Busy day

Thursday, February 02, 2012

First had to go get medtronic check even tho it was checked in Dec. No incidents. He printed me out a sheet with all incidents on it so I could have a record.
Then later to gyno doc. She gave me fresh script for salve and pills to take. Also did a check for diabetes She said the fasting check hides symptoms sometimes. But test was good.
So I should be much better with rash soon.
Bill may be taking up horseshoes in addition to bowling. Glad to see him doing stuff.
Angel said she had a good day.
Today was my daughter Joy's birthday.Time sure flies by quick
Hope you had a good day.

  Hi Eleni........
It sounds like you had a "Good News" day. I am happy for you. I get checked for Type II Diabetes every year as several members of my family have it.

Not much news from here. We researched the possibility of signing up with Hughes.Net today. They are coming out on Saturday to see if we can get the signal in our woods. It would be wonderful to get something with some speed as it takes way too long to do EVERYTHING with our present service.

Have a good evening........Talk to you tomorrow.

Mullet Roe LOL

Wednesday, February 01, 2012

I was very amused by the roe comments I got. Too funny. It is an area thing.Different regions have different roe. The most famous roe of course is caviar which I have never tried and think it looks nasty.
Mullet roe looks like too sausages.Yellow is most popular. I know some people eat the white but I never could get myself to even try it. When the yellow roe is cooked it is very dry.It is fish eggs and texture would be similar to maybe corn meal but taste good. I have always fried mine but I am going to try maybe baking it. I found this on internet and this is exactly how it looks raw.Yellow is from female fish. Only other thing about mullet is when it is smoked.Smoked mullet is great if not too dry.

I have 2 doc appointments tomorrow. One is ICD check by medtronic and other is gyno.Gyno is also general medicine.I don't see her often but I have a fat girl rash that is out of control. A few years ago i got it on groins, under boobs and even under arms. Finally took pills to get rid of it.After that I started using secret roll on deodorant everywhere and never had any problems til last week. It is really bad now. Both groins and one boob. From one groin to other groin looks like I have been scaled .Extremely red and sore.very unpleasant. The stuff druggist gave Bill made it worse. I should have gone last week but didn't think it would get this bad. But it should be better once I see her.
Just found out that Angel got hurt two weeks ago and didn't tell me.I thought she had a flu bug. Turns out she tripped and fell on her side. The hospital told her it was just bruises muscles. Her family doc made her go back to er.Now that swelling is down they found out she has 4 broken ribs. The vomiting was from pain meds they gave her.She has been having such a hard time. After she left ER she headed to Bill's work for shoulder to cry on. Then I called her when he came home and told me. Her brother Ben use to be the clucks but I told her she had him beat.
Well that has been my day.
Hope you had a good one. emoticon

Oh, Girl! I've had those sore spots and it is indeed painful. The prescribed ointment worked for me and I use AandD baby ointment, too. Hope it clears up soon. Poor Angel..she can't seem to catch a break! Wrong choice of words...she CAN catch a break...but too many of them. Broken ribs take such a long time to heal. Know that I've offered prayers up for her and you,as well. I've had Rocky Mountain Oysters (after several beverages)but think I'll have to pass on the roe.

When I fell off a bicycle in Johnson county, Johnson County Memorial couldn't find anything wrong with me, but my whole left side was no good. They shipped me up to Community, in Indianapolis, and I had a broken pelvis, two broken ribs, and a collapsed lung. The hospital that missed the broken rigs the first time is a dud.

I always sweat so much under my boobs when I walk that I get rashes there, especially in the summer. My sports bras have a wide elastic strip all the way around, it gets wet when I sweat and then stays wet. I didn't want the drugs the doc offered so she told me to try baby rash ointment. It did the trick! And, a lot cheaper than the meds would have been.

Angel sure has had more than her share of bad luck. Hope she feels better soon!

  Hi Eleni..........
I am glad that you are seeing your Dr. tomorrow. Hopefully she will be able to give you something that will give you immediate relief. Sounds painful!!!

Poor Angel!!!!! There is so much pain with broken ribs!!!!! A friend of mine from Arizona actually saved her husband's life last week when she had to give him the Heimlich maneuver. He was in the kitchen and she was upstairs when she heard him making strange noises. She rushed downstairs, saw that he was choking, and successfully did the HM. She is much smaller than her husband and it took three squeezes, but she managed to save him. She also managed to bruise his ribs. She was surprised at her strength. I think adrenalin might have had a little to do with it.
Later......

Broken ribs are very painful. . .feel so sorry for Angel. I've had those awful rashes myself and they really hurt, sometimes even to walk. My Dr. prescribes me an RX cream to use and it does work but I usually wait like you did until it's really red and sore. . .I get it in just about the same areas as you do--it really sucks, as you know. In my case, I think it's because my fat creates skin folds due to the fat I'm carrying around. . .it's well overdo for me to get serious and get rid of all my excess fat. . .so embarrassing.

