Special Visitor Today

I was very excited to look out my window and see a hummingbird. i grabbed camera and got a quick pic. At first it just looked like a blur on camera but when I downloaded it to my computer I was in for a great surprise. Needless to say I was thrilled by what I saw. It does give me hope that I will be able to attract the hummingbirds. It was also nice to see more than one butterfly in garden at same time again today.
Here is the hummingbird. It isn't a great pic but much better than I thought I had

All I have to do is be patient which I am not good at being.
Here is my grand daughter Felicia feeding her daughter my great grand Abigail. Seems like just yesterday I was feeding Felicia.
I am not doing well on my weight loss. But it will happen.
Brianna is coming to spend the day tomorrow. Grandpa is taking her to breakfast for some one on one with her. Then later we go to docs for my ICD check.
I need to make a pot of soup so maybe I will have her help me do that.

What a lovely feel good blog. Your hummingbird photo is beautiful and nothing like a toothless grin to make you smile. Your kids living nearby really is a bonus even though there are times it might not seem so. Nothing like family. My kids live near, but as far as extended family they are thousands of miles away. No doubt Brianna is picking up some great cooking skills from you and 50 years from now will think of you every time she makes a pot of soup. Thanks once again for your comment on my blog. That little hummer just made your day didn't it...and ours too! I SO love those beautiful little creatures. The first thing I did when we went to N.Carolina at our cabin was put up the hummingbird feeders. They gave me such pleasure watching them flit around! I'm glad you got the shot..that is a wonderful camera to catch those little whizzers! The GG is so cute...it is nice to see that your grand-daughter includes you in such special moments. The photo of the hummingbird turned out great Eleni! Aren't they the sweetest little birds to watch? Our children/grandchildren/greatgrands sure do grow quickly ... we need to enjoy every second of them! Enjoy those butterfly's. I have some that will come and hover in front of me when I sit on the patio in the AM. They act like they are really looking me over. Of course, I never have a camera. I also love hummingbirds and see them often while sitting out in my patio--they just are the cutest little birds! I enjoy just watching them. I also love butterflys but don't see many around for some unknown reason. Enjoy your Grandaughter and Great Grandaughter as they have a way of growing up so fast. Once again a nothing day. Got up real early but went back to bed. I was going to get back on track today but didn't happen. Then this afternoon my 41 year old son called and really aggravated me. He left a crying message that their lights were being cut off and needed some money. I am so tired of helping my kids out. Sorry but it gets old. I worked hard and long for many years and rarely ever asked for any help. I was more pissed that he waited til last minute. I was not too nice to him and asked him why did he wait til the last minute. Bill gave him the riot act when he stopped there to give him the money. I was just thinking the other day that we just might be able to get our account built up but I should have known better.
Oh well.
Bill has got the back wall where pool was looking good.Will get a pic tomorrow.
Here is the pupa.The book said you should see the wings at some point. It looks like I can just slightly see them. I am hoping it doesn't change during the night so I can see it.

I SO understand! I sometimes think my kids are my ministry! I failed at Tough Love 101. When your grandkids are involved it's hard to say no. Mine wait 'til the last minute, too. That makes me twice as mad!!! Somehow the young people don't have the same work ethic that we were raised in. It's a different type of world and everyone is struggling with this scary economy. Uggghhh! You are the world's most compassionate mom! You should NOT have to be contending with this nonsense at this stage of the game. I'm so sorry but your kids all know that you are a SOFT touch! Makes me aggravated at them for not standing on their own two feet. I left the house at 17 and was darn happy to have my independence. I NEVER asked my mother and dad for a cent...well...I can't say that because she did help us put about $500 down on our first home with my first hubby...but he was a deadbeat..so he let her and I should have spoke up...but at 17, I wanted that house BAD! My mother NEVER baby sat and my MIL never did either. My mom told me that she had raised me and wasn't intending on raising any more kids...so that was that. I have a friend that does nothing BUT baby sit her grandkids and it wears her down..but if that's what she wants to do...she should. Don's mom does the same thing that your kids do to you...lays on the guilt and makes HER problems his. We have spent a bloody fortune helping that needy manipulating mother and sister of his...erp...now you know why I'm NOT her greatest fan. I think you need to lay down the law and tell these kids that you aren't their bank..then maybe disconnect your phone, and put steel bars over your windows..hee hee. I know it's hard! Hi Eleni, I know how you feel regarding your son's request as one of my sons is always hitting me up for money--how does he think I live. Like you, I always worked hard for my money and wouldn't have thought about asking my parents but this is another generation and we are in hard times. Nothing new here. My days are actually very boring. My weight loss motivation is at an all time low. have no motivation.
I did get a pcture of two butterflies on plants at same time. I need something new to wander into yard.
First two have 2 butterflies and then some others I took today. The pupa is the same.
Someone gave Bill this plant last year. We thought it had died but it came back.Does anyone know what it is

