Much Better Day

Wednesday, January 27, 2010

Today has been a lot better. No binge eating at all today. Supper will be a challenge as it will be pizza. But I have planned for it.I will limit what I eat and add a big salad.

I did get my exercises done and added a weight strength tape. That sounds like a lot but it is just some upper arm hand weight tape that I got some time ago.It is a sitting one.I had some weight moves on sit and be fit tape I taped from her program. But the tape is going bad so had to stop using that part of it.This is longer and has more moves.I only use 1# weights for this. The DVD is called
Jodi Stolove'sChair Dancing-- More Sit Down & Tone Up--Strength Training from the comfort of your chair. Evendently there was one before this with same title but without the word More. I will do it on Mon.Wed.Fri. It also has stomach and leg moves too.

I just looked on back of dvd and here is the web site for anyone that is interested
We are having very warm weather and will for awhile. Suppose to get some rain this weekend.
oh by the way. If anyone is on facebook and you want to add me as a friend please sparkmail me with your full name. If I don't recognize a name I don't add them. So if you happen to be Linda Jedynak you need to let me know.

Ok Angel and Brianna are here and I need to show them a couple of extra things I need done.

Hope you are all having a great day. If not It does get better. Just get thru your bad day as tomorrow will be here soon.

Hi, I have been busy today...didn't get on until late. We are in for another winter storm. Had some errands to run before it gets here. I hope it isn't as bad as they say it's going to be. I AM READY FOR SPRING!
I have that tape and I love it. A group of us used to meet each morning and do that one and another, can't remember the name of it. I will find it and send it to you to see if you have it or might like it.
Have a good night...

I wanted pizza so bad tonight, but I settled for a taco salad (no shell) but still to many carbs and sodium so now I have to down the water to diffuse that. I think pizza would have been just as good, but I'm done for the day.

I'm glad you planned for yours, and after your good exercise workout you will do fine tonight. The chair dancing looks like a lot of fun.

It's chilly here tonight, with rain in the forecast..I'm ready for warmer weather..

Bad eating Day

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

I guess the stress of yesterday got to me today. I did fine yesterday but started the day off eating non stop. Finally said to heck with this and went back to bed at noon. In better shape now but demon has already won. But will eat the right way the rest of the day. I wish our emotion wouldn't betray us but it happens.I will not feel quilty nor beat myself up.I have been doing good for most of the time. This has happened and it is already over.So it is behind me.Lesson learned.
Here are the beautiful flowers my sweetie brought home last night just because.

I have a bunch of responses I haven't replied to yet so I better get busy.

Oh I did beat my food demon yesterday but I am already beat today.

Not to worry, one day doesn't mess up you life, just your day.
We all have times that we just have to have whatever we want, after all we are all human and we have needs, we are not robots and don't live off of wires nuts and bolts.
Although I have seen some breakfast cereals that would fall under that category.
You just feel good, that what it is all about, how you feel. We all love you for just being you.
Love the flowers your sweetie brought you, mine brought me some a couple of weeks ago for the same no reason.

Somewhat stressful day

Monday, January 25, 2010

Those of you than have grown children know that the drama doesn't disappear once they are grown. It is worse as you can't kiss away their pain. They have to do it. So I dealt with a daughters heart ache earlier. It was upsetting but I handled it and I am fine. As long as we are breathing we are Mothers and when our children hurt they want their mommy. Age has nothing to do with it. I am glad that just talking to me helps them but it is rough on me. But thanks to 1/2 a zanax and some exercise I calmed down fairly quickly. I must be honest and say I am glad the boys don't call. And as upsetting as it is sometimes I am grateful that my daughters have faith that I can help. Some mothers never hear from their children.

Ok Enough of that.
16 7

Yes I beat him but just barely. I have to get down toward the low side of my range.

I am making a ground turkey meat loaf for supper. This is kind of meal that takes time to figure calories. I got cal. count for everything I could as I mixed it up.Then weighed whole thing. Came up wit 35 cal per oz. So when I go to eat it I will measure and weigh my portion. It really is a big pain you know where to count calories. I will share a baked potato with Bill and add a salad for me.

A few people have asked where I got the patterns for the crochet ornaments.I got a book at Joannes fabric. But I would be happy to send you a copy of patterns. But I am way too lazy to sit and type them out. I am a 2 finger typer. If you want to send me your address by sparkmail I will be happy to make a copy and send it to you. Do NOT post it here. Send it in a sparkmail where only I will see it.

