haven't done much of anything today. We watched the movie Green Hornet. Corny as can be.
I did print out some of my pics to frame. I have framed 4 but have to get some other frames. The frames i was going to use are too big.
Here are some tiny titmouse birds. One has a yellowed leaf that he flew off with.

And had a yellow butterfly stop a little longer. Black one visited but didn't stay

Ok Thats it for me today.had to at least say hello. Hope your weekend is going good.

  Hi Eleni.........
I wish that I could have beamed you to my gardens this afternoon. I have a large group of Black Eyed Susans in one of my front flower beds and there were about a dozen small butterflies, all alike, with the most beautiful design on their wings. I guess I am going to have to get a book so that I can identify them like you do. They were so engrossed in the flowers that I could get really close and look at the various colors without them flying away.
You are inspiring me to get a better camera and now to get a butterfly book. See, you don't even try and you inspire.
Have a good rest of the weekend.
Patti

Another hot day. But it was a little cooler early his morning.Bill took Roxy to dog park. She hasn't been in weeks because of heat.
I went over my calories yesterday but hopefully tonight will be better. Bill picked up 2 steaks to grill. They usually have a lot of calories. I hope he got small ones.
I did practice on my piano some. I think I need a whole lot more practice. Bill being the sweetheart that he is asked me why Roxie had her paws covering her ears. emoticon
I don't blame her.
I printed out some of my photo's and got 3 in frames. I am not hanging my drawings back up.I am putting my photography up. The only drawings going back up will be the ones of my Daddy,Mother and one of myself.
I also started a drawing of one of my pics.
Bill finished the walk and squared up the patio today

And I got in a fight with this cactus when I tried to move it.It won for sure. I finally just let it lay on patio. I will get Bill to help set it up as you can see it is starting to have some blooms

Ok need to go do a few things. Hope those that are in Irene's path take precautions. We were hoping for some rain but didn't get any.

  Hi Eleni........
Is Bill just naturally talented or is he trained in brickwork? He really did a great job!

I fertilized several of my gardens today. We aren't supposed to get any rain for at least a week and the gardens are looking a bit worn out. Ken watered all of them after I finished fertilizing, so hopefully they will perk up. We are actually getting some Fall colors in a few of our Hickory trees. I love Fall, but this seems a bit early. School starts this coming Thursday, so I am sure we will get some more hot and humid weather for that. It never fails.
Later.......
Patti

PS.......your cactus looks so healthy. Do the stones in your yard bloom too??????

Glad Irene passed Florida and hope any new ones don't show up untill after the 18th when I've gone back home. Start thinking about a day between the 13th and 17th to get together. I will need to rent a car for that day as everyone decided we don't need one for Clearwater Beach.

The wind has picked up and it is getting cloudy. We may get some rain.
Not a lot going on. I did make a big pot of lima beans today.Gave most of it to Angel to take home. Saved me a lot of calories for sure. But I had enough to swell my tummy up good tho. emoticon Have a feeling Bill won't be spending much time in same room with me later.
He went and got a storage cabinet for patio to store my garden and flower stuff. This way I can finally get the patio cleaned up.
He also has the upper part of walk done and the walk is marked for walk to gazebo.

This is one of my favorite small flowers. I love t as it has different colored blooms on one plant

Ok It is about to storm so I better get off of here.

wow, the patio is sure coming along. When you talk of storms it makes me long for FL. I do miss it. Texas is so crazy hot right now, with no rain in sight. Yesterday while I went to lunch, we felt a few drops and everyone in the parking lot was smiling. Then we continued on, ended up a few miles away, and we noticed the sidewalks were wet... but we missed it all! So sad.

