Cloudy but Warm Day

15 6
It was right at the top but still under.I need it to be closer to low side

I got up early this morning but didn't feel too good.I think it is because of the extra diuretic I had to take. But I had no choice.I should have done it sooner. But I did my exercises even tho I didn't want to.But I was so wiped out that I told Bill we would go out tomorrow and went back to bed. But afer a short nap and a shower I felt better so we headed out.We went to Bob Evans for lunch as we had a gift certificate.I did good there but it back fired on me later. I had a cup of soup and salad.Salad was mostly just lettuce which is great calorie wize but not very filling. And a small cup of soup isn't enough. Not for me. We next went to Bed Bath and Beyond.Yes Carol I watched my wallet. emoticon I had a gift certificate and only spent $33 dollars. I found a long handled wooden spoon that will work great for my soup pot. Then I replaced the pizza pan Bill lost ( I had mine for years)and another oven pan that died on me ( a small one). Then got a box of coffee for my one cup coffee maker. I wanted to find a small steamer.I have a large double decker that I use a lot but sometimes I need just a small one. All they had was a triple decker .
They did have a nice stove top grill similar to mine but much larger. Bill kept looking at it but I ignored him as I don't need one that big for 2 people. It was cheaper than my Hamilton Beach.

By the time we finished I was starving. Lesson learned.Soup and salad out is not filling like mine at home. Then I made the big mistake. We stopped at Chick-fil-A. I really bit a bunch of calories.I got 4 chicken strips that ended up being 470 cal. Bill got 4 nuggets that was only about 140 cal. Another lesson learned. I have to do what I have been saying I would do and make a list of things I can eat in times like that.My first plan which was a better plan was to find a Wendy's and get some chilli.
So I learned some good lessons the hard way. This is why I try to eat most meals if not all at home.

Tonight is every man for himself so I should still be ok.I will probably have cabbage and shrimp for me.

It has been very warm but very foggy and dreary looking. Thats ok.I will take that in place of cold weather.
I am almost finished with the Spark book. Some of stuff in back is of no interest to me.But I think I will reread it

Almost have a star ornament crocheted.I think I will make one of each and see which ones I like the best. The tree is a good one in white.I want to do one in red and see how that looks. I don't think it is helping a lot with night eating but maybe it will after I start making more.

Ok Thats it for now. I think I will go do my zookinesis tape for a few minutes anyway.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Thanks again for all your encouragement. This is just so dog gone hard. But I am determined to Git R Done. I do like that corny saying.

    Hey Eleni.
This bra matches your shirt in your zoo video. Did you do that on purpose? I think you are very color coordinated. I think you did well at BB&B. Sounds like we need to keep an eye on Bill too.
Very foggy dreary day here too but it got up to 43 and some of the snow is melting. But we have another storm coming in next week. I can sure vouch for being hungry out and making some boo boos or lessons learned. We went out to I-Hop tonight after church with our youngest. I stayed away from those pancakes but the eggs benedict does have all that sauce. Keep on "zooing"

Sounds like you had whirlwind of a day after you got going. I've never been to a chick filly, ooohhh I mean Chick Fil-A, hahaha, yup I typed that wrong but wasn't going backward so just left it there.. LOL

A long wooden spoon, to stir that big pot of soup..To bad they don't have long red wooden spoons.. I know you would of like that too.. *wink* Glad you found what you needed. It's always fun to come home with something we really want..I have a long long metal spoon..that thing is as long as my arm, from my elbow to my fingers. I think I got it at a walmart years ago..sure worked well when I was making pear preserves back in the fall..

I went to walmart this afternoon, and spent 50 bucks, and didn't get much of sure goes fast in that place. LOL

Well enjoy your cabbage and shrimp..I went over board with a homemade sub sandwich tonight.. It was good, but I can't have anything else tonight..

Bet your star ornament and the trees are all going to look beautiful on the trees this Christmas..

Enjoy your evening, Ladybug.. Lock that F. Demon out of the house tonight.. I'll have to do the same at my place. LOL

Sounds like you had a good day even after a slow start. I love chick fil-a also but have not eaten there in years. Do they have grilled Chicken?

