I wasn't sure if I would have any pics today but went outside and got a few. The pupa hasn't changed much that I can tell but it should change soon.
I love to take pics of dragonflies.
I have been doing great with my calories but haven't seen it on the scale yet. That is always the hardest. When you know scale should drop and it doesn't. I am sure some of scale is fluid. I am actually surprised myself that I have keep the calories down but i am not motivated at all.
We got a little rain this morning but sun came out and we are in the 90's.
Ok Nothing going on here. We still haven't finished our domino game. We are close but one hand can change that quick.
Here are he pics.
Dragonflies always look like prehistoric creatures.
Ok Hope you had a good day. Gotta get ready for supper. Fish tonight

Cute little dragonfly...I make them up on my Loop De Loo anklets and they always sell FAST!

I think people are infatuated with those little creatures. As always we love your views through the camera eye.

You'll get to see lots of pics of our vacation when we get back to FL so I can upload them on the camera.

In the pix of the dragonflies looks as if he was smiling(lol), he was very photogenic. Great job with your calories keep up the good workand you will see results. Remember not all results make their appearance on the scales, some on the waistlins decreasing is where it shows up. emoticon

  Hi Eleni.......
We bought a new dish for our bird bath at an art fair early this summer. It is made of cement with a large rhubarb leaf as the pattern. It is beautiful!!! Ken had a large dragon fly that he had made several years ago and set it on the edge of the leaf. I don't know if this is the attraction or not, but we have never had so many dragon flies as we have had this summer. Your pictures are so clear and beautiful. It makes it possible to see exactly what they look like, and you are right........prehistoric is a good description.

Congratulations on your food intake. You will be rewarded by the scale soon. There are so many things that can cause it to move or not move. It can be discouraging.......but it will happen soon.

Take care.

I love the dragonfly picture as I'd never seen one up close--do they bite people?? The scale will catch up to your lower calories very soon. It's also in the 90's here all week and I'm missing the 80 degree weather we've had most of the summer. With the heat you probably are retaining water and fluids. Keep up the good work!!

Hugs,

Jill

Haven't been reading blogs lately so I enjoyed catching up on yours today. You take such interesting photos. I love dragon flies and your butterfly garden is thrilling. They are beautiful. Your cactus really did make me LOL !! You'd almost have to name him.
Sorry your son is still having difficulties. I'm afraid I have no advice. I am awfully glad you are in the groove eating well again though. I am still on track and my scale is ever so slowly moving in the right direction. Just a pound down this week but I have been telling myself that if I stick with it even with just a pound a week, next year this time I will be down 52 more pounds and that's pretty darn good.
Sending good vibes your way. Stay strong!

On The Tired Side Today

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Seem to be extra tired today.Spent a lot of time napping. It happens some days and I go with the flow.
i did stay in my calorie range again last night which surprised me. I am doing good so far today.
I saw another large black swallow tail butterfly and a yellow sulfur. But they were just teasing as they only flew by and waved at me. The pupa has changed yet but seems to have more spots on it. It took the first one 7 days to become a butterfly. It has been 5 days since we found this one.So it should be soon.Hopefully it won't be during the night.

I always have these butterflies.Just having more at same time.

My smallest and only plumaria that blooms

My big orchid. I counted a total of 19 stems that will have blooms
And now my grandson Tyler and Great Grand daughter Abigail

OK I better go check supper. Chicken potatoes, carrots cauliflower baked in oven. Smells good. Hope you had a good day.

As far as napping, I have days when I am very fatigued and sleep alot but then I'll be fine for a couple of weeks. I don't know what causes me to be so tired? Take good care of yourself and DH.

  Hi Eleni.........
I have been tired the last 2 days. I hope that by tomorrow, I am back to normal (if there is such a thing) as I have Elizabeth coming on Wednesday and my college roommate and her husband on Thursday. I have too much to do to be this tired!!!!!
Those little ones make it all worthwhile don't they...........I can't help but smile when I see how much hair Abigail has.
I hope you feel better tomorrow. You are doing great with your food intake and with all you have had on your mind, that is a great accomplishment. There is nothing like stress to push me to the edge of the wagon!!!

