Rainy Saturday

Saturday, June 23, 2012

It is a rainy day and should be for the next few days. We were lucky enough to get groceries and get home before rain started. Have all groceries put up but have a few things that need washed and wrapped.
Have been using the laptop to download pictures but haven't got it down pat yet.
It is almost my nap time so I will share pics real quick and hit the bed. With the rain it should be a good time to nap.
If you are on facebook you have seen some of these. This is a low calorie supper i threw together last night. It was a lot of food for a little over 300 calories. I have made just about the same thing using shrimp but i used a can of black eye peas.It is just cabbage, little carrot, celery,,onion cooked and then added tomato sauce, little broth and beans and simmering to heat thru and get liquid to where I want it.

Abigail

Have a great weekend.

  Hi Eleni.......
When we were watching the weather tonight, I noticed that a hurricane is hovering near you.........I am assuming that is where all of your rain is coming from. I wish we could get some of your rain. We haven't had any for weeks and everything is so dry. We water every day, but the plants are in a holding pattern.......they aren't growing and don't look as good as they would after a rain.
Your supper looks delicious and so does Abigail.
I love to sleep when it is raining too. It is so relaxing to hear the rain.
Take care........

If you saw what I can do to plants you would cry Eleni. 99% of mine are dear unless my dear hubby takes over. lol I am really good at cleaning up after he tends to them but the rule at our house is Linda does NOT TOUCH them. lol I will never get tired of looking at your beautiful plants/flowers/butterflies/birds. You do good. ((HUGS))

I hope someday to have a garden as beautiful as yours! I adore roses! I adore flowers of any kind (lilies, honey suckle, roses, etc) the more fragrant the better! I want the fragrance of my flowers to greet visitors to my home, even as they are approaching!

I am aware that roses take particular care. I've killed enough to know. My mother use to fertilize her Mr. Lincoln hedge with egg shells and coffee grounds and spray for spot. My dad use to drive rusty nails into the soil beneath his hydrangeas....

Someday... In the meantime, thanks for allowing me to walk in your garden!

Hello

Thursday, June 21, 2012

I forgot about blogging yesterday til it was late and I was tired.
Not much going on today.
Tonight is Bill' Domino night so I came up with an idea for me. I made some mini pizza's for myself.
I took some bagel tops and browned them first. While they were browning I mixed some marinara sauce and mushroom together.( I had some marinara cups from dominos in freezer) Once bread was brown I put sauce on top and laid a slice of fat free cheddar cheese on top as I have no mozzarella in the house. Turned out ok.A different cheese would have tasted better. But 450 in calories is better than Domino's.

Bill went to run an errand and brought me home some flowers

I think this is my madarda plant about to start blooming.

Butterfly

Really nothing going on today.Hope you are having a good day

  Hi Eleni........
I didn't get to reply to your blog last night because Elizabeth stayed overnight and we played until almost 10:30PM.........way past her bedtime, but we were having fun.

Your mini-pizzas sound yummy. I will give them a try.

Bill is such a sweetheart to be bringing you flowers all the time but..........then you are his sweetheart, so it makes sense.

Elizabeth is still here, so I must close for now.

Take care........

    Hello Eleni!
Your mini pizza's look delicious and I just happened to have had Weight Watchers pizza tonight for my supper . . . coincidence!

Love, Love your photos! Beautiful flowers from Bill, I haven't had any from my hubby in a long time so I appreciate looking at yours. I used to get one red rose, "just because" but since he got sick 3 years ago, he doesn't seem to think/remember so I don't remind him. I'm happy for the years he gave them to me. Enjoy yours!

Tuesday Much Better Day

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

I was on the puny side yesterday but much better today.
Bill came home early and ruin my surprise. He loves what we call foil dinners. It is the same thing I make all the time in oven only in individual foil packets. Works better for me anyway.Easier to count the calories.
The hibiscus Bill got me bloomed today and it has the largest blooms altho the one I showed yesterday is fairly large too.It is almost 8 inches across. From a distance it looks completely yellow but it isn't.

  Hi Eleni.......
Two things in your blog made me smile.........1. YOU are feeling better. and 2. Any time you put a picture of Abigail in your blogs, it results in an instant smile.

My 2nd PT went well today. I learned lots of new exercises and the ones I practiced from the first week were done with less pain. I won't say NO pain, but "No pain, No gain" applies with PT so I hope I am on my way to a Rotator Cuff Recovery WITHOUT surgery!!!

Must close, as Ken has brought a movie home for us to watch. THAT is always an adventure as I NEVER know what he will pick out?????

Later.......

Abigail is a doll Eleni and the flowers are beautiful. My hibiscus hasn't bloomed yet but it is growing.

My hubby fixes whatever fresh veggies (zucchini, yellow squash, egg plant, carrots, onions, asparagus, grape tomatoes, etc) in foil and it is so good. What seasoning do you put on yours?
