I am not doing much of anything today.Hubby is home and he has done everything around the house so there isn't anything for me to do. Isn't he great. He even put up a new light fixture in kitchen. It looks good and the kitchen is so much brighter.
Now he is working on changing out the dining room light. I'm getting tired watching him. emoticon
I did get the dress hemmed that I never got to yesterday.
But I am just resting and getting ready for tomorrow.Hopefully I will get the procedure this time and will come home the next day. now I laugh at 10 am when my internal alarm starts beeping. At least I know where the noise is coming from now. emoticon
Ok Let me check and see what picture I can post that I haven't before. This is one of Bill's favorites. It is a baby woodpecker sitting in a homemade feeder that he made.It is only baby woodpecker I ever got a pic of.It was taken thru the front window before we closed in porch and took windows out.

Well are you ready, I guess I am. What time do you have to show up?? Mine is be there at 7:30 a.m.
Hubby and I got up and had a good breakfast. Then we got things together to take to cemetary in Southeast Tulsa. I take my sprayer each spring to kill the weeds. Mom & Dad's plot is looking pretty good. I did the other 4 plots too. My sister did the flowers Saturday. I am glad we went today. The bronze head stone and marble base needed a good scrubbing. Yep, I took all the goodies to do this too.
I pray that you have no problems tomorrow at the hospital. I will be checking in on you Wednesday or Thursday.

That Bill is a keeper! Is it tomorrow that you go back to the hospital. I work Tuesday and Wednesday this week and have CPR and Crisis Intervention Training on

It has been a nice day but rain storms moving in.At least we got some sunshine for most of the day.
I finally got some of my lettuce thinned out. Other that that I haven't done much. I am going to hem a summer dress I ordered
I did sit out in sunshine for only about 5 minutes. It was way too hot. Will just continue to chill the rest of the night.Might try to quilt Bill into playing a board game later.
Here are some pictures of a tree in neighbors back yard. I see the tree all over the place and I have no idea what the name of it is. I always wondered what it was so now I will call my neighbor and ask what the name is.

Hope you are having a relaxing weekend. Nothing new here.

The flowers on the tree are beautiful. Did you call your neighbor and find out what kind it is?

At least the rain stopped by you for a while. The weather has been beautiful the last 3 days and I'm thankful for that. My sister had great weather for her weekend home. We went fishing for a while but it was a little chilly by the water so we stayed in the sun. I'm hoping tomorrow is just as nice as we still have worms to use.

I'm sure Bill will play a game with you. Sounds like you're good at convincing him.

Hi there - Just logged on a while before I jump in the shower. Woohoo - the garden is planted and we are calling it quits. We could plant more but as it is, we are gonna be really busy.

I wish I knew what this tree was. It is absolutely georgous. Let me know if you find out - OK.

Take care and have a good day off tomorrow. I am glad the rain has brought some relief to a very dry area.

Hugs, Sunny

Still Raining

Saturday, May 23, 2009

We are still getting lots of rain . I am getting tired of it but we do still need it.
I am feeling even better today. All the extra potassium must be working.
Not doing much today except went to grocery store.
I am doing better on my eating today but the real test will be tonight. I am also working on cutting way back on salt.I have gradually been using more and more. Will stop seasoning when cooking and just use a little when I plate mine.I bought 2 different Mrs.Dash and didn't like them. Bought extra Dannon light yogurt.I have the 60 cal and 80 cal packs. Will start having one in morning with banana for breakfast.
Thanks for all the well wishes again. The one good thing is I am not stressing out as much as I was.Everyone at that hospital is so nice. Our local hospital is a dump compared to care at this one. So i feel more at ease now. My last long hospital stay was a real nightmare plus seeing the not so good card that my sister got recently I have been a little paranoid.
My coneflower bud that I have been watching has finally bloomed. It is suppose to be a double but it looks like picture of single.
Some of my stuff I ordered the other day came today.I told Bill to hide computer and magazines when I get stressed out as I but stuff.
But I do like what came.A long light weight sleeveless dress.another grabber, long handled scissors for cutting toenail( Have to learn how to use them without cutting myself) I didn't have heart to tell Bill I have more plants coming.

