We had very little bad weather here.Sporatic rain and wind. The storm that came thru a few weeks ago that did so much flooding was worse. This is only aftermath I have

I have only 2 coneflowers when I usually have several..Both are in process of blooming

Did you see the bee

These are not my pic. Most came from face book

This was an email I got.I did put it on facebook.I loved it.

Whether you own a dog or not, you must appreciate the efforts of this
owner to sell her dog. Look at the picture and then read the sales pitch below

Dog For Sale . Free to good home. Excellent guard dog.
Owner cannot afford to feed Jethro anymore, as there are no more drug
pushers, thieves, murderers, or molesters left in the neighborhood
for him to eat. Most of them knew Jethro only by his Chinese street name,

Ho Lee Schitt

This describes me

Hopefully something here made you smile. You guys are the best.

  Hi Eleni.........
I am so glad that the storm missed you. It is always hard for me to believe, but our weather is also affected and we will get some of your rain this weekend.
My appointment with the GI specialist went well today. I feel much better after talking to her.
Loved your dog pictures. What would we do without our dogs? Tyke is 9 years old and still HATES a bath. I gave him one yesterday and he still isn't speaking to me!!!
Later.........

Bill Has Back Yard Ready for Storm

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Bill has been busy all morning getting back yard ready. Storing stuff.Bringing plants in house. Tying stuff down. Can only do so much. High winds will hurt a lot of my plants.Only ones that come in house are orchids and Christmas cactus.
Check out how Bill tied down gazebo. He took cloth top off.

Even tho I do take pics of bugs etc I am scared of most of them.As long as they are on other side of window I am fine. When he brought in plants I expect a lizard or two but they just hide. BUT.As I was sitting here I look up and very close to my window was one of those sticky frogs. I found I can move faster than I thought. I hate frogs. Bill came in and caught it but I just now heard one. I think I will go in other room and close door to out here.
Here is my largest Christmas cactus and the big momma sister A and B.

Here are the others he brought in.

Ok Misc pictures

Unless it turns we will only get some stormy rain.Right now it gets more to west of us. Will know more when it gets in Gulf but I am not worried. It got my patio cleaned up. emoticon

It looks like the brunt of the storm missed you, so I hope plant damage wasn't too extensive! That Christmas cactus is gorgeous! I had one that was white before I left Texas and gave it away. I wish that I'd never had to give away all my plants, but I was changing to a northern clime. God speed to you and Bill! emoticon

I have NEVER seen such a large Christmas Cactus!!!!! I think that you have your plants on steroids!!!!! The Orchids are still beautiful.
The weathermen on this mornings national news said that the storm should go West of you. I hope they are right.
Take care my friend. I will be watching your weather.

I spent three hours picking up and collapsing and storing stuff in shed and garage. Got 15 empty gallon jugs down from attic and filled them for wash water, and filled two 30 gallon garbage cans (clean ones) for backup extra water. I reinstalled the accordion shutter to protect the front door.

Then I finished off by filling both car's gas tanks. After that I tuned in on the weather, and they're showing the storm moved west now.

I guess it was all good practice.

Friday-- New Recipe

Friday, August 24, 2012

Trying a new recipe. It is not low calorie. It is pasta and cheddar cheese. It smelled good when I got it all together. I got it off of pinterest on web.Saw it on facebook. It is called Chicken Spaghetti. It should have cheddar cheese in title. It said once you got everything together it could be froze for up to 6 months. I put 1/2 in a casserole dish and half in a big baggie. It makes a lot. If it is good I will have a ready to throw in oven meal.I wish I had a good casserole dish that could go from freezer to oven. It says to cook for 45 minutes but I will check it at 30 minutes.Everything is basically already cooked. If we don't like it I will give it to Angel.
Waiting to see where hurricane will head.Right now it looks like it will pass west of us. Bill is getting set up just in case. As long as he gets something on front windows I am fine. Most people that grew up here don't get antsy but Bill does. I am not stupid.I believe in having extra food, water and lighting. It would be foolish not to.
Have been doing nothing the last few days. Have cooked supper most nights but not all.
Bill picked up a movie from red box and our netfllix came. My eating isn't good. Letting life get in my way. Not gaining much but not releasing any.

Pasta and cheese can be high calorie, but I always use fat free cheese, and it melts now just like the high calorie stuff. I hope you and Bill both like it. It's always a shame if you don't like what you cooked.

I use to live in Florida for 20 years, Fort Walton Beach and Gainesville. Don't try to ride it out if the hurricane comes ashore near you! We had to flee once, and I'm thankful! I got to see relatives and missed the tornadoes and sea surge the hurricane threw off. I loved Florida;s plant and bird life, but I don't miss the weather! Good luck, friend... emoticon

  Hi Eleni.........
Pasta and cheese= Comfort Food. Your recipe sounds very good.

We just returned from the lake. We took brats with us and grilled them right on the pontoon. Ken found a little grill last summer that hooks right on to the railing of the boat and we often have hamburgers, hot dogs, or brats on it. We also brought a macaroni salad, and a lettuce salad, and a fruit salad to go with the brats. It was fun and much cooler on the water. Friends went with us who haven't boated in quite a while and they didn't want to leave. When we docked the boat, they asked if we could just sit on it a bit longer and talk. We did until the mosquitos decided to join us.

I am hoping that the storm completely misses you. Good for Bill to be ready just in case though and you for having extra supplies on hand.

Have a great weekend.

That does sound good. I was just looking at a featured SparkRecipe that sounded similar. You cook chicken breasts and penne pasta, then put in a dish, cover with light Ragu sauce and bake, with some cheese on top at the end. It sounded tasty--I may try it this weekend. For freezing, you could always use a sturdy foil pan--nice and easy, and no washing up!

I hope Isaac keeps his distance!

  Hi Eleni.........
I love to look at old pictures. Even though Elizabeth is only 5, we have pictures of her on our screen savers that were taken at birth and forward to the present. It is funny to look at some of the pictures of her when she was 2 and 3 and starting to really show what kind of personality was on its way..........There is one of her with a pacifier in her mouth and it looks just like she is thinking........."When you pull this out of my mouth, I am going to start talking and never quit." And.........that is exactly what has happened.
I am hoping that the storm misses you. Take care.
