We had a nice day yesterday. Our turkey from Winn Dixie wasn't what I expected but it was good. I stripped it of meat and cooked carcass and have a huge pot of broth. It is in fridge for now.Tomorrow I will take it out and scimm off fat and take out carcass. I still have several bags of soup so I will freeze broth.
My brother and his wife came by for awhile this afternoon.I was glad they came. They will be leaving to go back to Arizona.Because it hasn't been a good month I haven't seen much of them.It was a nice visit and I showed Rosa my spark page. She is going to watch it when they get back. She might even join spark if she likes it.
I did get my nails done today and picked up a gingerbread house to build.I did 2 last year and it was fun.Actually Brianna made one and I made one.
Ok Bill just got out the domino's so I am going to run.He is spoiling me this weekend with games. Enjoy the rest of your weekend

One year at school I had my class use graham crackers and make houses with the left over Halloween candies! They were creative.

We will be going to Bradenton at the end of Dec. I will give you my cell number later. Hope we can get together .

Now we are into the lists and double checking to get things packed. I had a lovely black Fri. shopping with my girls for 14 hours. It was fun!

Hi Eleni.. I wish I liked Gingerbread.. I would try to make my sweetie some.. I never learned to make a house from it either.. I bet your house smells good with all the soup and stock and gingerbread going..

dominoes are fun, but I'm to slow at that.. I like playing 42. I don't get to play to often though, takes 4 to play and since my Dad died there's no one to play partners with me.. I can play some card games but I'm not good at Monopoly. My hubby beats the socks off me in All of the games. He's very good with numbers and I'm slower than Christmas turkey with the numbers. That's what a caculator will do for ya.. haha..I never learned to play canasta? is that spelled right? but I always wanted to learn.. I play Solitaire on my computer, and Hearts once in awhile.. Not as much fun playing alone though...

Well enjoy your dominoes.. and hey let Bill win a few.. ha ha..

I emoticon You! - Pat

I have no clue how to make my own broth. Every year we have so much left over turkey I end up tossing it all out. Not to mention that neither my husband or myself really know how to carve a turkey. I made a turkey breast this year and it was great! I think we'll do that from here on out.

I remember the gingerbread houses! I made a train last I year I believe. I almost bought a gingerbread house yesterday. We went to Michael's for a HUGE sale they had from 5PM - 9PM. I got a great deal on something for my sister, originally $69.99 but marked down to $27.99. Anyway, I'm not sure if we'll do another gingerbread house. It was a pain in the butt!! emoticon

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Good luck with dominoes.

Today has been a mix of many things.
On a very sad note.My daughter Joy lost her dog today.Miller got out of house and ran in front of a car that hit him and kept going.he was killed right away.Thankfully Joy did not see it.She was out trying to find him when it happened. Miller was such a nice dog and since she has no children he was her baby. She has another puppy she recently got but Miller was her son.I tried to console her as best I could.
On to brighter stuff. My sweet Brianna got everything done today. She had all the cloths done last night but she has been a busy bee.The only thing I helped her with was putting the lights on the trees. She did everything else. I did supervise and tell her what I wanted where on other stuff than trees. I did do the tiny tree. That was a pain as I had to take it apart.I need to replace it but it was my mothers. She passed away 14 years ago so the tree is about 17 years old.I just don't have the heart to get rid of it.
It has been a very dark dreary rainy day.It has been raining almost all day.Well I better get some supper going. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

My gosh, I'm so sorry to hear about Joy's baby.. Miller was a cutie.. I know Joy is heartbroken and what a bad time to lose her baby..

On a brighter note, your tree and decorations are so pretty.. but your granddaughter is even pretty than all the trees.. I know you're PROUD of her..

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Eleni..

What a horrible thing to happen to Miller. Poor Joy! How sad.

On a lighter note, Brianna did a great job! I think it's wonderful that she comes over and helps you out.

