  Hi Eleni........
Yaaaaaaay J.R.!!!!! I was so glad to see him win for many reasons. I liked him from the first dance.
I wish you and Bill a wonderful Thanksgiving. We are going to my brother's which is about 35 miles South of us. It is supposed to be close to 66 degrees tomorrow.......a bit unusual for Wisconsin in November.

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is almosthere.Wow.The time does go faster the older we get.
I finished up prepping all the veggies today that I use daily into cup and 1/2 cup containers. Will save me a lot of counting calorie time. I am still disappointed that grapes are so high..
I don't think I told you but if I did well I'm an old lady. Live with it.
I have discovered egg whites. I made something a couple of weeks ago that called for 2 egg yolks. So I put whites in a little container thinking I would just add them to an egg. But I decided the next day to just cook the whites and see how bad it was. Just tasted like egg. So I had Bill pick me up a container of egg white. 9 tablespoons is equal to 1 egg calorie wise. here is what a 98 cal breakfast looks like.
And this is what a 204 cal lunch looks like when you make your own low cal soup and then add extra veggies.
Not bad. The soup bowl holds almost 3 cups of soup. I just added some frozen cauliflower and cut up frozen asparagus and a little extra beef broth.
Putting asparagus in my soup when I fix it is a new thing. 6 spears cut up is on 20 cal.
Here are a couple more pick of London's haircut
A before and after

This is Felicia and Abigail in St Augustine this weekend

Ok I guess that will do it for today.Hope you had a good one. I am way behind in responding back to all of you but I will work on it.

Haaaaaaa! A big boy haircut!!!!! Looking great!!!!

Little Abigail looks like a storybook character (one of my favorites)....if you have the original Beatrix Potter illustrated Mrs. Tiggwinkle, I think Abby looks like the little girl Lucie in the book.

Good job on your food. DWTS FINALE TONIGHT.

  Hi Eleni.......
I love egg whites and often eat Egg Beaters with added veggies (usually Spinach). Low-cal and great taste......
I love Landon's hair, what a cutie and I can't believe how fast Abigail is growing. She looks like a little girl now and no longer like a baby. That time goes too fast.

Ken and I spent the afternoon with a retirement planner. My head was spinning by the end of the 2 hour session but we did learn a lot.

Take care.

A Much Better Day.

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Yesterday was not a good day. Did not feel well but am much better today.Didn't feel up to going to grocery store so Bill went. My daughter Joy told us we could use a sweetbay coupon at publix and Bill tried it.we were able to use a $10 coupon. Some publix's will even take target but ours won't. I have always used coupons but never tried this.I need to try to get extra s for bogo's so I have 2 each time.I do most of my shopping at Winn Dixie
Yesterday was Tyler's 1st BD party.I will share a pic tomorrow.I didn't go but she sent me a piece of cake which was good.haven't had cake in a long time.
Also Landon finally got his first haircut. Will show that tomorrow too.
The scale finally went down. Most of it is fluid but some was real loss. I have been very good with calories and only went way over one time.oops Twice. I just checked and with the low days I averaged 1700 a day which is good.My lowest day was 1300 and highest day was 2500. I have seen a big difference in what I eat too. I was eating a lot of fruit and that was a lot of calories.By having them measured i don't just grab a handful of grapes because a big handful is about 60 cals.
Bill asked if he could get his Christmas present early and I said yes. I had offered to get him a new bowling ball. He did get a pretty one and did better with it. Told him it was not his Christmas present. It was his reward for being so good to me.
I can hardly believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. We have placed an order at Cody's and Bill will pick it up.We will have a nice dinner right here. I miss cooking a big meal but it is too much for me now.
I guess that is it for now. Hope you had a good weekend. emoticon

I hope things get easier for you, Friend! I'm cooking a small "feast" for Jen and the boys. Last year we went to Cracker Barrel and it was good, but not the same. Smaller portions, store-bought pie, simple menu...little turkey. The boys are off this week, so they're hanging out with me. They're having a sleepover tonight, as Jen as an early interview for a promotion at work. She'll pick them up afterwards. The shopping is done, but the house and table is not ready. Mom was doing well, but I TOTALLY went off program and ate whatever I wanted...alas! emoticon