Monday

I had planned to do this early but didn't happen. I thought it was a good day until after supper. Bill waited til then to tell me Ben was getting evicted if he couldn't borrow money from us. i called Ben and told him we would loan him more but this was it until he pays us back. I also told him he was only getting it because of his children. I get so tired of this crap.
Oh well.
I did get a few things done. I cleaned my refridgerator out from top to bottom. That is a biggie for me. I have done good with my eating so far but have to admit I am very aggravated right now.Hopefully the rest of the night will go well.
Ok here are today's pics.
First is the pupa today.i don't think it will be much longer.
The I had 2 butterflies on same plant as same time.
Then a small skipper
Then Bill's ginger and then plant Bill bought the other day
And last is a moth that got in house

Here is a few flowers and my obscene cactus

Ok Hope you had a good day
OOps I missed Bill's plant.here it is

Hi Eleni, I know it is upsetting when your grown sons have to borrow money from you. . .as I've been there done that is all I can say. Is he working or how does he support himself and his kids--you don't have to answer that just thinking outloud. Try to stay positive and not let it ruin your day. Just think of all the positives in your Life and I'd say Bill is at the Top of your List. He sounds like a wonderful and caring man. Your garden and pictures are always beautiful and thank you for sharing them. Take one day at a time and you are Blessed.

  Hi Eleni........
The butterflies in your area must think that they died and went to heaven when they discovered your new garden. They certainly are making good use of your blossoms. I just showed your cactus to my husband and he laughed. I had a couple of cactus in my classroom that I had to remove when they started sprouting because the kids were having way too many laughs.
I do have your mailing address (from Christmas card) and will send all directions when I send the seeds. The seed pods are plentiful, but have to dry some before I remove them from the plants. I have enough seeds for the population of Florida!!!
Enjoy your evening.

Short Blog

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Just got back from grocery store and have to get it put away.I did go over calories yesterday but not bad. I wasn't going to eat out tonight but Bill has worked so hard in back yard I decided to take him to his favorite place.Carrabbas. I was glad to see that they now have cups of soup and smaller salads. I had a little of Bill's soup and we shared the salad. I also had them bring a box when they brought food. Brought part home for snack later.Only had one piece of bread
The butterflies like the new plants.

Let's just say she doesn't take constructive criticism well! Oh well, like Larry used to remind me, she can't stay mad for long because she'll need something from me very soon! Butterfly garden and new butterfly

Saturday, August 13, 2011

It is finally finished. As some plants go dormant or die we will replace them. Next I will finish hummingbird area. I found out that the new purple plant is also a good hummingbird so Bill will go back and grab one. He went to Home Depot and got card for white flower. It is a pentas. Also found a great site that tells stuff about the different flowers and what kind to plant with them. I had all three it said went with the pentas. We just fine tuned the original garden and it looks better too.
First is the back side.3rd window from left is where I sit and take pictures. Bill took almost all todays pics for me. Then the original garden, then the view from my window and then new lower new area. Heart planter and unusual new plant

And we had a new butterfly come. I had one of these a long time ago but this one hung around a long time and Bill went outside and got better pics that I did. The hard part was identifying it.It took me about an hour. It was in my book but coloring was too dark in book.found a great site to identify from now on. i had to go thru 33 pages before I found it. This is a White Peacock or Anartia Jatrohhae. usually is in south Florida year round but travels up state during the summer.
First is the pupa #2 today
I think i missed one but this is plenty.
I was in my calorie range again last night. I might go over a little tonight. Ok Gotta go.Bill has card table out so that means a board game, need to get in there before he changes his mind

  Hi Eleni.........
I love what Bill did with the stones to divide the garden space. It looks so nice as do the variety of flowers you have.
When I was out among the Cleome weeding the other day, I had a black butterfly with the blue circles toward the edges of the wings like you had in some earlier pictures. I don't remember the name, but I definitely remembered the blue circles. It was beautiful.
My gardens are beginning to go into their Fall mode. Peak was around July 10th and now a lot of the flowers are fading. That is one thing that I really like about the Cleome. They last way into the Fall.
Have a great Sunday.
