Another New DayWednesday, February 03, 2010
Well today was another of many new days. I did so good beating My Food Demon until late at night. Then he forced buttered ritz crackers down my throat.Ok Ok I willingly shoved buttered crackers down my throat. But that is the great thing about a new day.It is new. A chance to do better than the old day. Can't undo what I did but I have a chance to not repeat it today. ![]()

Wendy's chili is tasty. I made chili the other day so I brought some in for lunch today. It wasn't what I wanted but I ate it anyway. For dinner I'm eating potatoes and onions - SURPRISE SURPRISE. It's difficult to eat when so many things make me nauseous. You love those Ritz! Next time you go shopping you need to skip that aisle! Did you ever make it outside? A little sun everyday is good for you! Before you know it it's going to be sweltering hot and you're not going to want to go out there. Good luck tonight! I love ya!! Report Inappropriate Comment |

I do love Wendy's chili and that and a salad sound perfect. I made a big pot of soup with left over pot roast so we are having that with some fat free corn bread. Take care and have a good evening. Hugs, Sunny Report Inappropriate Comment |

It's a good feeling to know that we have new days to start over, and try to do better.. I'm glad you refuse to give up. So many throw up their hands and say 'well I failed' boo hoo', but not you.. You start again, and try to do better the next day and night. I'm glad you found a new dvd that will help you with your exercise and weight loss from the zookinesis site. That flexibility one should be really good for you, too.. It's been a slow quiet day here.. Still cold and dreary outside. I know this weather has to change soon, so I'm just waiting for the sun to shine for more than a few hours.. Chili sounds good, enjoy it. Drink your water, water, water..and that will help the sodium..We're having rotisserie chicken. Have to make something to go with it.. probably a salad.. Report Inappropriate Comment |

That's the great thing about being flexible (in more than one sense) we can change our mind. I am glad you realized that the old demon can't do anything without your permission. I thought I was going to have to write you another email. Report Inappropriate Comment |

It's great that you're not letting the food demon get the best of you. You're right, it's a new day and the main thing is not to give up! You may lose a battle from time to time, but the war is not over. As far as your exercise, you did 3 times as much as your goal for today! I don't feel like cooking either, I'm thinking Subway. That should satisfy my son, also. It is nice to have a sunshiney day again! Report Inappropriate Comment |

Do you like Chipotle? There's a website to calculate the calories according to what ever you order. http://www.chipotlefan.com/ index.php?id=nutrition_calculat or I love their Carnitas bowl, and even with cheese, rice, black beans, carnitas (pulled pork), tomatoes, and lettuce, it is about 565 calories and so filling! You could eat 2/3 for supper and 1/3 in front of the Food Demon and he wouldn't get you! Sharon P.S. Please send some sunshine our way. We got more snow last night and are under a winter storm watch now through Saturday for another big one! Even I, who love snow, am getting tired of it because of the dark days that accompany the storms. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I did great again yesterday, And today is looking good also. Does feel good to beat his butt more consistently.
I got up way too early this morning.Woke up and body parts were hurting so I got up. Did get my exercising done. Last month I only missed one day and my goal is to not miss any day this month.
The guy came today and fixed our sprinkler system. We had water but it wasn't going to the zones. He replaces the valves under ground so we can now water when we need to.I have to find out what day is our watering day. Bill wants to put real grass in out front. Before sprinklers quit working we had green weeds. It should water some of my plants too. During the summer that will help.
I don't eat canned soup too often but I do keep plenty on hand just in case. I really like cream of mushroom soup but because of salt and calories I don't eat it to often.I could eat it straight out of the can almost. But I was wanting some so bad today. So I made up a version that was more filling as we had a every man for himself supper. I chopped up a small potato and some onion and cooked it in a can of chicken broth. Then I added some chopped up frozen brocolli and a small can of mushrooms.Simmered it for a few minutes and then added 1/2 cup of milk with a teaspoon of butter. Had a salad with it. It was good soup.My two favorite soups in one. Cream of mushroom and potato. Hopefully that will take care of my craving. I still have all kinds of calories left for later.
It was raining all morning but by late afternoon the sun was shining some.I think we are in for more rain tomorrow. Hopefully it will be nice for Landon's blessing and birthday on Saturday. Oh I do have a question. When baby's etc are christened or baptized are people suppose to give a gift. I am Baptist and we don't baptize young ones. We do not spend a lot of money on GK's birthday as we have 11. They all get the same which is just $10. But Bill's ex and sil side will all be trying to outdo each other for his first birthday.. I need to know if I need to get something extra for what they are calling a blessing ceremony.
Tonight is biggest loser.I don't have a favorite yet but I do have one I don't like. The one that Jillian can't stand. My favorite part of the show is the last 5 minutes when they show how the person looks that got voted off.
Well I need to get the dvd's set up for later. Hope you are all doing well. And thanks again for being there for me. I couldn't do this without you.

