good Morning

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

This morning I was treated to watching this blue jay swaying in the bamboo tree.
I went over my calories last night which was a bummer. I stayed under 2000 cals but only by a small amount. But today is a new day and yesterday is over and done. Can't undo it but can do better today.
Another beautiful day outside. I am so glad I tinted the windows out here so I can keep the shades open all day.

I had blue jays feeding in my back yard today and I thought of my dear friend Eleni! I do miss her! I am thankful for the years I had her in my life! She was
such an inspiration to all who knew her.

Senior Bowling Olympics

Monday, October 13, 2008

My husband Bill just called and said his brother not only placed in 1st for his division ,he also got a medal for his high scores.
But Best of all my wonderful husband Bill placed in 2nd position in same division. emoticonHe was thrilled as he was afraid he wouldn't make it. Now they go to Ft Myers in Nov for a state tournament. I am so happy for hubby.
Oh my sister-in-law also placed but not sure where. So they all had a fun day.
Wish I were able to participate but life isn't always fair. But I am just thrilled Bill made it. He is very excited

Monday Morning

Good morning all, This is a picture of a cardinal I took thru window sitting at my computer. It turned out pretty good. I wish I had a beautiful bird bath like vegefarmer has to put back there. But I may have to think about getting one.Hubby will just love that! Naught!!!
Speaking of hubby. He is going to Tampa today to try out for senior olympic bowling. The top 5 in each age group will go to next level. It would be so great if he makes it.
I have still not decided which teams I want to stay on.They are all good I am sure but want one that is active. Some are more active than others. Plus I am not sure how many I should join.
It is a beautiful 80degree sunny day here in Florida. We are called the sunshine state and it does apply most of the time. emoticon

Good Morning from Sunny Florida

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Just wanted to take a minute to say hello.I finished up my pot of soup for the week.I put 1 quart in refrigerator but still have to put rest in freezer. Will put it in bags holding 1 cup so I can take out 1 cup at a time. Also makes a low cal snack at 75 cal.
Did not sleep well last night.I stayed up til 1 am watching the Rays baseball game.No I am not a fan but hubby is.I stayed up so I could tell him about the game.He went to bed early. At 1am it was tied at the beginning of the 11 inning. The game must have ended shortly after I gave up.Rays won by 1 point. I am not a big sports fan but the Rays are a big deal for this area this year. It is good entertainment for families.
Hubby went bowling this morning and didn't do as good as he wanted. He is trying out for senior olympics tomorrow. He just started bowling again a few months ago and really is doing good.Especially since he hadn't bowled in over 30 years.Guess it is like riding a horse. You never forget how.
I always wanted to learn to bowl but never got the chance.I worked swing shifts for 21 years and it is hard to have a life. Some days you don't even know what day of the week it is.And now that I do have the time I am not able physically. That is why I am always telling people to not put off doing the things you'd like to do. Because when you do "have the time" you may not be able to do them.
Well I may check back in later. But for now that soup needs to be put up.Plus I am so messy when I cook. The kitchen looks like a tornado went thru in it. I could wait til hubby gets home and he would clean it up for me but I won't do that to him.He helps me so much all the time.Too much. I am always telling him to let me do the things I can do.If I can't I will ask. But he still does too much.He is my sweetie. He isn't perfect but pretty close. emoticon emoticon

That soup sounds good, with the weather getting colder soups are always a good choice.
