Saturday weigh in Day

9 0
I lost 2.4#.I was hoping for a tad more but I am happy with this.I would have been happy with 1#. So my efforts are showing.
Today was my soup making day. I ended up with 25 cups.I put it in 2 cup bags to freeze. Each bag is 108 cal.I will add a little more broth to them when I use them but that will only bring it up 15 cal. I will use them for lunch and my night snack. I put a lot of fresh chinese green beans in them.I had some for lunch and it was good. I was even good about not eating a bunch of it.I normally would eat 4 or 5 cups but I didn't.
Bill picked me up some more finger one yogurt so I could taste test one of the fruit ones. I think I like the key lime the best.I throw one in the freezer about 20 minutes before I want to eat it and it is almost like sherbet. To me I think I prefer the Dannon fit and light 4oc the best. SO if you need extra fiber go for fiber one and just taste I will use Dannon.Except I do like the fiber one key lime.
The dannon is 60 cal and the fiber one is 50 cal.
It is another very rainy day. Here is a pic of a butterfly that is hanging on to a okra leaf. He is still there.I couldn't get a great pic as he is behind leaves. When it was raining and wind blowing he just hung on.
I just went outside and took this one
And here is pic of chinese green beans sitting next to some yellow wax beans so you can see how long they are
I am going to end this as I keep hitting wrong button. It is poring rain here so I think I am going to go take a nap.

2.4 pounds is great just emoticon
I think you are model in this way. You' re very patient , consistent, and keep your way to go. I wish I can be so strong as you are. We two very opposite, I cannot keep going in one way, be consistent, and keep control on my wishes. This is just reality, and I have to deal with this reality.

emoticon 2.4 pounds is great!!! Your efforts are paying off.

I would NEVER have thought of putting yogurt in the freezer!! How yummy!!! I don't freeze much (only things that are supposed to be frozen & meat for dinner). I never make a huge dinner and freeze the rest for later. It's not something I remember my mom doing and I never did. My monster-in-law freezes her bread and I remember eating over there it tasted nasty. I've been with my husband since 1993 and I still remember that, which is probably why I don't try to freeze things.

You have such great ideas!

Oh I'm going to try your idea of putting the yogurt in the freezer 20 minutes before eating it. Since it would be listed on my meal tracker and part of my plan, I won't forget that I put it there and leave it to freeze solid. And since I am trying to eat VERY slowly and take as much time as possible to eat my meals, likely putting it in when I start to prepare my lunch would do just fine. I'm going to get some low cal yogurt next time I'm shopping. Only have the loaded stuff the rest of the family likes at the moment.
Thanks for sharing.
My next soup is going to be squash. Not for a few more days as l am still finishing up my last batch of soup.
Glad the butterflies are back.
Have a great weekend.

Friday Blog 2

Friday, August 21, 2009

I said I would do a second blog so I could show my visitor ourside plus a flower from front of house.
I picked up some low cal and low sodium lunch meat and will put it in 2 oz packages for lunch next week.I got the kind they slice not prepacked. I am going to see how well a piece of the roast beef freezes.I also got a pack of wraps that are only 90 cal. Used one for supper with meat and lettuce and tomatoe and it made a big sandwich. I am doing good with my calories.I still have over 500 for later today plus 1/2 of a large tomato I already counted calories on. Will make a big pot of soup tomorrow . I also got some more fresh yellow wax beans and some fresh chinese long beans.
Ok Here are some of my rose buds from in the front.
And here is my visitor to pool edge.I had one not too long ago but this guy is a lot smaller

Ok I think that is enough from me today.I have so many emails and postings to catch up on. Have a great weekend

PS I forgot to say that the lid opener that did cost 39.99 was on sale for $10.

That's a BIG bird!! That's cool to have in your backyard.

I buy Roast Beef from Sam's Club and it's delicious! It almost melts in my mouth. I like to eat wraps too. When I eat a tortilla is fills me up more than bread. It's a different taste and texture too.

That can opener is a steal at $10!! My can opener was free, my husband!! emoticon We're almost always home at the same time so he's around to open the jars if I have difficulties.

On the first picture of the bird, it looks like you have one in the pool. Is that just the reflection?
We have something like these up here in Iowa, but they are a dirty gray and not were pretty. They will stop in the county dredge ditches that run through our fields.