I'm glad you are feeling better. I worry about the potassium too. Where I post my food it says I never even get close to the right amount of potassium. I wonder if I should worry. Its hard to get all the right stuff in when you only eat 1200 calories.
But I have dieted so many years 1200 is the only way I can lose weight.
I know your flowers are a joy to you. I have been cleaning the grass out of my flowerbed, stream, waterfall, whatever you call it. We got a bridge last year so then I had to have a stream for it to be over, then of course I had to have rocks, flowers, statues, etc. We are still working on getting it like we want it. I reckon something like this is ever changing. Are you ever satisfied with yours. I think working in the yard is harder than walking on the treadmill, bike, and weights. I know I'm sorer.
My husband says I'm using different muscles. They are different all right. About to kill me.
I pray all your test and whatever the doctors do goes well and you are back home tending your flower garden.

My friend lives in Jacksonville and she's so sick of the rain. She has pictures of the water just pooling. We told her she's going to have to build an arc soon!

I'm glad you're feeling better. Hopefully you'll be feeling much better after your procedure next week.

I heard that the Mrs. Dash was good. I've never tried it though. I'm a salt lover and salt almost everything. I know I shouldn't but I don't like bland food.

I agree with can't have Bill hide your computer because we'd miss you!!!!

Procedure was postponed-Complications

Friday, May 22, 2009

Well it has been a very tiring day and I am back home. Before the procedure could be started it was discovered that my potassium level was dangerously low. I was given pure potassium directly into the vein. This is extremely painful. But had to be done. Ice pack on site helps but not a lot. Only good thing is once iv is stopped pain stops immediately. I have to take a lot of extra potassium for the next few days and go back for procedure on Tuesday. I have a lot of pills to get down today . I was disappointed that it didn't get done but thankful they found the low potassium. Low potassium can kill you and can also put you in a coma. I also have to get my blood thinned back out and then do opposite on sunday. A lot to keep straight.
At least we won't have to do pre op next week.
Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts but it isn't over with yet.
I am going to go take a nap.I haven't done much but very tired.Low potassium will also make you tired.
But just wanted to touch base.

Eleni- I will continue to keep you in my prayers. I am sorry that you have to wait until Tuesday, though. Angi is right. Waiting for the surgery is one of the hardest parts. Hang in there. We are all here for you. Hugs, Annette

Wow!! The fact that you can be going through all of this and still think of your sparkfriends proves what an amazing woman you are. My problems keeping me from spark seems very immature after this. Thank you for putting it in perspective.

I am very glad that they found the low potassium level before they started the surgery!

I am sure that your doctor gave you a lot of information about potassium, but I found a website that lists foods that are high in potassium and how many mg of potassium each serving has.
And I am sure that if you look at the Mrs. Dash salt substitutes you will see that those are potassium iodine instead of sodium iodine, which is good for your potassium level, but they have a gross aftertaste that some people can't get past.

I am sorry that the surgery didn't happen though, I know that half the stress of surgeries is the waiting for them to start, so It sucks that you had to extend the waiting process.
You are in my thoughts. emoticon

That low potassium certainly could be playing with your energy level. I am so glad they found this out before the proceedure and that you will be able to address this before the proceedure. It is a dissapointment in some respects but a good thing in another respect. Have a good weekend as soon this will all be behind you.

MS.ELENI I am sorry that your procedure got cancelled. I too, take potassium 20 meq daily. I barely stay above border line. When mine got low I was so weak I could hardly sat up. It took me a long time to get potassium built up in my system and to feel well. Best wishes and prayer for you that you will feel better soon. I'm glad that you didn't have a heart attack.

I have a low potassium..I have to take 20mEq once to twice a day. The doctor says this is due to my systemic lupus..Several times I have had the potassium IV and it does burn...sorry you had to go through that..Bananas and green veggies have loads of potassium, especially broccoli and potatoes...

I am glad they found out that your potassium is low! Now they can correct it.

I take potassium pills every day - one in the morning and one at night. Even with the pills I am still borderline.

What type of procedure are you having done? Best of luck & prayers that all goes well for you Tuesday.