I did not sleep well last night and haven't felt well all day. Tomorrow hopefully will be a better day.

Hugs to you, Sunny

LOVE THE BRA! Of course I always love your blogs and pictures!
All in all you didn't do too bad today even with stopping at Chick-Fil-A. Just make sure what ever you have for dinner is filling and satisfies you to keep the "demons" away!

I also had found some wooden spoons right before Christmas at Bed and Bath that I love!

Hope you get your energy level up soon!

Have a Great week end!

I LOVE the bra saying. So true!!

I've never eaten at a Chick-Fil-A. We don't have many in this area but there is one at the mall about 30 minutes away. I see it but we never go. I heard it's tasty. Then again, right about now all fried food is tasty! Last night we went to AppleBee's for dinner and I didn't even care about calories. I've been doing so bad. I'm not very hungry so I've been really low with my calories, which is why last night I didn't mind. I couldn't finish my dinner so Jason finished it for me. We got dessert to go and I ate it when we got home BUT I could only eat 1/2. That's so not like me. Jason ate the rest.

WOW, you went to Bed, Bath, & Beyond and only spent $33.00?? Great job! emoticon

It's foggy, rainy, and cold here. BRRRRR!! We had a bunch of shopping to do today so i was in and out of it. It's nasty. Tomorrow we don't have to leave the house. I'm glad because the rain is supposed to turn to snow sometime tomorrow.

Does your cell phone have a spot to keep memos or notes? If so, you can keep that list you were talking about for times you're in a pinch and need to stop and eat right on your cell. I have my cell phone on me whenever I leave the house.

Good luck with the Food Demon tonight. I know you can do it!

A Good Friday so far

14 6
It was close but I did do it

Just got back from grocery store. I am almost embarrassed by how much I spend there when so many people are having money problem. But I only feel that way for a minute.I had many many days that I had to count every penny and decide what was most important to buy. No extras of any kind.I have worked very hard for many years to be able to walk into a grocery store and buy what I want. When ever Bill completely retires I will scale back. But I don't have to. I think 2/3rds of stuff is from produce. We are going to add it up and see how much I do spend on fruits and veggies.

Most of you know I am into finding new things to try.One of you told me about the thin sandwich buns so I looked for them. Actually my sister Joanne also mentioned them.Isn't it funny how the different brands will copy each other. Here is a picture of the ones I got but there were 3 different brands of same kind of bun that had the same thing for 100 cal.The only diff was in sodium. It was about the same on all but one that had 50 grams more. A good variety in type of bread, wheat, multi ,honey wheat etc.

And here is a sample of Christmas ornaments I am crocheting. I think I will stick with white and red. These have only been ironed a little.Haven't put them in stiffy stuff yet.

We have very heavy rain all night. It didn't look bad earlier and was very warm when I left house earlier. When we came back into our subdivision there was a heavy fog just like early morning fog only it was 3 pm.A strange time for fog to roll in.

Am still having trouble with fluid.Doc lets me decide when to take extra diuretic but I hate doing it.The days I take extra I am at max you can take.I also have to take at least 5 extra horse pill potassium. My chest has been a little sore since yesterday.I know it isn't my heart.I think it is just the muscle from all the arm exercises i do.I don't do anything strenuous but it does move the chest muscles.Or else it is the lungs tired of being full of water. So I am taking extra diuretic and not doing as many arm exercises. I am about 99% sure it is just a muscle.

I was hoping more new people would read my extra blog about spark pages. I hate when I can get back to someone to thank them

Well That ton of groceries is waiting on me.Always fun trying to fit all fresh stuff in fridge.

Have a great weekend.I have asked Bill to pull off all the dead leaves on outside plants. Most should come back ok but dead leaves aren't helping..It may take a long time for them to recover but I think most will. They will just be sad looking for awhile.

Ok I am headed to kitchen.

We spent $418.00 tonight at the grocery store. I didn't buy as much fresh produce as I would like because nothing was standing out. We're going to Sam's Club tomorrow and I'll pick more up there. Ha, ha, ha, I bought the same exact bread as you. I found them last time we went shopping and I liked them so I bought them again tonight. I tried the whole wheat last time and bought the honey wheat tonight.