We're putting up our tree tomorrow. The outside lights are going to have to wait. It's been raining here the last 2 days and the ground is soggy. They're calling for a light dusting of snow for tomorrow. I'll be surprised if we get any.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I want to thank all my wonderful spark family for all the comments on my latest 2 blogs and my spark page for the last two days.I got so far behind there is no way I can respond to each one. Please forgive me and I will try to do better. But when I am not feeling well it gets ahead of me.I appreciate and read every single comment.
I did read all blogs that I subscribe to and did comment on them. You guys are everything to me. I was in TOPS for many many years and never got all the support I have gotten from you.
Today I have been all over the place with my eating.Who knows why we have these days. Most of the time we don't know.Or at least we don't know we know. I don't think I can stay in my range today but I will work on keeping the damage as low as possible.
On a brighter side.Brianna is coming to spend the night and get my Christmas trees put up. And other decorations. This is very early for me but it is now or wait 3 weeks and that would be too late. I really enjoy the lights anyway. The big shocker is that Bill went and bought all new lights for outside and even got a few up. If you knew how much he hates doing it you would realize how funny it is. It usually takes me forever nagging to get him to put some up. But he still has to finish it.LOL
Brianna started helping me a few years ago and as she has gotten older she does more.Last year I did very little. Her Mom Angel said she might hand around and help.If they can do it without fighting that would be fine. I am not in the mood to referee.
I was going to do a crock pot but I think every man for himself would be best for me.I can make a real low cal meal for me. Soup.
Ok I need to go clean up kitchen. That is only housework I do. Not too much to do.
Have a wonderful day.

I don't decorate much as I am alone but I do have a 2 ft table tree I put out and have tiny little ornaments I decorate it with. On my patio I usually put out one of those tube light trees but last year it was so cold and snowy by this time I never did.
It is right before Thanksgiving so it isn't too early for Bill to put up the lights. How nice Briana will help you. Hope everything is going okay for her.
Feel better for Thanksgiving.

You aren't alone with the weird eating today!!! It has been a rough one for me. I have not eaten a 'meal', just have eaten all day!!!!!
Know you house will be beautiful when it is all decorated. I plan to start on mine after Thanksgiving...I just need to get that behind me first. I'm not cooking much, just baking pies, we are going to LaRee's (our daughter). Only about a 45 minute drive.
It is supposed to freeze here tonight...

Bet your tree and lights are gonna be so great what with Brianna and your sweetie decorating the house..I don't blame you for not wanting to referee, cause it's suppose to be fun, not fights..

It's fend for yourself night here too. I stayed late at work to do some personal things and just got home. Traffic was a nightmare because it's dark and rainy. It could be worse. The rain could've been snow.

Brianna is such a helper. My kids lose interest too quickly. I've been harping on my husband to put up the decorations outside but he has yet to do it. If he doesn't do it soon I'm going to do it and it won't be pretty! emoticon

