Very Short Blog

Thursday, May 26, 2011

I have a lot to do today so this will be short. I have made my big pot of soup and it is cooling on stove.Still have to bag it. i decided no computer til I got it done. Spark was so slow yesterday I did not get near catching up. Then I couldn't get photo's to download.Looks like it is better today.
Here are the pink coneflowers that my butterflies love.They don't like the one redder one I have.Bill s going to help me repot these sometime today.

This is the plants I thought were coneflowers that had gone dormant but they aren't.They are a daisy type plant I got last year.

ok dear friends. I haven't gotten anything done the last couple of days so I need to get something done.

    It's GREAT that you got your soup together! I need to start making mine again...I love soup any time any where! Even in the dog days of summer here I could eat soup for every meal. DH would have a fit! emoticon

I made a faboulous dish last night...certainly not low calorie, but SO tasty it was worth the splurge! Maybe I'll blog about it...and share the recipie...it was SO good!

I LOVE your coneflowers...I think the white one's might be Gerba daisies...they are so pretty also...I planted those up at our little cabin when we had it in N. Carolina...boy oh boy am I SORRY emoticonwe sold that place.

It was our little slice of paradise! emoticonI loved hiking in the mountains and tubing down the rapids...loved it! emoticon

    My productivity is a little low, too! Trying to COMPLETELY clean the kitchen zone...seems to being taking too long. The boys are eating me out of house and home. I'm going to Aldi's in Atlanta this weekend to stock up on kid treats. Treats that won't tempt me will be the problem.

Another hot and sunny day in Florida. Another do nothing day for me. I tried to catch up on my spark stuff but spark and my computer were so slow I gave up. So I really got nothing done. I was going to make soup but didn't feel like it.Even cancelled my hair appointment as I just didn't feel like going anywhere. Got in a verbal argument with Angel.Actually I blew up at her. Sent me to the chips and dips.Dumb Dumb Dumb. So stupid of me.
But anyway.here are som pics of the coneflowers with a butterfly.The butterflies love the pink ones.
Ok no pics today.I have been trying for an hour and they will not upload.Will try to post them tomorrow.
I was happy with the way DWTS ended. Tonight will be AI. I hope Scotty wins but I like Lauren too. Either way I think both of them will go far.
Ok have a good night all.

    Sorry you had a stupid day. I did too. We had storm warnings for the whole afternoon so I turned off a lot of electronics, including my computer and sewing machine.

But, I totally LOVED DWTS finale and would have been happy for anyone....but he was the perfect one to win. It was my favorite season, I think.

Hope you have a much better day today! And I do, too.

I hope we both have a much better day tomorrow. . .I also like Lauren and Scotty and think they'll both do well afterwards no matter who wins tonight!

Another Lazy Day

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Not much going on today. Did some laundry and cooked super. I tried some cubed pork chops. They were good.I thought they were a little dry and they were very lean but Bill loved them.Only see them at store once in awhile. I also got some ground chicken patties that I will try one night.
It is very hot here in Florida.
I feel so sorry for all the people that are going thru these horrible tornados. Makes my problems seem very small.
Here are segments of a poem that was on 4DJSHEART49 blog some time ago.

Well you know those times
When you feel like there's a sign there on your back
Says I don't mind if ya kick me
Seems like everybody has
Things go from bad to worse
You'd think they can't get worse than that
And then they do

But the good news
Is there's angels everywhere out on the street
Holding out a hand to pull you back up on your feet

This is just part of it but I like it
But this is my favorite. I may have posted it before but thats ok.I got this from my buddy Katie

Serenity Prayer for Weight Loss

God grant me the Serenity
To Make good food Choices;
Courage to turn away from baked goods;
And energy to exercise daily.
Living Healthy one day at a time;
Enjoying my Journey;
Accepting that the road to Wellness can be hard;
Taking the tools of better eating out into the World
As I should, free from the bad habits of the past;
Trusting that making wise decisions today will pay off tomorrow;
If I Surrender to my Will
I will not beat myself up in this Life and the Next
But I will remember that this is a life long Journey;
A Journey that is well Worth ever Pound Lost.