So proud of you exercising and eating well, so consistently. Your soup sounds delish. I made a spark people baked potato soup the other day, that you might enjoy. Even my DH liked it and it was lovely and creamy. Here is the link http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/reci pe-detail.asp?recipe=767882 Regarding the gift, I think the others have offered great advice. I wouldn't get into a competition. You and Bill are authentic people and that is what he will grow to love more and more. I have given uncirculated mint coin sets of the year the baby is born. They are usually not too expensive. I think around $10. Have a great day! Report Inappropriate Comment |

You are doing so good. Now you make me want that mushroom soup but not out of the can. As far as gifts, I am non-denominational Christian and we don't baptize babies either. But we do dedicate them. How about you get a card and write a blessing inside personally from you. Or crochet a small cross to go with it. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I don't know what is considered an appropriate gift for that occasion. A gift from the heart is always correct in my books! I tell my grandsons that I do not have a lot of money and give them my time instead! Congratulations for Kicking Butt! Report Inappropriate Comment |

What else can I say! You are doing soooo good! I don't have any tips on a gift for the baby, however, I have the same situation with my grand kids. Their other GM buys and spends on them, but I told my DD years ago that we had no intention in getting into a competition with her. And I will tell you this...they come here more and they spend more time with us than they do with her. I feel sorry for her as she tries so hard. They call us without being told to! I never talk to them about her, except to ask how she is doing. Always positive. The soup sounds good and I copied the other recipe. I got your recipes and plan to make the Greek soup soon. I love it, we were introduced to it when we lived in Kifissa, just outside of Athens. I love all Greek food! We don't have a Greek restaurant closer than the Dallas area. Sure wish we did! I may make Stifido (sp) to take to a family who lost their sister this week. It's easy but I will probably cut down on the amount of olive oil that I used to use. I didn't mean to take up so much space, just got on a roll. Good night. Report Inappropriate Comment |

I am cutting calories, but taking that out also. I hope tomorrow I can eat some cracked walnuts. Report Inappropriate Comment |

You're soup sounds very good. I'm glad you are having some really good days! Keep up the good work. As far as the blessing gift. We usually do give a gift. Something like a child's small cross for the wall or a Christian children's book or child's bible are good gifts to give. Hope that helps. Have a great time this weekend - sounds like you'll be busy. I am glad you had a good day. I would have to say I don't care for mushrooms, I guess because we picked and ate them as kids so much got burned out on them. I do like a good homemade Cream of Chicken soup though. I don't watch much TV so have not seen any of the Biggest Loser shows. Shame on me. Stay feeling good my friend. Wow you are on a roll with the exercising.. Good for you, I'm so PROUD for you and PROUD of you.. You never give up, and I love that about you. It would be so nice to look out at your front lawn and see pretty green grass, and not weeds.. The only thing my husband doesn't like is having to mow ours. We have 2 1/2 acres that has to be mowed, and in the summer when we get rain it grows fast. (I think he secretly likes riding on his lawnmower) even though he grumps about how fast it grows..LOL That soup sounds delicious. I couldn't eat the mushroom soup straight out of the can though. I'd have to water it down a little with some low fat milk and make it consistency of gravy, then make what we call 'sh*t on a shingle'. I have no idea about the christening gift since I am Baptist also. I say do what seems right to you and Bill and not worry about the other side and what they give. I'm sure your children know your hearts, and that your love is bigger and better than any extra gift. I agree with you on Biggest Loser. I don't have a favorite this year, but I really can't see that woman in red winning since she has played the game more than wanting to lose weight. Well it's almost time for it, so gotta go.. Keep on with your winning streak.. Comment edited on: 2/2/2010 7:46:33 PM Report Inappropriate Comment |

I know who you are talking about on the biggest looser and I don't care for her either. She was playing the game big time and then started whining when Julian confronted her about blowing the weigh in. Give me a break. I love Cream of Mushroom soup but don't usually eat it out of a can. It is one of my "indulgences". Here is a great almost no fat (less than 1 gram of saturated fats) and only 114 calories per serving. Cream of Mushroom Soup Makes 4 servings Awesome Creamy Nearly Non-fat Mushroom Soup! Ingredients 3 cups mushrooms 1 tbsp olive oil 3 cloves garlic 1 tbsp flour 1 1/2 cups vegetable broth 1/2 cup skim milk 1/2 cup fat free sour cream 1 egg white 1 tbsp salt 1 tbsp pepper Directions Add olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and mushrooms in saucepan and saute on med-high heat for about 5 minutes. Add flour and stir. Add veg broth and bring to boil. In a separate bowl, beat together the sour cream, milk, and egg white. Add to the broth and keep on low heat for 10 minutes or more. Hope you try it some day. I like to mix the mushrooms - button, baby bella and shiitake. It is very good. Good luck on your battle with the food demon tomorrow. Great job on getting your exercise in today. Keep smiling my friend, you are doing it. Hugs, Sunny Comment edited on: 2/2/2010 7:34:23 PM Report Inappropriate Comment |

MMM, I'm all about the potatoes right now! Potatoes in soup is yummy! I don't like mushrooms but I will occasionally use cream of mushroom soup in a recipe. I haven't watched The Biggest Loser yet. I have them DVR'd but when the weekend comes I totally forget to watch them. I have 5 episodes or so to watch. I can't really help you with the baptism gift thing. Jason went to his nephews baptism last year and he doesn't think he gave him any money but he doesn't remember. Jason said he knows that others gave money. Keep up the momentum and kick the Food Demon where it counts!!! Report Inappropriate Comment |