The ornaments are adorable! My mom used to crochet but I never got the hang of it. I used to be able to crochet a long rope but I could never figure out how to make a blanket, scarf, or anything. I haven't even tried in over 15 years. I think I still have the needles somewhere. Maybe when life slows down I'll try it again.

I don't know how you maintain all your pills. I'm having issues with my pre-natal vitamins. I've always been bad with pills which is why I never took birth control. It's amazing I only have 2 kids and one on the way. emoticon

The ornaments are really good. When you starch them they will look even better and look great on your tree. Like someone else said, once others see them, the orders will be rolling in.

We buy Arnold Sandwich Thins too and love them. No, I haven't seen the Honey Wheat kind though. Matter of fact, just bought some yesterday afternoon and noticed our Wal-Mart had another brand too but we stuck with Arnolds.

Don't feel bad about spending money on fresh produce. As mama used to say, you worked hard for your money and you won't take it to heaven with you.

You are doing so good Eleni. Keep on beating that food devil!!

Hey Ladybug, those ornaments are really cute.. I think the white would be so pretty on a green tree, and if you had a little bit of glitter you could probably put a dab of elmers on the green ones at the points, that would make them sparkle. Of course it might be to messy to fool with..

I can only get the Oroweat Sandwich Thins. I have not seen the Arnold brand, but I could have missed it.. I buy the wheat. I think they are a bit high in sodium but not sure how much. Of course if you are watching the salt intake that would be a big factor in which ones you choose..

Produce is certainly expensive in the winter months, but if you think about it, what isn't..The silly electric bill is outrageous, and it won't be long till they stick it to us again for gas prices, especially in the summer months come vacation time..By the Grace of God I think we are all blessed if we have enough money to live day to day. I'm not rich in money, but certainly not poor by todays standards and for that I'm always thankful.

Have a good evening..Glad you beat the demon last night..

Hi, glad things are better today. I have been eating the sandwich thins for awhile now, but have never seen the honey wheat. We get the multi grain and wheat. I am going to ask our grocery manager if he can get the honey wheat. They sound good.
I have been buying sweet potato fries, have you heard of them? They are cooked, all you have to do is put them in pan, in oven. They are crisp and really good. I'll get back to you on the calorie count and fat content.
Need to put something on the table for Ted. I know I should eat, but I am just not hungry!

P.S. No need to feel guilty about spending money where nutritious food is concerned. My friend said years ago when they were totally strapped that she still bought good ingredients and nutritious foods because it is a matter of health. She's a nurse. That really made an impression on me. My hubby retired almost two years ago, and I quit teaching 17 months ago. Our income is half of what it used to be. We choose to spend money on good food choices and spend less in the entertainment category instead. Very compatible choice for people like us who enjoy being at home together. Throughout life it is about choices, and you're making excellent ones! Keep taking care of your heart and your health. Yay, Ms. Eleni!!!

I think if you want to eat healthy it adds up at the store. Fresh produce is expensive. Especially in the winter and when the weather ruins the crops. We spend a lot at the grocery store too but I don't see any way around it except to not eat. I too like your ornaments. You will have to do 5,000 of them for Christmas presnets though. I like the ornaments you are crocheting. My grandmother tried to teach me how to crochet when I was younger but I just couldn't ever get the hang of it. I've seen a lot of beautiful things people have made.

Please read this if you do not have a spark page

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Hi there. This is for anyone who has not made a spark page.I think those that haven't are either new people or extremely private people.
I have had several comments and questions posted on my vblog, regular blog and spark page from people who have no spark page. If they don't have a spark page I know of no way to respond back to them. A spark page is a wonderful tool other than telling about ourselves.
It gives others a chance to interact with us with support encouragement and friendship. A spark page doesn't have to have a lot on it.It can be as simple as having Hi Hello I am so and so. Then the important thing is to be sure and allow goodies to be left for you,Spark mail to be mailed to you and really make sure people can leave you comments. And if you are new you may need to know how to respond to any comments left for you.If I leave you a comment of some kind and you want to say something back.Don't say it on your page of comments.Click on my page and leave it there. I may not see it if you put it on yours. If you are viewing one of my blogs then you would comment on my blog.
Ok I hope I haven't completely confused you. I just don't want you to miss out on another of's features that will be very helpful to you. I am no computer expert but if you have a question I will try to answer it or tell you where to go to get answer.
So please.Make yourself a simple spark page and start enjoying Spark even more.