Love that little plant, Hubby said it would save him a lot of money if I got that kind that way I would not have to have a plant in every color.
Love the shed I have one like that for my garden tools and extra pots at the Eastern Washington home.
Lima beans are Hubbys favorite, I may have to break down and throw some in the crock pot for him.
Can't wait to see the finished project Bill is working on. Have a nice evening, I am keeping my fingers crossed for rain but no storm. Sandy

Going to try to get this done before I have to start supper.
I decided today I was doing too much nothing. The old ticker isn't going to let me do much but there are a few things I can and should be doing. First I took my timer and set it for 20 minutes in the piano room and plunked at keys trying to remember where what was. I will try to do that every day.
Then I went to my art room and did same thing. Trashed the piece I was working on and will start another one that interest me. And I will draw it my way .Maybe not the right way but nobody will se it much but me. And I know no matter how bad it ends up looking that you guys will lie and saw it looks great. emoticon
I did go over my calories yesterday but not today. I could have went over by a whole lot more so I still call it a success.
I did my 10 sitting leg lift for my team challenge.
I almost got a picture of a Zebra Longwing but the camera jammed. i was not happy. But it is a good sign as I have seen one twice this week and it lingered a little today.
OK Here are todays pics.
This is the two hibiscus plants I had Bill sit next to garden.A big one and a small one. Then the 1st bloom from the small one

Big Momma gets more blooms each day
Here is another small skipper butterfly. To the left is a new coneflower starting to almost bloom.
And here is Roxy ignoring me. I tried to get her to look at me and everytime I picked the camera up she looked down.

Well thats it for now. Need to go start getting stuff ready to cook.Fish tonight.

I'm so happy that you are getting back into your hobbies. I LOVE my jewelry designing...in fact...NOTHING makes me happier in the entire world. I am pledging to work on Josher's book every day. I was doing great with a sparkie friend that had me on a 10,000 word challenge. But when opened the consignment shoppe that project fell by the wayside. Now I'm back to it as I KNOW this is what I need to do...get the Josher's story out into the world.

  Hi Eleni.........
Great idea to get back to what interests you. One of my regrets is never having learned to play the piano. My sister-in-law taught piano and says that even at my age, I could learn. I'm not so sure. It must be so relaxing to sit down and play most any song you want to when you do know how. I envy that. My husband was an Art teacher and is getting back to doing what he likes to in many mediums. He retired from teaching a few years ago and went right into business making custom frames, cabinets, etc. It kept him so busy that he wasn't doing "Art" for enjoyment anymore. I am glad to see him doing projects he loves now. I have a hunch that when you begin to enjoy your piano and your drawing again, you will be more motivated in other areas too. It seems to work that way.
"Big Momma" should be in the Orchid Hall of Fame!!!!!
Later........

As usual nothing much going on.Which gets a little boring sometimes. But way better than when dealing with kids drama.
The weight is staying down so far. I have been doing good with calories. I do need to get some chair exercises going again.
We finished my part of the yard last night. have different plants all along the side fence. Still have some that need repotted but just too hot. I moved the big yellow hibiscus that was on patio out to edge of butterfly garden. Bill also moved the feel good corner statues over some so I can see them better.
I am seeing more butterflies every day.Now there are 3 or 4 at same time.
The yellow one finally stopped long enough for a quick picture. But it is coming by more often and sat a little longer today so hopefully I will get a good pic soon. This is a cloudless sulfer
And the monarch came back.
This little guy has his nose stuck in the bloom

misc
And Mr squirrel was playing around
Ok Thats it folks. Bill is on way home so I need to get started with supper. chicken and pasta with peas in the pasta. Glad I have plenty of calories for supper. Bill loves pasta with a can of peas thrown in it. Ok have a good night.

The butterflys are so beautiful. It must be so peaceful just watching them flitter around. I love Mr. Squirrel too...I was astonished at how fat and happy the squirrels are here in Florida when we moved here. The one's back in Iowa were gaunt little guys. I bet food is much harder for them to come by back there and the winters are brutal.

I love living in Florida...and everytime I go back home to visit I realize just how BLESSED we are to have continual sunshine...even if it is hot! emoticon