I'm glad you had a better day yesterday, and hope that today is even better. We're going to Kally K's for Thanksgiving because the BW lost interest in cooking holiday meals a lot of years ago, and I don't feel like it this year either. The restaurant is an easy way to go if you're by yourselves, and a lot of them are open now. I recall one Thanksgiving a lot of years ago (but less than 20) that we decided to go out without reservations, and the only place we could find open was a Chinese joint on US 19. It was still good - but not really a Thanksgiving dinner.

Finally Some Good news.

Friday, November 18, 2011

As you know I have been seriously thinking about dropping our home owners insurance. We had a roof inspection yesterday suggested by new agent I called. .To make a long story short but very sweet. She was able to save us $1500. Instead of almost $2500 we will pay $950. I am happy. I am going to see what she can save us on car insurance now.
I did good with eating until last night and it was all bad.Went way over for 1st time in days. But that is bound to happen.Back on track now.
Here is a pic Bill just took of Roxy's new boyfriend.I am so glad he is a very mellow dog. And here is a plant that I thought was done with blooming and surprised me with more blooms.

This might be a repeat.

Homeowner's also gives you some liability coverage that you will lose without it. You might want that separately if you drop the homeowner's.

  Hi Eleni.....
What great news re: your home insurance. With the economy the way it is and the fact that the competition among providers is up, I am not surprised that there was a better deal out there for you. I am so happy for you. You deserve some good news and it will take away some of your stress.
I think that you had better head for Wisconsin and bring your green thumb with you. Big Momma II is looking a bit yellow!!!!! I am worried. I am hoping that she is still adjusting to new soil and a new environment, but my track record isn't very good with orchids. Is your blooming plant a Gerbera Daisy?
Roxy's new boyfriend looks like a pretty good guy. You may have lucked out.
Good Night for now.

Good Day

Thursday, November 17, 2011

It has been a fairly good day.
The guy came and did an inspection that will hopefully lower my homeowners insurance, So That got done.
Then we went and got my potassium checked. Bill had a very violent reaction to a cholesterol med about a week ago. The nurse told him to try it again but take aspirin first and eat some applesauce. I told Bill there was no way I would do it again.Well when he went in to pick up my script the doc was there and he also told him to try it one more time. They are both nuts. I told Bill to not wake me up if it does it.Just suffer. He knows I don't mean it. I did tell him if it gave him even a minor reaction he better stop. They can give him something else. Even the doc said he can't take it. I think the whole thing is so stupid.
Then we went to lunch and I was so good. I got a club sandwich with fries and put half in take out box and will have it tonight. But best part is I did not get any ranch dressing for fries. We went to a place called Rodie's and they have the best ranch dressing any where. Sounds like a small victory but it was a big one for me.Especially when Bill had some right in front of me.
Then we went over to thrift store and I picked up 3 coffee saucer size plates. Bill pushed me in my walker as walking is getting bad.
The scale hasn't moved yet and I have done great with calories. Hopefully it will do something soon.
Ok Time to go
I can't seem t get a good pic of this orchid but here it is.
OK Hope you had a good day

  Hi Eleni.....
I wonder why the Dr. doesn't just switch Bill's medicine. I think that there are several that can be taken to reduce cholesterol, so why mess with one that has proven to be trouble for him? I don't get it!!!
Good for YOU on resisting the Ranch Dressing. I am thinking that I might try to make a bean and ham soup tomorrow or maybe lentil and ham. I have had a real urge to try lentils. My Mom told me today to forget lentils and stick with beans, but we will see. She has NEVER liked lentils.
Your orchid is magnificent. Big Momma is hanging in there........I am almost afraid to look at her each day because I seem to be such a curse with orchids!!! I hope that she does well in her new home.
Good-Night for now.
