empty field could be doom. My computer might crash but my words will always be there in a file.

Reading my copy of Martina Navratilova's book, "SHAPE YOUR LIFE".

Right now I'm on a computer, but gotta leave shortly. Then I'll be stuck trying to do LIMITED updates from my cellphone. So that's why you aren't hearing much from me, until the computer's fixed! Today's my strength-training day + cardio, so I'm off to DO IT! : ) Get your own workouts in! You're worth it!!

Is (non-vacation) travel mostly a bummer for fitness - or what?

So glad I carried an inexpensive strength-training exercise tube in my suitcase! For the 5.5 days I was on the road, I think I did pretty well with nutrition, and not too bad with exercise, either. Trips that are "short" (yet more than 1 or 2 days) are worse because (unless you're going someplace you already know well) in most cases you don't have nearly enough time to get into new, healthy nutrition/workout routines in the new place! Holla back, ladies! (And gents!)

    I try to make sure the hotel has a gym so I can work out in the evening and try to use lunch to walk. Food is my downfall when I travel as it always seems that healthy choices are hard to come by and those yummy fat choices are everywhere.

Great thinking to bring along your tube. I will have to do that in the future.

    I would just love to go on a trip anywhere. I have a couple of bands that I take with me too. I love to get in the pool too. You cannot keep me out of the water. I don't care who sees me.

Bedtime protein every now & then

I've decided to do what some bodybuilders do and have a protein shake (without the flax oil) at bedtime after a good evening workout. I'm also trying to have a protein drink within 30 minutes of the end of a workout. That's my plan! This way I also won't be overly hungry when I wake... I already see some new definition in my biceps & triceps! Yea!! Back to the gym this week!

    I also use the protein in my fruit smoothies, but be careful because the latest is that there is cadium and lead in some of the protein powders and you can't exceed three servings per day. You can check the article that spark posted last week. I think the protein is great but anytime we find something good, they find something wrong with it. emoticon