Short Blog

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

I thought I would be super tired today but it wasn't that bad.
I got caught up on some emails and some paperwork I needed to do. Made me feel like I got something done.
I know that Campbell soups aren't the best but I do cook with them and eat them on occasion. Bill accidentally got creamed chicken noodle last week and it is good. Then he picked up some creamed onion that I had never noticed before. I tried it in my cast iron dutch oven today.Put some potatoes, onion, carrots and meat in my pot. Dumped the creamed onion soup in it.Cooked it at just 325 for 2 hours. It was awesome.
I got a call from my sister Joanne and she is bringing me some mullet roe.If you are from the south you know what it is.It is the yellow roe which is the eggs. people do eat the white but not me. If yellow is eggs you can guess what the white is. When cooked the eggs are very dry. It is usually fried but we are both going to try baking it. My nephew does a lot of fishing and has been making a mullet spread that he sells. He saved some roe for his mom and threw a lot away. She told him to save it as we both like it . ok watching biggest loser but don't like it as much anymore

We went to a meeting last night that lasted later than I thought it would, so didn't get back to the computer to check on your blog. That's a great sign that you aren't completely worn out from your trip. I hope you continue to be able to do things without getting so tired.
No thank you on the fish eggs. My Dad used to fry them when I was a kid and offered them to my brother and me, but neither one of us ever grew to love them.
I guess it's an acquired taste.
Take care.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip! Your GGD is so cute!! I've never tried fish eggs and if I go through the rest of my life without having tried them, I won't be upset at all. I do like the stuff inside of crabs but that's about as yucky as I get. That's a big thing for us here in Maryland. I use Campbell's soup to cook with sometimes. It always make a nice base but it is high in sodium. I ate it everyday as a kid for lunch, after school snack but now only now and then. Homemade is so much healthier for you. Hope you're doing ok, talk to you soon,
love,
Margaret emoticon emoticon

Don't forget to take an extra water pill, after eating that soup!. Processed soups are usually WAY up there in the sodium count! Even after it's extended with a bunch of other ingredients it's not as bad, but still high.

I would never have guessed mullet roe was fish eggs [I also had to google it]; they aren't like a river trout or northern pike or perch, so I'm still iffy on the... are they like the eggs from one of them? only differing in color? I know in Eastern Montana at certain times of the year they paddle fish and save the eggs for caviar, but all the other ones [we don't eat them] but use them for bait..to catch more fish. LOL emoticon, think I'll keep using them for bait and skip eating them... or is it only "a fish, called a mullet"?

As for biggest Loser, I only watched the 1st two shows when it first came out and maybe once or twice paused on the channel, but I always thought they were unrealistic and or going to cause someones death...I'm surprised it hasn't? .. though I do think it's been neat in building so much motivation in so many people who needed the encouragement. I can't bare to watch them sweat people to death who weigh over 300 lbs; especially, some of those men. It's like sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for them to kill over as they climb mountain paths. emoticon emoticon emoticon

I always thought roe was eaten raw. I suppose it can be cooked like any egg!

Biggest loser never interested me a lot. I watched a few episodes off-and-on. I was amazed at the breasts, with nipples hanging down, on men! I grew up around the beaches, and never saw, on any chubby or obese guy, anything like women's beasts with nipples hanging down. We really do have too much estrogen-mimickers in our society; pesticides, plastics, and herbicides are the main sources. emoticon

Glad to be home

Monday, January 30, 2012

The trip home was much better than trip going over there.
We were very pleased with hotel.Opposite of our last visit to that chain. They upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite and it was cheaper than the 1 bedroom was going to be. It was very comfortable. Only problem I had was bed was a little high so was a little difficult getting on it. We usually take the small step Bill made for my bed just incase but forgot. Front desk tried to find me something and brought a small step stool but steps was too high and not real stable. But I managed and bed very comfortable once I got in it.We decided to use different beds this time as it would be more comfortable for us. Bill decided he was not take his c-pap and he regretted it. I insisted on taking mine.It is a pain to take apart and pack but was worth it. He won't leave his again.
We got to visit with Heidi ,Scott and Landon twice and for a couple of hours both times. Landon can be quite a handful at times but overall he was pretty good. They don't believe in spanking and he takes advantage.
I tried to get them to go to a restaurant without me Sunday night but they refused. It was suppose to just be Heidi and Landon but Scott got off work early. I almost had Bill talked into going with heidi as they never get one on one time. But I got outnumbered when Scott got to come. So Bill and Heidi went and got takeout. It was nice. Scott is a perfect SIL.The kind of guy we all hope our daughters find.A real good guy.

I only took 2 pics. Heidi brought her new camera and it made mine look like a throw away by comparison, A friend took her to military base and she got a Camera at good discount and even at discount it was $1000 Canon eos rebel. Awesome camera but too complicated for me. If I were younger and had better brain cells I might like one like that. I am not smart enough to figure out how to use it. heck I can only do a few things that mine is capable of doing.
But it was a nice weekend. Roxy was glad to see us and get home. She was well taken care of and spoiled rotten but she was happy to be home.
Landon and his daddy Scott

Made it to Orlando

Saturday, January 28, 2012

A few boobs along the way. Mostly by me but Bill helped.First Made wrong turn to doggy sitter and had to u turn and go back.So much for earlier start. Then getting thru Tampa on 275 was a nightmare. Then when we were getting c lose we had to go on a toll road and what a screwy thing it was.We are pretty sure we went by a toll booth we were suppose to stop at.It was a strange setup. The second one we ended up in right lane. I was so glad to get to room.
Then things got real good. Bill went in and came back out to tell me room wasn't ready. That they were doing something to the shower. So I went back in with him and girl said she was not going to make us wait. She upgraded us to a 2 bedroom suite which is nice. The one bathroom has a walk in shower. So I am all set.Walk in shower and internet and TV.
Heidi and Scott are bringing Landon by to see me in awhile.
I am tired and tried to take a nap but that didn't work. I brought my own food so I am set there too.Plenty of soup and fruit and left overs from our dinner.
here is cool Miss Abigail. My GGD

I hope you don't have the same experience I had. Coming south from Milwaukee I missed three toll booths - went through the car-pass lanes without knowing what I was doing. It cost me about $$76.50 - three $25 fines and three 50 cent tolls - or they would request an arrest warrant from Florida. I paid - with a little bit of hard feelings.

I don't know what Florida does.
