Friday the 13th

I am not sure what to write.I am in a very crappy mood.Aggravated at myself. I failed at not eating after 10 again. I was doing great at 10.Calories in good range etc. Then 10:30 it all went you know where.I know.Don't beat myself up.We all say that to each other but we also know easier said than done. Bill and I were joking about locking cabinets and chaining refridge. But like Bill said I would probably figure out a way to still get to food. I guess maybe it isn't too bad if we joke about it a little.Even that keeps me aware of my stupidity. Ok As we say way too much. It is a new day and a new chance to get it right.
I did get my sit and fit done which is better than yesterday. So starting day off better. Ok enough pity party.I don't like reading them so I will stop.
My sister is having ablation done on her heart at noon. That is where they shock the heart back into rythum.Sometimes it works great and person doesn't have to take meds. She finally told them to quit giving her so much meds to relax her. I don't expect her to get out of there before next week.
Where I will end this on a good note. Here is a picture I took thru window of some sparrows on edge of pool.Notice one peeking out of hole
And here is one of a mocking bird sitting on Delilah

OK. After all you have been through, the least of your worries is the self imposed 10:00 curfew. you already know that.
You got your sit and fit done and you know where you messed up, makes it easier to fix.
Don't feel bad about a bummer blog. We all have them and if you dont get it out you cant get it over with. I didn't take it as a pity party. I take it as your having a hard time right now and rightly so.
Be nice to you.

I will say it to, "Don't beat your self up."

That said and done. I am a late night eater. I don't usually go to bed until at least 11:00 pm. I have to have a snack of some type before I go. I just plan for it. I have a list of several snack on my refrigerator. Some are better for me than others. I scan the list, then decide on what I want. I am getting better at picking the things that are better for me like fruit. Some times I splurge and eat ice cream. In fact, it is just about that time. I will have to go get a snack then head off to bed.

You really should not beat yourself up for eating after 10:00. You have been through a lot and each day is a new one. Maybe eat less during the day and save those calories for eating later. If you know its hard to not eat at night, cut down during the day and see if it helps. That way you aren't going over your calories and you won't be upset that you ate. Just take it one day at a time. I hope you have a good weekend and I would love to be able to give you a hug in person, but here's one going out to you via computer. I am thinking good things for you and your family. (((HUGS)))

You've been through a really stressful time - the kind that throws everything out of whack. It takes more than a few days to get back to your normal rhythm of daily life. Take it one day, one meal at a time. Everything will fall back into place.

Love the mockingbird pic. That's the state bird of Texas, you know. I may live in Kentucky but I'm a Texan and always will be. emoticon

I got up late today and am still moving slow. Once again I did not do my goal of not eating after 10.I know I can do it because I was doing it every night when Joanne got sick.So I am not giving up and hope tonight will be the night. Just talked to her and she is still very tired and not walked yet.I think she is tired from pain med that is making her sleepy. Not sure why she is still getting strong pain med. They should get her up to walk today.
I did not do much yesterday as I am extremely tired.Tired today too so will take it easy.I have learned to listen to my body and when I feel like this I know to take it easy.
I am going to get all our tax stuff ready today so Bill can drop it off.
It is a dreary foggy day so far but should clear up later. It is back to being very warm during the day.
I just saw where I am White Hawk of the Day.That is always a boost to motivate.

You've had a lot of stress. That takes its toll on our bodies. It will take time to recover. You're right to listen to your body. You'll get back on track because you know how and you want to do it.

Just take it easy and don't beat yourself up about eating after 10:00. Right now you need to get your body back on track and getting some rest after being at the hospital so much. Everything else will come in time. Hope you have a great day and I am glad its getting warmer. Wish it was here. Take care and get some rest.

Your friend,

Kim emoticon

Beautiful Day

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

It is a beautiful day again.
Just talked to my sister and she is ok.Very tired and hasn't stood up yet.But I am sure they will work with getting her out of bed today.i will be staying home and checking on her by phone since she is in regular room. She will have my brother sitting with her until he leaves on Sat. I will stay away from hospital unless she needs me. I can not take a chance on catching nasty colds that are going around and a hospital is where all the sick people are.
As long as I know she is getting better and I can talk to her I am not needed there.I was there every day for 12 days.I need to recoup myself now and get back on track.

