Dreary day Pics

Tuesday, February 07, 2012

It is a dreary day but I did get a few pcs. I was bored and noticed leaves wih rain drops so I figured why not.

This is some type of tiny flower clusters that cover the neighbors very large tree that hangs way over on our side.Makes a nice shaded area.

This is just different views of flowers Bil brought me

And another of Landon

And to prove Bill spoiles Roxie.Sorry it is a little blurry as I used my phone and it takes terrible pictures

They take naps together
And speaking of naps.It is time for mine. Hope your day is going good

Christie is usually sleeping in my lap or Louie's..

  Hi Eleni........
Your camera is great..........or is it the photographer???????

Ken naps with our dogs too. They are like bookends. There is nothing better than curling up with the dogs for a nap when it is dark and dreary outside.

Hope you had a good rest.

I took pictures of my cherry tomatoes with raindrops on them and that made lovely pics, just as yours are here of the flowers Eleni.

Got a giggle out of Bill & Roxy napping together, that's just like my husband and our dog, lol.

Love the flowers from Bill, he is such a thoughtful person.

My day is okay, could be better but . . . can't be great all the time.

Your flowers are just beautiful but you can keep the snake as I don't like them at all. It's truly amazing how fast time does fly now that I'm older as a year is not as long as it used to be--LOL!

The baked wings sound really great. I'd eat them, but HSB would b**ch and moan about them.....He makes the wonderful deep fried, hot sauce drenched kind. They are good, but I can't do that very often! emoticon

I enjoyed the game though we aren't football fanatics. I LOVED the peace and quiet of just the hubs and I and of course our little brown fur cat watching it together. I thought Madonna did a great job although I thought she looked a little uncomfortable with her dance moves in the beginning.

I remember years past when we always hosted a HUGE FOOTBALL party and Don made big pots of his fireman chili and cornbread. The house was stuffed full of people and the next day was a full day of clean up...oh...how I hated the bathrooms such a nasty job of clean up from the men that missed the toilet bowl with all the beer they drank.

Been there...done that...with all the craziness we have during the week with demanding customers...I'm happy...actually DELIGHTED to have my Sundays full of quiet time!

  Hi Eleni..........
Ken is watching the Super Bowl, but I lost total interest when the Packers didn't make it. I did watch Madonna at half-time and really liked her selection of both songs and dances. It's the best half-time show I have seen in years. I do like football but actually enjoy watching the University of Wisconsin most of all.

That is the cutest Abigail picture so far. Elizabeth used to wear her hair like that too and I loved it. She also wore it in 2 spouts and looked like a cartoon character.

I finished cleaning my house today and am tired again tonight. I am going to be gone five out of seven days this week, so wanted the house to be somewhat in order before the week starts.

Have a good week.

We had no desire to watch the Superbowl but Alex turned it on while we ran out quick. Since he hardly spends time with us we decided to let him keep it on in the living room. I'm really not watching it. I made no special food either. We had stuffed shells in the crockpot for dinner.

We had a very busy weekend full of shopping and I know I forgot things. Oh well, it can wait until next weekend.

Good and Bad

Friday, February 03, 2012

Will get bad out of the way first. I can not take the pills doc wrote script for.Druggest said it would interact dangerously with 4 of meds I am taking. The cream is ok but I hope it works. It has been 4 years since this happened.
Now to good.
When I worked in power plant most men were a holes. But I did have a few young men that were like adopted sons. Out of the blue I got a call from one today. He met my son William by accident and got my number. Bryan is what you call a good man. It was nice to hear from him.He was one of the few that called me Mom. It was a pleasant surprise.
I fixed my roe today for lunch. I was ok but not a good as I remembered. I liked it but it is a maybe once a year thing. It does give some people loose bowels but so far I am fine. This is what I fixed. It is very delicate until you cook it
Then I looked outside a few minutes ago and saw a butterfly and a red flower in pot of plant I thought was dead
And here is Miss Roxie who is at Petco right now getting a bath
Well I guess that is it for today. Hope you are having a good day.Very warm weather here.