Even when you can not leave a comment on a Spark Page, you can send an e-mail.
Some people just prefer it this way. I honestly don't think they get as much out of the program as the "people connection" is what keeps me the most motivated. That Spark Guy knew what he was doing, didn't he?

Much Better Day

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Thank you for being so understanding. I was just in a rotten mood yesterday.I didn't even want to be around me.Poor Bill.He is such a saint. But he usually always makes me feel better.
Today is going good.I have my exercises all out of the way.I might do just a few later. I got the DVD I ordered and was a tiny disappointed. It did not have the segment I was looking for.But I scrimmed thru the two DVD's and there are several I can pick out to do that will be almost as good. I picked this one as she had same outfit on but on dvd she didn't on any of the segments.
The weather has been great here.It rained for about 1 minute and then quit.Sun is shining now.It has been windy.
I had a visitor today. This was one very proud fella who was very confident. He looks like he is the boss and knows it.Very well cared for. I couldn't decide which pic I liked the best so here they all are.

Check out his tail

I don't know if you can tell but he is a large cat. He has wandered in yard before but this was first time I got a pic.

I did get some crocheting done yesterday. Will show you tomorrow. I got a book of Christmas ornaments to make.I made a tree but it isn't going to show very well as most trees are green.I am going to make a white one and see how that looks.

Well I am much better today. Have a lot of catching up to do as my Food Demon beat me 2 days in a row.Not something I am proud of but it is over and done with. It is a new day.Isn't it wonderful we do have new days to do better.
Thanks again for all your support , encouragement and the goodies you sent. They do mean a lot to me. I will stay strong today. All day long. emoticon

He is on my heels but enough is enough. He will NOT beat me today.

Loved the kitty pic's. He is a pretty thing. I like cats from a distance. Don't like them in my yard. We feed birds, and I get upset when I see one lurking to catch one of our pretty birds. Think what makes me maddest is one neighbor that has way too many cats that just roam the neighborhood. They dug up a bed of pansy's that I had just planted. Nothing that I have used seems to deter them!
Hope you are feeling better. And that you have a throttle hold on the demon today!
Love ya...

If I lived close by I would be glad to teach you to knit. I still consider myself some what of a beginner since I've only been doing it for about 2 years.. I've been crocheting many years and I even taught my hubby how to crochet..LOL.. everyone laughs at us when we tell them that he can crochet.. LOL then he says, well if Rosie Greer can do needlepoint, I can crochet. LOL

I bet your Christmas ornaments are going to be fantastic..The tiny thread and small hooks make my arthritis fingers act up, so I stick with making afghans and dishrags..some times a stuffed animal and baby blankets..

Enjoy your projects, Ladybug..

There are many days I'm not so nice to be around. I have a feeling that number will be increasing with my hormones all over the place. I still love you all the same. emoticon

What a pretty kitty! It looks HUGE compared to my petite little girl. Maybe it'll catch the snake in your yard!

It was windy by us last night. I couldn't believe how cold it was when I left work. The wind whipped right through me. I was shivering for the 1st 10 minutes of my drive home.

Not A Great Day

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Sorry I am just not in the mood to blog so I am leaving you with part of a poem from MOTHERTURTLE85's blog. I will be back tomorrow

And every tear that had to fall from my eyes,
And everyday I wondered how I'd get through the night,
Every change, life has thrown me,
I'm thankful, for every break in my heart,
I'm grateful, for every scar,
Some pages turned,
Some bridges burned,
But there were lessons learned.

And all the things that break you,
Are the things that make you strong!
You can't change the past,
Cause it's gone.
And you just gotta move on,
Because it's all
Lessons learned

And as I say What is done is done.Thank goodness we can start over tomorrow.