I made a new pot of soup today.I ran out of all I had froze and there was no time to make more.So now I have healthy soup again. I am back to counting calories and it was a big number yesterday but so far I am doing good. Once we lose our focus it takes a little time to get back in the groove. But I am working on it.
I did get to do a lot of reading this past week.
I really liked Water for Elephants about a 93 year old man telling about his younger years in a circus. It probably is not suitable for children as there is some violence and some graphic sex. Not much but it all depends on what offends you.I wasn't offended. The ended is a surprise and very unexpected. Plus I read 2 other books. So I got caught up with my reading

I am so pleased that you are out of the hospital. There are so many bad bugs in there that you just don't need to be around.
Soup sounds great, and homemade even better.
Take care.

Eleni, you sound so much more relaxed in your post and i'm so glad to see you home and doing your own recuperating...

we had that awful weather come to us from OK... it hit, rained hard for a minute or two and then moved on and the sun came out... an amazing difference from what it did in Oklahoma... and i'm sooooo thankful...

the book sounds good to me... i jotted it down... who is the author... i'm going to look for that when i'm finished with the Grisham book i'm reading now...

hugs to you... Jeanne

We had gorgeous weather yesterday. It reached 60 degrees which is uncommon. Today it was a high of 40 and rainy. They're calling for snow flurries tonight and it's going to be in the 30's the rest of the week.

I LOVE to read so I'll have to see if the library has that book. Sounds interesting. What other books did you read?

I hope your sister keeps improving! I'm glad you're able to have some time for you.

Glad to hear that Joanne is still improving and that you are back on track.
Our prayers are still with you all.
We has stormy weather last night, but nothing severe here, up towards OK City was bad. We had wind, hail and much needed rain.
Today has been beautiful, a little cool but sunny.
Glad you got caught up with reading... I am rereading King of Torts by John Grisham.

A beautiful day, indeed! I'm so glad Joanne is doing well and you are taking time for yourself now. You'll be back on track in no time. A friend of mine read Water for Elephants and liked it. I haven't read it yet. We had rain yesterday and today and have severe thunderstorms forecasted for tonight. I think it's time to give Kentucky a break in the weather. It's not supposed to be so extreme here!

It is another good day.Sister is still doing well. In fact I won't be going up there til 3 this afternoon. I only stayed a couple of hours yesterday. They may end up putting in a pacemaker but that is no big deal.
I am back tracking food and getting slowly back into exercise. I did not do well with not eating after 10 but I will do it tonight. It took me a few trys before I did it a few weeks ago.
So things are improving here for me.
Valentines day is almost here and I have nothing for my hubby. I wanted to get him a Wii that has bowling as a combo valentines and birthday but not sure if I will be able to get it. I may have to tell him and have him go get it.
The new grandson is doing good.I don't know when I will be able to hold him. But thats ok.I will eventually.
It is a beautiful day here today.

So thankful that Joanne is improving so fast.
Now you can get back to taking care of Eleni! Isn't it funny that we can't multitask and do things for ourselves when we are taking care of others! I'll bet we aren't the only ones.

Our weather is stormy so i'd better get off. We had rain and hail about dinner time. Ted took pixs of our front yard covered with hail! It was up in the 70's today...just right for storms in our area.
Take care...

You'll get back on track with that night time eating. It's so hard to get back into the swing of things again.

The Wii could be great exercise for you too while Bill is working. I love the tennis, but my husband and I get too into it. That game system is addicting. My husband has a fishing game he likes to play too.

I'm glad your sister is doing better.

Take care!

The birds are singing

Monday, February 09, 2009

The birds are singing and the sun is shining and my sister is still ok.What could be better than that.
I am getting back on track for me today. I still will be spending afternoons at hospital with sister. I told her yesterday that I didn't give my nap time up just for anyone. She told me to get in bed with her and take a nap. I am sure that would go over real good with nurses.LOL He r heart rate is still all over place but meds can control that. So I feel like such a load has been lifted. I have been pushing myself but soon can get caught up with my rest.
I told her I sent her pic all over the world. She just shook her head and pointed a finger at me.LOL
If I repeat myself just ignore me. Brain is still on tired side.
I am back counting calories today and did my sit and be fit. Will have to slowly get back to exercising again.
Thanks again to all of you. And double thanks to my extra special friends. emoticon emoticon

I'm so glad to hear she is doing better. I know right where you are, my friend. My nephew had to go back into the hospital over the weekend. I think they will finally just take his entire colon. Hopefully he can get off this carousel of pain and hospitalization! Give your sister a hug for me!!