Hummmm I'm on the fence about the roe. In fact I've never heard of it before. What is it? How do you fix it..what does it taste like? Okay sorry for the forty questions but I love learning new stuff and you are always teaching me something.

You must have made a very positive impression for this young man to call you. But of course..you are rather unforgettable so why wouldn't he go out of his way to give you a ring?

Love the pics..Roxy is looking like a show girl. She is blooming with the love that you and Bill shower upon her. Lucky little shelter dog...she hit the lotto with her new home!

Hugs to you...I'm hanging in there...still dealing with the crazy stalker lady...I'm really taken aback by this...in the 3 1/2 years I've been with Spark I've never encountered anyone nasty...NEVER...wowsa a big shock to my system and a BIG lesson on staying away from certain opinions...which is kinda sad when you have to think about censuring yourself before blogging.

I've read plenty of blogs that I thought were 'out there'...but never ever written nasty comments and then gone back to attack again and again. There is a problem here. emoticon I'm ignoring her and hope she goes away. I really wish that Spark had some mechanism to block the crazies without going private.

oh...just read the roe blog...it will save you the time of commenting since you explained it so nicely on your blog.

What is roe and what animal does it come from? I thought roe was fish eggs. I've been busy with grands and sorry to say, my friend had a massive stroke. I've been sitting with her some days to help out. She has mobility, but has lost her speech at this time. She tries so hard to communicate. My weight continues to be up, but I continue to battle it down. Lost a pound yesterday, only 15 more to drop before I can continue my progress. Hope you've been doing well.     My dh loves Roe too Eleni. I am like many of the others--I'll pass on it and eat something else. lol What a treat to hear from a good guy. I know what you mean about the warm weather. A friend was wondering how much winter we had left and I asked her what winter. We have on a day here and there, not much though. I am waiting on the really cold weather to come and stay a couple of weeks.
You have a very good druggist noticing the drug interaction. Like others said, it is funny how they keep up with things more so than drs. I am allergic to sulfur and one dr ordered meds with it in them. My druggist caught it too and called the dr to change the prescription. Have a great weekend Eleni. ((HUGS))

Not sure I'd want to eat roe, lol.

My gosh, it's good the pharmacist told you about those meds! It would have been so bad had he not!

Love seeing a butterfly in winter, beautiful Eleni! And
reading about Roxy having a bath reminds me that my Snooks does too, I've been putting it off for quite a while. She does not mind me bathing her, it's just that I look out at the cold weather and she's so tiny, I shiver thinking of her being wet even though she'd be bathed in a warm house!!

I think I'll pass on the roe. Somehow I missed yesterday - I guess you're moving too fast for me.

I got the recommendation to check with nurses and druggists because they're more knowledgibe about drug interactions than doctors - I suspect that's why some people wind up with tons of drugs - to treat the side effects of the drugs that treat side effects, etc. Dave Zeph (a branch chief who worked for me) was totally miserable for years - then one day just stopped taking 14 medicines. After a couple of weeks he was finally feeling good for the first time in years.

I'm not suggesting that you stop the meds - I'm an ex-engineer - not a doctor.

  Hi Eleni...........
How nice that you heard from such a nice young man. I taught for many years and I still run into students every so often and am always happy when they remember me and are glad to see me and stop to visit. I miss being around young people as I truly believe that they tended to keep me young in my thinking and in my sense of humor. They are like a shot of adrenalin.
Leave it to you to get a flower from an almost dead plant. I swear you could get plants to grow out of cement!!! The butterfly is beautiful. I have to enjoy them through your pictures as it will be a long time before one floats through here!!! We have had such a mild winter, but according to the local weatherman, we are supposed to have a real cold snap next week. I hope so just so that the ice will become thicker and safer where Ken fishes. He walks out on ice that is scary!!! I won't go out on the ice until semis drive on it!!! My grandfather went through the ice in a car and I still have nightmares about it!!!
On that note, I will close. Have a great weekend.
