Short one again

Friday, September 16, 2011

We went out for lunch which is not good, then went to get my nails done and it took forever. They didn't have enough people working. Bill got so aggravated he went out to car. What should have only taken 45 minutes tops took about 1 and 1/2 hours.
I am tired so will just share a few pics. This is pic of abigail that was sent to me showing she likes carrots

cleaned up

here is Landon at beach. i so wish they would cut his hair. You would think it was his mother that doesn't want it cut but it is his father.

here is another dragon fly. This guy looks yellow to me.

Ok Hope you have a good evening

  Hi Eleni.......

When our oldest son was little like Abigail, the only vegetable he would eat without a complete meltdown, was carrots. Because of this, I only fed him carrots. Then I noticed after a while that his skin had an orange cast to it. I asked our doctor about it and he laughed and asked me how many times a week Jason had carrots or sweetpotatoes and I had to admit that I fed him carrots EVERY day!!! I gradually took them away and his skin returned to normal.

I do love Landon's curls and wish I had them myself, but in the near future, I am afraid that his Dad will have to give in. Although, you do see boys with varying lengths of hair, so who knows?

Have a great Saturday.

Landon's curls make him look angelic! He looks better than my Tyler and his mohawk! Thank God his hair is growing pretty fast. I can't believe how big Abigail is already. Smart of her to love carrots! I roasted carrots, fennel bulbs, and onions last week. Pretty good, but a little dry. I was trying not to use too much olive oil. Give Bill a back scratch to make up for the wait! Is the new sign-up out...I'm behind on my emails.

Pics of Eleni & Michelle

Thursday, September 15, 2011

It was nice to meet and visit with Michelle MPARKER67. We met at a local Greek restaurant. Food was excellent. It was a very nice visit.
Today I am just sharing some pics of me in gazebo and our lunch. Wish I didn't look so big sitting in gazebo but it is what it is.

And if that isn't enough of me here are some more

One of the benefits of living in Florida is that people like to come here for vacations.
It was great to met Michelle in person.

I think Roxy is sort of big for a lap dog - but we had 90 pound Shepherds that tried the same thing. Harry and Ralphy (both 14 pound dogs) are just about right - small enough but not too fragile. You look very happy.

Soup making day

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

I am feeling much better today.Going to go take a nap soon. But wanted to do this first as I have a war zone in my kitchen to clean up. I always make a big mess on soup day but i have my messes from yesterday. Yep I let it all go yesterday. The world didn't end because I left a mess and it was still there today. But I will be busy when I get up from my nap.
I have huge pot of soup simmering. I ran out a few days ago and I hate that. I always count every calorie but didn't this time.I use the same stuff so calories rarely vary. So I will take the highest average and add a few calories. So each bag will be 110.
While I was getting the stuff in the pot I needed to fix my lunch. So I just thru together a lunch soup of cauliflower, carrots and kale in a chicken broth and tomato paste soup. Chopped the cali and carrots in small pieces and dumped a big handful of kale in it. Add some spices and some lime juice and it was awesome. Add some cucumber slices on the side as a salad. All for 256 calories. And that is 2 bowls of soup. I am all for volume with the lest amount of calories.
I was real sore when I went to bed but today it is mostly the everyday aches I have every day.
I had a huge swallowtail butterfly come by several times. Now I just need it to stop and visit.. Which should happen.
The yellow ones just flew thru and now they are stopping. I will just have to be patient.

I am hopefully back on track today. Tracking all my food and that is always good.
Bill put the new table and chairs together for gazebo. I will try them out later. They are suppose to come next week and get the grass down.It will really look different
Hope you are having a good day

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I agree with you too, I'm all about volume with the least amount of calories. What food is going to stay with me the longest and is still healthy for me. I have to post a blog with a new pic of me. My hair has started coming in woo hoo..It was coming in with alot of gray so I dyed it. It's now an auburn shade which everyone says looks good on me. I'm finished with my therapies and got an excellent report from the doctor. I made some minestrone soup last week that I got from Mario Batalli's TV show. It was delicious, I think I'll do some more this weekend. Love your pics as usual, outstanding, were you a photographer by profession? It sure looks like it.

Love you,
Margaret emoticon emoticon emoticon

I should have had you come here to make soup for all of us today. Our temps are down to a high of 54 today. It really feels like Fall and I love it. What I don't love though is the slight threat of frost tonight. I have way too many flowers to cover!!!

When your Cleome grow tall, I can guarantee Hummingbirds. They are always flitting in and out of mine. I am still collecting seeds and will send them to you soon. I don't know why you couldn't enjoy them all year. We have had lots of yellow butterflies the last few days.

Glad you are feeling better.

I am like you in that I look for foods less calorie dense. Soup really is quite satisfying and I have heard eating soup before your meal actually helps decrease your intake.
By now you are a master soup maker.
I have tried to eat kale but for some reason I hate it. Maybe I am not cooking it right. I wouldn't want to add it to a pot of soup cuz I would probably end up having to throw it all out. How do you normally cook it? Maybe I will give it one more try.
Sounds like you are doing well. I seem to be back on track today. Gotta keep this momentum going.

Another short one

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

My day started out badly. Fell out of the bed around 6:30. I had knocked my clock off and I was trying to reach between bed and little table and reached too far.Away I slid. I did not get hurt altho I am sore and I am sure bruises will be popping out. I am just glad I was able to get up. Thankfully by using edge of bed and closet door knob I did get up.
Next. never Never Never eat Mexican for lunch and Italian for supper in same day. I am paying today for doing that yesterday. So dumb. That is only the 3rd time I have even eaten mexican. Ben sick at my stomach all day.Just nauseated. It's what I deserve for being so stupid.
I will be meeting Another spark friend for lunch on Thursday.MPARKER67
Michelle. It is always nice to met someone in person.
ok Hope you are having a good day.

Oh, I'm getting sore, just READING about your fall! I hope, when you get out of bed tomorrow, that you're not MORE sore. That happens sometimes. It takes all the muscles about a day to find out that you had a fall. It's called Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness(DOMS for short)

I never eat Mexican and very rarely Italian. I don't like spicy foods. Maybe you have a little GERD from the acid and spices in the food. I hope you'll feel better when you get back to your own cooking.

Short Blog

Monday, September 12, 2011

Not much going on. We got the results from Bill's stress test. It wasn't real good but it was ok for now. he will do another in 6 months. In the meantime he told Bill to exercise. I told Bill I would go back to my tapes when he walks on treadmill.
Here are a few pics. Now I know where the hummingbird water is going to.

This guy had the longest fluffiest tail but pic doesn't show it.

And Bill said if he put that gazebo up he was going to sit out there

Ok i will talk tomorrow. Nadal is not doing so good right now. I think it will take a miracle for him to win

Bill and Roxy look so good in the Gazebo. I would like one in my back yard too.

Does Bill like to exercise? Ken gets lots of exercise when he gets wood ready for winter and when he deer hunts, but doesn't like to walk on the treadmill or sit on the stationary bike, because he thinks they are too boring..........what am I going to do with him???

Have a great evening.
