Not much going on.It is a cloudy day with a few scattered showers.
Took pictures of plants I potted.I was surprised to see green growth on the strawberries in just one day. I thought I was finished with plants but forgot about some others i ordered til I got email saying they are on the way. By now you may have figured out that I tend to go overboard sometimes. emoticon
Ok I need to work on making up my meds for a few weeks.I hate doing it so I try to do several weeks at a time.

Quiet Day

Thursday, June 04, 2009

Not much of anything going on today. I am just waiting for Angel and Brianna to get here. They are going to do some housework and I will feed them pizza.Bill is picking up a greek salad on his way home.
Am getting back to normal fast.Altho had a very restless night last night but that happens a lot anyway.
The pictures today are just one of an okra leaf with rain drops and a squash bloom.

Birds in sprinkler

Wednesday, June 03, 2009

I waited to blog today as I did not have much to say.But my new plants arrived so I was on back patio taking care of them and some others I needed to take care. Bill decided to turn sprinkler on in back area.It came alive with birds.I got some good shots I want to share. They look a bit bedraggled but they were playing in water and their feathers are wet. They were having a ball.At one point we had 5 different kinds of birds getting wet at same time. Hope you enjoy

That last one is a big bird! Did Bill put the water on for your lawn or for the birds? Do you have a birdbath? I've been debating whether or not to get one.

How are you feeling? How is the bruising?

Not much going on. My blogs have to be boring as I do not do anything but hang out here at home.
I got a big pot of soup made with the broth I had in fridge.I always let broth sit overnight so I can skim the fat off. This broth had a lot of fat. Soup turned out good.Too good.I ate way too much. I still had 10 bags to put in freezer.
I worked on my garden journal book some more and added more pictures. I have 2 strawberry pants that need to be planted but they are still sitting here. Maybe tomorrow.
Bill is in charge of supper so I have no idea what he will bring home.As long as I don't have to cook I don't care.
I am very tired as usual but nothing much will help that.

The Orchids are beautiful. I have about 10 new buds on my white orchid so they will probably be blooming when we get home.

BTW - I love reading your blog so please don't quit.

Our Garden is doing awesome - everything is coming up and it looks great.

The soup sounds wonderful. I made chicken and dumplings last night and we finished it off tonight.

Take care and be blessed, my friend. Hugs, Sunny

You have the best flowers!! What is this one called?

My hubby is making dinner today (something easy as he can't make anything that requires a recipe) but I don't care as long as I don't have to make it tonight!!! It's nice when they help out, but I think my hubby needs to take pointers from Bill. He's so good!!!

Hi, lovely flowers! Sorry you are not back to normal yet. But give it time...just be patient...(this is coming from someone who has NO patients) However, I am learning
to have more!
What is your favorite flower? (I need answer, okay?)
Need to fix dinner...later. emoticon

I just realized I haven't blogged today. No changes today. I am about the same.I worked some on my garden journal updating some photo's. I did empty small freezer so it would defrost. The top shelf was bad.Bill finished it up when he got home. Now I will put stuff I crammed into fridge freezer back there.
Bill went out to causeway to check the plant we have been watching. It looks like it should bloom soon.Sure is taking a long time.
First pic I didn't know it would take so long to bloom.I have been watching this thing for several weeks now.
Ok I am going to go kick back and watch TV and work on my easy crosswords. If I can do them that means they are real easy. emoticon

Is it a Century Plant, also known as an Agave? My aunt and uncle had one sprout up this winter at their winter place in Apache Junction, AZ. I've never seen one by the water before? Where do you live? What area, I mean. My aunt couldn't believe how big and fast it grew. I should drive over to her winter place to look at it but it's a long drive. Maybe I can talk my son into driving over when he get's back to see if it is as big as yours has gotten. She'd love it if I sent her a picture of it since she's back in Iowa now.

Takes for more photos. I really look forward to see what you will put on next.

Can't wait to see this plant bloom!!

Yes, heritage tomatoes/peppers are the old timers no hybridization has been done to them.

Last night Michael (hubby) and I went to plant my other peppers. They have to have 500 feet in between each variety. That's a LONG ways, even out here on the farm!!! So we ended up taking 3 of them to his mom's. We had...no Michael had to dig up a space in the yard to plant them. Then we took the other 3 to our other farm where we use to live and planted them there. So now there is just another group of three that we need to find a home for. We are going to look around the fields outside here tonight and find an end spot.

I'm going to copy this to a blog and list the tomatoes and peppers that I have planted.

Keep us posted on the plant.

Hugs,
Char

It's almost there!! I can't wait to see what it looks like. It's really cool to see the progression. Thanks for sharing mom!! emoticon

I used to have horrible problems with my freezer at my old place but haven't had any problems with the new freezer since we moved. We have a chest freezer too and I've only had to defrost it once and we've had it for 8 years or so.

I enjoy crossword puzzles too. I like to think they keep my brain sharp. LOL I'm addicted to Sudoku. I have a handheld version that I keep in my bathroom. Some people read magazines, I play Sudoku.