Sunday trip to Walmart

Sunday, November 22, 2009

Yep I went.I saw.I spent money. i do love Walmart. But there is one thing that always puzzles me about the one I go to.Once you cross the line from department store to grocery store the people become crazy rude maniacs. It has been like there everytime I cross that line.Today I just wanted to pick up a few more tomatoes. It's like you are risking your life over there. They run around like it is the end of time of something.I actually got a headache after a few minutes. It is scary over there.
But the other part of store was much better. Give a another week and you couldn't pay me to go in there. As usual I found other stuff besides what I went for, But good stuff of course. My soup pot is just not quite big enough. It is an 8 quart but I fill it to the top and then it is too full.So I got a 12 quart one that is a better one anyway. Then----- I had to go to gadget dept. I got a new knife sharpener which I did need.I keep my good knives very sharp. Then I saw a seafood nut cracker and got that. The nut cracker I have is the metal ones that have been around forever and my hands aren't as strong anymore and I can crack nuts without hurting my hand.I had a few walnuts yesterday and used crackers like a hammer first. These have cushion grips. Then----- I ended up in small appliances. First I looked for another immersion blender.I have one but switch is hard to turn it on.Didn't find one I liked.Mine is also a little bigger than I need. But Then----- I found a small blender. It is called a one serving blender. Most blenders are pretty big. This is about half the size. I just made a slurpee with it.We could not find twin extra long sheets.I am tired of looking so I will go to internet. We did find a nice floor lamp for piano room.We took the one in there out and it is out here for when I make a video at computer. And Then---- I got a salad spinner. I am not even sure how to use it or if I will use it. And got ANgels Christmas present. The only one I will be buying.Everyone will be getting cash. I am not able to shop and I have no idea what to get them.
We had a nice lunch was very good. I had a cup of soup and a half sandwich.. Tonight I am fixing our grilled turkey burgers and grilled veggies.
I was exhausted when we got home plus a slight headache. It got dark and started raining.Perfect for a nap. Or so I thought.I could not get to sleep. But I rested for awhile anyway. It is real dark now and still raining. Well I need to go get supper going. I have tons of emails to take care of but I will try to do them later. Thanks for all the nice comments on my video blog.I always hate seeing my fat flapping in the wind but thats me.No sense in hiding it.I am what I am.Pleasantly plump and jumbo petite. But still weigh a lot less than I did.
Ok I heard Bill's tummy growling so I have to go. Hope you had a good weekend

We went to visit a new Costco and I couldn't understand what all the fuss is about. Since we weren't members there, we left, went to our Walmart and braved the same type of traffic you wrote about.
I won't go to a store for a week!

I've started going to Walmart around 8:00 on a weekday morning. You practically have the place to yourself!! Nobody pushing or running into you with their carts. It's wonderful!! I hate that they are doing away with the fabric departments. I needed a zipper the last time I went and they didn't even have any!!

WalMart on a Sunday? You are one brave lady. Especially with everyone shopping for Thanksgiving. I am going to try to get mine done tomorrow. I should have already done it. Mondays are good because it is less crowded but sometimes they are out of stuff because the trucks haven't come in yet. I think sometimes people are just crazamanianc when they are out. No one cares about the other guy.

The one thing I've gotten use to being home is shopping during the week and avoiding the weekends.

My DIL works in the bakery at a WalMart here in Fort Wayne (I think we now have 5) She told me the plans for next Friday and she's very happy she has that day off.

Oh you brave soul...Sundays are the worst at just about every walmart I've ever been to.. Around this time of year you can't stir um with a stick at our wally warts (that's what I call them)teehee.. I just dread going there, and since they deleted the material and yarn in the craft department I hate it even more..

I don't normally use the carts to ride in, but the few times I have had to they acted like I was the biggest problem they had. Some of the door greeters 'well' I wouldn't call it greetings.. Anyway I try to walk and not get mowed down by the OVER GROWN KIDS (adults) and their kids..

Hope your headache feels better, and the dark rain clouds don't make it worse..

I am with Robin. There is no way I go anywhere near WalMart on the weekends. It is a zoo. Probably today, people were out trying to get all their groceries bought for Thursday.

I think you do a pretty good shopping, girl. Don't know what you mean about not being able to shop. You did GREAT today.

Take care and have a good week.

You're brave going to Wal-Mart on a Sunday during the day. I tend to go in the evening, and I try going weeknights instead of weekends. We went Christmas shopping there last weekend. It wasn't bad. I don't do my grocery shopping there, but occasionally we head that direction for one thing or another. It's not so bad when we go. I used to get headaches whenever we stepped foot in Wal-Mart because it was always crowded and the aisles were so narrow. It was awful. We now have 2 Super-Wal-Mart's within 10-15 minutes from our house and they're bigger so shopping is better.

Don't worry about what you look like on camera! You look great! Remember, they say the camera adds pounds! emoticon You are doing great with your weight loss and should be proud!!

By the way, did you see all the red kitchen appliances Wal-Mart sells?

Take care... emoticon
