Haven't done anything today but hang out with Bill and watching Tv. He even watched 19kids and counting that I taped and a special on their friends the Bates. Very unusual for him. He doesn't watch any reality shows.
He has decided I am going outside tomorrow if he has to drag me kicking and screaming. So I guess I will be out in gazebo for awhile tomorrow.
Weather is still great.
Felicia just sent me a text message showing Abigail walking.Still not real steady but will soon be running.
Ok I got nothing today emoticon

  Hi Eleni.......
The Gazebo is calling you...........you will love being out there among all of your beautiful flowers and may even feel better. I hope so.
We had Elizabeth with us all day today. I am ready for bed.......but it is a "Good Tired."
Felicia better have some good running shoes.......Abigail is just getting started. Cute picture and such a sweet smile.
Have a good weekend. We are going out tomorrow night for my birthday. The place we are going to takes your age and that is the percentage you get OFF of the meal of your choice. It is the one time that getting older pays off.....

    Fabulous picture of Abigail!

Are you staying in because you're sick or depressed? If the weather is good it might be nice to get out for the fresh air - and will help both mood and body a bit. :)

I bet Abigail is a pistol and before long will be giving everyone lots of exercise. lol Remember chasing our little ones ? years ago? I used to threaten to put mine on leashes when we went somewhere to slow mine down.

My goodness.I didn't realize it was Wednesday already.
Brianna came and did her weekly chores for me. I am very lucky to have a grand daughter that wants to help.
her mothers boyfriend Steve brought home some onions from a farm yesterday and sent me three. They are strawberry onions.Learn something new every day. The big strawberry farms plant these around and throughout their fields to keep bugs and rodents out. In order to show how big they are I set a normal size cup measuring cup next to them.I have a pot of french onion soup simmering now.

Here are two mockingbirds doing the mockingbird dance

the winner

And Heidi sent me these of Landon. It is his first day at some sort of pre school. He was all tears at first but when she picked him up he was excited and ready to go back again

Oh I do have something I have been wanting to share for weeks and keep forgetting.Several weeks ago when we ordered take out from Olive garden I did mine by nutrition list they have. The one thing that bothered me was the calorie count for soup. I thought it must be way more than what web site said. So I sent an email asking if numbers were per serving or as served. This is what I got back
Dear Eleni:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding our serving sizes.

The nutritional information we have available is based on the entrée that is brought to you as described in our menu. We consider one entrée and all its contents to be one serving.

We appreciate your interest in Olive Garden. If we can answer any other questions, please contact us. In the meantime, we will look forward to a future opportunity to serve you in our restaurants.

I just thought that was interesting.

This is the first I have heard of "Strawberry Onions," but I have heard of using some plants to ward off bugs and critters - just never onions. I hope the soup is good, and you finally start to feel better. Maybe it's oak pollen - that's what bothers me and I take a 24 hour antihistamine to feel normal.

My Ex hubby sent us some of those strawberry onions last winter from Florida along with oranges, tomatoes, lemons and KEY LIMES!! Yummers!
I made homemade potato soup with some, made sparks patty melts with the grilled onions on them, then added some to my Swedish meat loaf. The final one was sliced into thin rings for homemade giant subs!

You are blessed with a great GD!!
Olive Garden would not dare post their actual findings,, The sodium, calories form a bowl is probably about 4-6 servings!! Yet another reason I never go there..
Give me a mom and pop joint anytime,, safer and made with love..

Sorry my blogs are not every day and not very positive. I never feel good but this cold has done a number on me. It seems like more naps is the key. It didn't help that neighbors teenage son was yelling screaming and cussing at 2am. I feel for the mother .She is a single mother to him and her two teenage daughters just had a baby each. I would be running away from home if I were her.
No news on our grand daughter but Brianna took her parents yesterday so they could get an vehicle. Bill and Angel and others have been driving them everywhere since she had car wreck. So that is one less thing to worry about.
Angel went with 2 helpers and worked on Joys house. No wonder she has been so sick.I am pushing hard for her to get rid of two dogs.If she doesn't I will.
Bill is cooking so it will be publix. He should be here soon.
Just found out my living room DVD didn't change time. OOPs
Ok I am still doing good with fluid.I am staying around 120 oz. or less.Way over 64 but way less than I was. Food isn't too back.Only tracking water right now
Hope your day was good.
Ahhh Here comes supper

Wow, that's so much water. I would feel like I'm drowning.

My kids are always on my mind, too. It's hard thinking about their worries and not making them your own. Today we have a lot of my son's medical care lining up. He has to have an MRI today, over a year late. I am holding my breath. I don't get much time off from work so husband is taking him.

I hope you get better soon and that the neighbors settle down. What a life they are having.

Since my scale is broken I found out how much I weighed today at the doctor. YIKES!! I'm 5 pounds less than I was when I first started Spark years ago. I need to stop working so much OT so I can cook dinner again.

Keep those naps and chicken noodle soup coming!

  Hi Eleni.........
Isn't it frustrating to have poor neighbors. One of the reasons we moved to the country was because of the horrible neighbors we had in town and now we have neighbors across the field from us that think it is fun to go "Mudding" at 12:30 AM. I can hear them with our windows closed and a fan on!!!!! It is maddening. Aren't people taught to think of others anymore? I guess not!!! I do feel sorry for the single mom, but when did it become OK for kids to bring all of their mistakes home and expect their parents to take over???? What ever happened to consequences for behavior??? You can tell that you struck a nerve can't you......sorry.
I wish there was something I could do to help you get rid of that cold. Just take care of yourself and don't get too stressed with all that is going on. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I felt like my nose would hit the keyboard yesterday, so I moved to the recliner and napped for an hour. I'm having the same problem today. My blood pressure was 101/54 when I checked it yesterday - I learned that when I tend to go to sleep sitting up the blood pressure is low. Standing up and walking around helps, but napping is good too.

  Hi Eleni.........
The Cleome are "Leggy", but it sure didn't stop them from blooming!!! I know that they would do better if they were thinned and probably even better if they were right in your ground soil. They are tough little flowers and over the years I have experimented with planting them in crowded conditions, shady conditions, lots of sun, near the house, out by the other gardens, etc. We have even had some show up in the woods........either the wind or the birds carried the seeds down there. You should get some shades of pink and lavender too.
I LOVE the picture of Abigail.
Hope you feel better soon. That cold just doesn't want to leave you.

Butterflies Are Coming Back

Sunday, March 11, 2012

They like the new plant Bill got. Hoping I am feeling well enough to get them repotted. Bill said he will do it but I have to be there to tell him what to put where. Still have this cold and not up to my usually crappy self. Took 2 naps yesterday.
Miss Roxy was very busy this morning after Bill left. I am leaving it for Bill to see.

Hope you are having a good weekend

  Hi Eleni.......
I had a feeling the new red plant that Bill bought for you would be the one that attracted the butterflies first. They and the hummingbirds seem to hit the red blossoms first in my garden too. We are having such a warm spell, that I washed the car with no coat on today. While out by the driveway, I noticed that several of my Hostas are already sending up shoots and all of the bulbs on the South side of the house are green and ready to bloom. It was like we didn't even have a winter this year.
Today, Tyke took a pair of my socks and hid them because I didn't let him walk down to the mailbox with me. I am sure that this is Roxie getting back at Bill. They are so smart!!!
Take care of yourself.
