I am still having trouble with having to login over and over.I couldn't even get to some spark blogs.
Today has been one of those hungry days. You know what I mean. I am still in good shape with calories but glad it was a every man for himself night. I can make myself a very low cal dinner which I did as I ate too much earlier. I still have plenty for my night snacks.
Tomorrow starts our weekend as hubby only works 4 days a week. So tomorrow is grocery shopping day after he bowls. I think I am going to try to find a pomegranate to try.Two people said you are suppose to eat the seeds. How do you eat them if you eat them.
Well nothing exciting going on here. But then there never is but it is just another quiet day.

I've never done one myself... so I wikied it!

"After opening the pomegranate by scoring it with a knife and breaking it open, the arils (seed casings) are separated from the peel and internal white pulp membranes. Separating the red arils is simplified by performing this task in a bowl of water, wherein arils sink and pulp floats. It is also possible to freeze the whole fruit in the freezer, making the red arils easy to separate from the white pulp membranes. The entire seed is consumed raw, though the watery, tasty aril is the desired part."

I'm not looking forward to grocery shopping this weekend. I have a busy weekend planned and only a few hours to get shopping done. I wish I could hire somebody to do it for me.

As for the pomegranite, here's a link to a youtube video. Copy and plaste it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk4A

I have a food for you to try!!!!!
Kiwi berries!!!! They're tiny kiwis that are about the size of grapes and they're delicious.
Anyway, food demon moved to my house apparently, so you should be doing great!
Sorry about your log in issues.
Had problems like that last week.
Anyway, I tried a new food and thought of you!!!!!!!

It's nice that Brianna comes with Angel. It seems just a few weeks ago she was at your place helping you set up your Christmas trees. I can't believe it's almost that time again! You're lucky to be able to play with a little baby. I'm having the baby blues right now and it's all my husband's fault!

I never have problems with Spark making me log in all the time. I've been having that problem with Facebook lately. It's frustrating!

Ha, ha, ha...I just got your sentence " It is nice to see them come and nice to see them go." My head is a little foggy right now because of my cold, but I got it. You're a funny lady Ms. Eleni!!

Spark has been fighting me this evening.Every time I tried to get to here it wanted me to log in again. Oh well.I am here now.
I have been playing catch up all day. I got behind on so much.
Most importantly I did not get my weekly pot of soup done when I should have. SO I hit the cream of mushroom soup for 2 days and let the food demon beat me 2 days in a row. I let myself not be prepared and I paid for it.
But my soup was made today and bagged and now I am set. Once we find what works for us we have to stay on top of things and don't falter. The fact that I haven't felt my best is no excuse.I still should have made the soup. I will not let that happen again. For me I have to have foods handy that will allow me to not get hungry and my homemade soup is essential.
I have put a set of hand weights out here next to where I sit on computer so I can lift them randomly during the day
I am watching The Biggest Loser and I really can't stand Tracy. I thought the gal last year was bad but this gal takes the cake and she keeps getting the advantage.
Ok I will not let my Food Demon beat me tonight. No way.Absolutely not. This is my day buster.

Oh, my friend...Itn't it wonderful when we can recognize what our "triggers" are that will allow the food demon to try to take control? When I blog today, I will share what I learned about that very same lesson!

Our journey will always be fraught with tests and trips and circumstances to alter our path, that is our "clear food path". So many times the Food Demon tries to trick us and trip us up. So many times we fail and fall.... but every time we get up; every time we say "no" to the Demon, we get stronger and stronger. I am so proud of you and the way you are taking control of your Journey!

Having the weights by your computer is a good thing...I think I will try that, too!

I can't stand Tracy either! I haven't seen the last 2 episodes (I DVR'd it) but I was hoping she would go. She doesn't deserve to be there!

I think we've all learned if we stray from our plan it's not a good thing. I've been horrible lately. My family and I have been sick and I haven't been exercising. Bad, bad me!

You'll get back on track, I know it!

Interesting! What type of soup are you making?? My hubby made broccoli cheddar soup on Saturday. We use 1% milk and 2% cheese & plenty broccoli. Oldest grandchild came over and hung out with us for a few hours. After dinner we made strawberry sherbert. Yummy - - Monday evening made peach sherbert. (One pound of frozen fruit, 1 cup of light yogurt, 1/4 cup splenda.) --So darn good.

You may have lost to the Demon a couple of days but your average is still way up there. You are doing great! I am another soup lover and usually have several kinds of healthy homemade soup in the freezer. My daugher and I each make huge pots of soup and share with one anoher for the freezer. She is a dedicated Sparker so it is all healthy.

Reading your blog encouraged me to make a pot of soup over the weekend! It will definitely become a habit.

I'm watching The Biggest Loser too - and I think Tracy is an evil woman!

I got a late start tthis morning.
I did find out what the catterpiller is.Some of you knew. It is a tobacco/tomato horn worm which should make a sphinx moth.Very distructive to plants.I don't think we are going to put it in a jar.It is still in large garbage can now.Bill did check other plants to see if there are any more.We do have one flower plant that something ate a bunch of leaves but he couldn't find anything.
I did beat the Food Demon and hopefully I can get a streak going.
I was a member of TOPS for many years and when I left the only thing I kept was my weight books. So when Bill asked me when I last weighed 277.2 I checked it out.The last time I was below 280 was December of 2000. My lowest weight since Jan of 1998 was 265 august of 2000.It looks like I was only in the 265 to 280 range for about 6 months and then it was above 280 and as high as 329.5. So my next goal is to get below that 265. Then to keep going.
I did some food tasting yesterday.
Here is the Florida Starburst Pummel grapefruit and a Chayote squash
Here is grapefruit half peeled so you can see how much pulp is around it
And here you can see it is so much smaller now
The taste was a tiny bit sweeter than some reds but not near as juicy. I will stay with my small ruby reds.
Here is the squash cut in half I sliced this and baked it in the oven until tender. It tasted very much like the yellow squash only a little firmer.I did eat a tiny piece raw and it was the consistancy of an apple. This I would eat again if I couldn't get yellow quash.
And here is the white asparagus. It tasted about the same. The outer covering was not as tender tho. I think I liked the green better overall.
So that is my taste tasting. I am running out of things to try at my store. There are a lot of lettuces I could try but I am hooked on Romaine. It stay nice and crisp.
Ok my friends. I need to go check my soup.I am making some gresh broccoli soup as I used all my soup from last week. Will have to make a pot either later today or tomorrow.Hope you are enjoying your day.
We are going out to check the plant that refuses to bloom and see if it has fell over yet in a little while.

    Hi Eleni
I'm a little late responding to this blog, but I read somewhere that the white asparagus are the same as green, but during the growth they are deprived sunlight and therefore don't contain chlorophyll. Since I think chlorophyll is beneficial to our health ie one of the reasons we like the dark green leafy stuff, I would think that the regular asparagus is likely better for us anyway.
I hate that they mess with our veggies, although I must say it is fun to try new ones.
Enjoy your reviews!
Thanks.

I love that you try new things! I love green asparagus... don't think I need to try the white! And overall, I don't care for grapefruit, so will probably pass on that, too... but I have always been entrigued by the Chayote... May have to try that!

Now let's get you down, down, down past that 265 mark! That's a great mini-goal!

You are well on your way to being below the 265 mark! My husband has no idea how much I weigh. I'm so embarrassed to tell him.

The white asparagus looks so strange. I've never seen it before. Thanks for sharing!
