I did sleep a little better. One of you suggested valerian root to help me sleep. I called my heart doc today to get his ok. I take so many meds that I do not even take over the counter anything without checking first.I did look on internet and it says that it is suppose to aid sleeping.
I made my own pasta sauce today and checked my calories. One can italian stye tomates, with 1 small can tomato sauce and 1/4 cup of tomato paste with spices makes almost 1 quart after using immersion blender. Mine is 30 cal per half cup versas 80 per half cup bertoli sauce. Very happy with that.
Ok I need to go start supper so I will leave you with these backyard pic. The blue jay had a big peanut in his mouth at first. The one hibiscus is different one on same bush as the other day.The other is my other huge bloom bush

I have taken valerian and think it has helped. Glad you have checked with your doctor first because as you already know even OTC and herbal remedies can have adverse reactions with drugs.
Sounds like your spark is still going strong . Way to go!

  Hi Eleni.........
Ken uses Melatonin on occasion when he has problems sleeping. It is mainly for falling asleep. It is supposed to be safe, but your Dr. will tell you if it isn't what you should be taking.
Your tomato sauce does sound good and good for you. You mentioned making beef for Bill yesterday which made me hungry for a good pot roast, so I put a Chuck Roast in the crock pot today before I left to volunteer and it melted in our mouths tonight!!! So good!!!!!
We are bird watching too as Ken set up a bird feeder outside our big front window. We are seeing such a good variety this year. We are supposed to get rain tomorrow, Friday, and possibly Saturday, so our snow cover will be history. It has been in the high 40s..........unusual for January!!! We can't get too spoiled though, because it is supposed to be 25 on Sunday. I hope it isn't like an ice rink after all the rain.
Take care........

  Hi Eleni..........
It was so terribly hot and dry in Wisconsin last summer, that I don't honestly mind the cold this winter..........maybe in March I will be changing my tune!!!

I could just reach in to your blog and grab that little Abigail and give her a hug. What a little peanut she is!!!

Miki has a problem with his back right knee and has trouble getting up onto the couch, so Ken built him a ramp. Tyke walked right up it and onto the couch and Miki is afraid of it!!! Maybe in a couple of days he will figure it out.

Take care and I hope you sleep better tonight.

Today has been better. Watching what I drink and only drinking diet ginger ale which seems to help.
I wanted to share a few pics. This is my huge hibiscus and my variegated orchid that has been in bloom for months.

And here is Roxy. Since Bill put tile down she hasn't been able to sit on floor between my legs as she would slide all over the place. I laid a towel on floor and she loved it.Got her ears rubbed and then laid down and took nap. She was a happy camper.

Next door there is a large growling big dog. Roxy and him were running back and forth across fence. When his owner called him in she stood up on fence. Like she was saying "Come back and play growling" She doesn't usually do that.

Am making baked fries and baked fish tonight. Doing it the way I have seen on food network. I usually just put it on non stick foil. This time I have them on a rack.Suppose to brown better on both sides. Will see if it makes any difference.
So far still enjoy having Bill home. emoticon
Hope your day went well.Need to go check supper

  Hi Eleni........
I am glad to read that you are feeling better today. I was really concerned that you were getting the flu. It is really going around here and we are trying as hard as we can to avoid crowds.
I love looking at your flowers as it will be several months before I see mine again. That orchid is unreal!!!
We have hard wood floors and some tile in the kitchen area, so Tyke and Miki head for the braided rugs. It is funny when they see a squirrel out the window and scramble to get to the front door. They slip and slide all the way!!!
Must close and get supper ready. Take care.

Wasn't going to blog but had to show Landon with his big boy haircut. And Abigail with her moms high heels.
I thought it funny that Landon's daddy is one that didn't want to cut his hair. He looks like a boy now. And Abigail has such a happy smile

Bill cut the legs on stool he got me so now it isn't too high. I have a stool in bathroom, kitchen and utility room.Seat broke on one.
Also cut a hanger down and I hot glued it together. Will hang it on cabinet door when cooking for calorie list or recipe. Tried to get a baby hanger but Felicia didn't have any. This will work good

Short blog

Today is grocery day and Bill just got back with them. Wasn't a big list for once.
Bill's cabbage soup is so simple. it is just cabbage, potatoes, little onion and carrots(can use chunks or the straw kind or sliced) some green beans, small piece of ham chopped up. cooked in either water or chicken broth. He used chicken broth. I make same thing but don't always use any meat. If I do it is just a couple of pieces of bacon. I put a few spices in mine. It is good but doesn't stick to my ribs so to speak and I get hungry again. Same thing happens with chinese food.

Stomach is much better . I use milk for first pills of the day and drinking diet ginger ale. Plus a yogurt during the day. Bill got some 1% milk today. Can have more milk for less calories. I also have 2 oz orange juice and 1/2 banana for breakfast.
Have a good Bill story I forgot to tell you about. I mentioned I wanted to boil some eggs so he got it going. They started boiling just when Rebekah came with Abigail to pick up Kayla. After awhile they heard a popping noise. Bill went to kitchen to look around. Yep eggs were out of water and popping. And yes I did tease him but not long. I admitted I had done it before and probably everyone that cooks has at some time. I made some the other day. I use the timer on my phone. He was relying on remembering. Lots of luck there. emoticon
Not much going on.It is nap time for me.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Oh Still tracking calories. Went over yesterday but not bad.Still much less than I was.

I am not going to walmart. Just think this is cute