I did get just a few things today. I put what pics I had on computer onto a disk. Did a load of clothes. And thats about it. Bill brought sandwichs home and he is off bowling.
Ok I need to set up the DVD plaers to tape tonight.I will watch Master Chef and tape Closer.

Beautiful photos. Regarding the motivation though... Ahemmmm... I know that you KNOW what you have to do to lose the weight. You just need to DO IT! My advice and challenge if you'll take it is three times a day to close your eyes and focus on your reasons for losing weight. You have much to enjoy, including Bill, those grands and GG's and I could go on and on. Positive self talk really does help. Get back to what you did that worked. Let's make august a great month. You can do it. I hear you regretting that you're not doing what you need to do. I was too. We NEED to do this for so many reasons and putting it off isn't going to make it any easier. What beautiful butterflies! Your garden will be wonderful. After showing us how you measure everything, I took heart. I am having a hard time getting portions down to a small enough size. Everything I eat seems to be too much in calories but too little in size to fill me up. Guess my stomach has stretched. How do you manage that part of it. And late night snacking? that is tough for me. How are you handling it? I know that you are doing much better than I am. Your video showed me how!!! Lazy day

Nothing much going on. A little on the tired side.
Bill went out for breakfast with his daughter. Then he took Roxy to get her monthly bath and spruce up.Her coat is whiter and softer. Now she can get dirty again playing out in the sand in back yard.
We did get some rain this afternoon but not much.
My butterfly pupa is still hanging. Hoping it starts changing during the day so I will see it..

Beautiful pictures. Of both G/children and GG/children...and butterflies. Just a note, I have the same steamer and I love it! It gets a lot of use here! Hope you enjoy your new butterfly garden. My flowers are about a thing of the past. We are in water rationing mode now and with temp. in 105 to 110 range, it is hard to keep much alive! I am just concentrating on the trees and shrubs now. Butterflies are a symbol of hope. They found thousands of butterflies etched in the walls of concentration camps...I love them, too! I think my granddaughter is shocked that she can't have her way 100% of the time at Nana's. They tend to make her The Princess. She's 8 and has a bit of a temper...but not a problem for this old school teacher. Both of the kids are well-behaved and easy to have. They're appreciative of every little thing. Tomorrow will be another Walmart run and I have to get lab work done for my Aug.12 check-up. I've got a hard spot left over from my car accident last November in my right breast. That was the worst injury besides the fractured rib. I want to make sure it's just scar tissue from the haematoma. The kids have helped sort through the playroom so we have another load to take to Salvation Army tomorrow, too. I believe in child labor! Report Inappropriate Comment

I was so pleased to see caterpillar has gone to next stage which is suppose to last 1 to 5 days if I read the book right. Here is last night and then this morning

Hi Eleni, are you going to put anymore statues in your butterfly garden.i see you went shopping and got more things.nice red bowl for tomatoes. i got a steamer too but don,t use it still in box never opened it.it been 3 yrs now.glen got it for me for christmas 3 yrs ago.i thought i,d use it but probably more when in my own place. i like my crock pot better.i want to get a bigger crock pot.Bill took nice pictures.have a super day.