Ok Gotta go.I just heard dryer stop and I need to make my salad and check meat loaf.

Hi dear friend of mine...yep I know daughter drama first hand. You know the story..just try your best to listen without being sucked in. I always drove myself insane trying to 'fix' my daughters problems..but as soon as I'd fix one..she'd be right back in another one..but bigger...after about 10 years of making myself sick over the poor decisions she continually made..and her's were much more severe than your daughter's I finally just let go and realized that it was her choice and her path in life and really...I had no control..or actually anything to do with what she did as an was then and only then that I was able to concentrate on my own self and do the things I needed to do to try and get healthy. I know what a loving and kind mother you are...but if it pulls your health down you won't be able to help at all..maybe you can let her know that and maybe she will be smart enough to accept the fact that she and only she is responsible for the choices she makes right now. Hugs...and I hope you take this the way that it is meant..only with love and concern for your health dear one!

Congratulations on beating the food demon today. I know how hard it is not to beat him when stressed--I crave chocolate or some other sweets.

I do know what you mean about adult children causing stress. Like you, our children call me (dh is deaf so they can't call him) and sometimes it really raises the bp and stress level big-time. Take care of yourself and prayers go out to you and your daughter.

We use turkey a lot too. Have you tried the turkey sausage? It is good too.

My prayers are with you Eleni. I know the heartache and heartbreak when they talk to you and when they don't. They want to talk but also don't always want to follow the path they should. Why can't we just have grandkids? But then again, they grow up too. Have a great day and enjoy that turkey loaf. I usually crack and chop pistachios to put in mine. But that is a lot of work too. It gives it a nutty flavor. I use it instead of breadcrumbs.

I'm sorry your day hit a snag with trying to help your daughter. I have no children, so I can only imagine the stress of being a Mom. A shoulder to cry on is what every little girl needs sometime..

I get confused when making things like turkey meatloaf, and beef stew and things that have a good many ingredients so I use the recipe builder on Sparks to help me. Sometimes I write it all out and get my hubby to help me. He loves figuring with numbers, so I don't have to do it alone.

There are lots of free patterns online for crochet. No need to ever buy another pattern. There are thousands of patterns to make just about anything a person would need or want.. Here's a link for anyone that wants a free pattern for snowflakes..

Stay strong tonight, Ladybug, and keep doing those exercises..You're doing great!!!!

My heart goes out to you and your family, Ms. Eleni. You are a devoted, loving mother. My hubby (age 66) is the youngest of nine. His mother is 98 1/2 years old and still healthy. Her short-term memory is beginning to fail, though. Anyway, she, too, is a devoted, loving mother, and knowing her has taught me that you really don't ever stop worrying . . . it's part of loving . . . and the family just gets bigger and bigger (there are almost 100 in his family now beginning with his Mom). So you are doing well with coping and continuing to love them all. I'm praying everything works out for the best, and sometimes it takes a few years for that to become apparent, but in the meantime, I'm praying God continues to strengthen you. You are blessed. Enjoy the meatloaf dinner. Sounds delish!!! emoticon
And keep crocheting those beautiful ornaments. (Knitting is very therapeutic for me.)

Quiet but Nice Day

Sorry to have to say it but
7 15
I was doing good til midnight and then it was all downhill.

Nothing exciting going on.I got all my exercises done. Tried to be careful with my calories as I knew supper would be more today. For some reason Bill decided he really wanted a T-Bone steak so we got 2 at grocery store. It has been years since I had one. I refused to cook it in house and made him use the outside grill.I Knew it would be better and if we were splurging I wanted it to be worth it. It was worth it. It was so good. I had fresh yellow and chinese green beans that I steamed. So it was an awesome supper.
Here are a couple more ornaments.

I already showed you this but here is a pic of them outside.

Don't really have much going on. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Eleni doing Zookinesis.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

This is an example of the zookinesis tape that I do.I have 2 of them that are sitting ones. I had to really decide if I wanted to show this after I saw it.My big belly and floppy arms are there for all to see. But I have a big belly and floppy wings. The one good thing I did notice is my grey hair doesn't show. I also do other types of sitting exercises. So there is always something we can do. I know I look silly but it is better than doing nothing. It is a form of Tai Chi done in a chair. I do have to skip thru parts. If you noticed there is a stop watch there.Whenever I skip I stop the watch and restart it when I start again. That way I get an accurate time I exercised.
Ok Have fun and it is ok to laugh.