Nice roses, do you cut them and bring them in the house? Are they very fragrant? I like my roses...$20. per dozen at the flower shop. LOL

Hope you have a great weekend.
God bless,

You are conquering the Food Demon!!!! You're doing so well, I'm proud of you. The way I am right now (PMSing) I would've gotten the french fries from McDonald's. They have the best french fries out of all the fast food places. MMMMMM. You have such control!!!

I used to be a scale slave myself. When I had my trainer she told me to throw away my scale because I was always on it. I decided not to weigh myself every day and for a while it was so hard. Now I look at it but I can look away and I don't have that urge to step on it daily.

I'm laughing about your comment turning into a tomato or a cucumber. Growing up my sisters always said "You are what you eat." Eating tomatoes and cucumbers are much healthier than chips and cookies.

Here are a few of the reasons that you are such an inspiration to me:

You went to McDonald's and didn't give in to your craving.
You have a goal and are taking steps every day to meet that goal (beating the demon)
You have infomercials because you want to make the lives of your sparkfriends easier.
You see the beauty around you (and help it grow) and share it with us so we can see beauty every day too.
You have a beautiful body and soul, and you aren't afraid to share that beauty via photos, blogs, and comments.

There are many more reasons, but I realize that I don't tell you nearly enough.

oh yeah, I love your haircut, it looks like it would be easier to handle the heat with.

Looks like we are going to have another rain storm later.I hope it waits until I can go get my hair cut. Had to go get a blood check earlier so I took my camera.Went to a local park on Lake Tarpon where people go to picnic and go out on lake. Here are a few pictures I took of the trees with the spanish moss hanging. One of picnic areas. Some flowers I saw.
I took some pic out front of house but will save them for tomorrow.

And your new heir cut. I am not going to have mine, it was good for me to have problems with last heir cut, so I try to stay out of this now. I love long heir, but I do not have patience to care for long heir. I wish I shampoo, conditioned, put some lotion to protect heir from sun, and I am done. I am very lazy person.

Made some banana muffins

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

I had some bananas that I needed to do something with so I looked for a recipe on spark. I found one called Banana Muffin with yogurt. I read the remarks and saw that someone used vanilla yogurt which I had. I rarely use flour so the calories in flour surprised me. 1 cup of flour is 400 cal.Yuck. But I proceeded. Since I quit baking a long time ago I could not find my muffin pans nor cup cake papers. But I found a hearts cookie pan so I used that. The calories are more than I like for a snack. But I will freeze then in 1/4 (39 cal) 1/2 (78) and maybe 2 whole at 155 cal. I did add a 100 cal bag of cranberries in there with about 50 cal of nuts.Next time if I do it again I will add some cinnamon.

My butterfly flowers are doing good but as I said the bees like them better so far
I used the new chopper today and it works great.I like that it has a little handle to lift blade out and handle on cup itself. It also has a thing to push food down which is nice.
Today is my Angel's birthday. She is 37 today. She is next to the youngest. Her younger sister is only 14 months younger.Angel has very dark hair and eyes like me and Rebekah is blonde and blue eyed.I always call them my day and night babies.
Yesterday was another good day.No upsetting calls. And I did good with calories again 6 0
Ok Have a great day. And thanks again to all of you for encouragement, goodies and faith in me that I can do this. You are the best

    Hi Eleni
Your daughters are gorgeous. Happy birthday to Angel.

I missed your blog again yesterday. My bad. Thanks for stopping by mine.

The muffins are a little high on the calorie:satisfaction ratio for my liking. For 155 cals I want something really yummy.
At least they're not the two million calorie cupcake that was in the news earlier this week. LOL Did you hear about that one. I'll post a link
Yuck on that one.

I posted my recipe on Sparkrecipes for "Diet Bran Muffins" which although not outstanding, seem to satisfy. I was surprised to see they came out at 100 calories though. There's hardly anything in them. I rarely make them, but they do freeze well.

Glad you are having another great day. Maybe you'll have to rotate your food demons according to how evil they are on any given day.

Have a great day!

I love my shaped muffin pans. I can use them for cookies too. I even have a smaller one that I use for special ice cubes when we have company over. They're also good for making molded chocolates, which I haven't done in a while. Too many calories. Your muffins look yummy! Do they taste good?

Happy birthday to Angel! It's funny how siblings can be so different. They say my daughter looks just like me and my son just like my hubby. My daughter has my husband's disposition and my son has mine. He's feisty just like me. emoticon