Ok got to get vcrs set up.Have to decide what to watch and what to record. Wish I could watch 2 at once.LOL

Not much going on today.My eating has been sporadic and not the best.
I did have my first portebella mushroom sandwich. It was pretty good. They had two large ones for $1.50 so I had to try it.
KATIE233. asked what the books were that I got at the library store.

Your Backyard Wildlife Garden by Marcus Schneck
I is for Innocent by Sue Grafton ( large print)
Lost & Found by Marilyn Harris (large print)
The Night of Four Hundred rabbits by Elizabeth Peters ( large print)
The Fifth Vial by Michael Palmer ( large print)
Sandcastles by Luanne Rice ( large print)
Blind Alley by Iris Johansen (large print)
Girls in pants by Ann Brashares
The Rule of four by Caldwell & Thomason
The #1 Ladies Detective agency by Alexander Smith
The most I paid for any was $1.50.

Here are some bargain ones I got at Winn Dixie
Killer Summer By Ridley Pearson
Audition by Barbara Walters
Mountain Fears by Stuart Woods

So i have plenty of books to read. Plus I already had a few I hadn't read yet when I got these.
Bill is now bowling on Monday nights. I am not too thrilled about that. i don't mind it when he bowls during the day but I like him home in the evenings.
well nothing going on so will say goodnight.Hope you had a good day.

Another Day With My Best Half

Sunday, May 22, 2011

The day started out good and has been fairly good all day.
The first thing I saw when I checked my email was that I had been nominated for motivator of the day. i never understand how I could possible motivate anyone the way I have been struggle for months. But it was very nice and have already met some new sparkers. Thanks to all that voted for me.
Next we headed out to do our thing.First went to Bob Evans for lunch as we had a gift card and I like their food. I did fairly good with calories but sodium is the killer there.Had cup of soup ad 1/2 sandwich.We split some fries.
Next was Home Depot.I know those who know me are laughing now. We went to check out sink counters. I want drawers on both sides so it is easier to function.We found some that will work and they are 20% off. It will be some work for Bill but will make kitchen much nicer. Bill doesn't like everything mismatched but I could care less. A full kitchen replacement starts around $12000. What I want with discount is around $800. And I am still trying to talk him into just revamping the doors like he did on cabinet next to stove.That would only cost about $50. And I would be happy as can be.
I have been wanting to get a different hummingbird feeder as the one I have just isn't working. So I found one.
Then I had to check out the flowers to see if they had any new and interesting ones.Surprise Surprise. They had pink coneflowers.First time they ever had the, I put one in buggie. Bill went back and got 2 more. See he is bad too. Now I have plenty of cone flowers as the ones that are coming back from last year are also pink.The two I ordered are red and I don't like them. But overall it was a cheap trip for us as we mostly looked things over.
Next was grocery store. I got a lot of fruits this time. Apples,Cantolope,watermelon,awesome strawberries,grapes and nice red cherries..I still have oranges and grapefruit.And all my salad stuff.
I got myself some fresh shrimp I am going to fix when I finish this.I have left over salad mix from yesterday that calories have already been counted so it is free.
The new Jesse Stone movie and Sister Wives is on tonight.Even tho I don't believe in polygamy I can't help but like all the sister wives. I like the original wives the best.
Ok Time to go eat and watch TV with my darling Bill.
Someone commented about how nice to see a couple that just enjoy being together.It is way more than nice. We both know how lucky we are. i guess the real key is that we truly like each. Plus there aren't a lot of men like him around. emoticon
Here is my second gardenia bloom.I am so happy this plant is doing well.I have tried for years and they all died on me.

The coneflowers

Hummingbird feeder

OK i will say good night for now.Hope you had a good weekend

    Ha...having been lucky enough to have met 'your Bill' I can tell everyone first hand that he's an easy one to love! emoticonHe's just so easy going and ready to tackle anything that will make his sweetheart emoticon..that being...YOU..... happy!

Yes, indeed he is a rarity in this crazy world full of greedy men who only value women for their eye value! PITIFUL!

    It sounds like you had another great day with your sweetie. The honeymoon

never ends! emoticon

I'll be waiting for the pics of your kitchen, when it's all done! If your DH is as handy with remodeling as you are with the camera, it will good enough for HGTV!

I must WARN you about that hummer feeder. DON'T throw away the receipt! I've got 2 of them and one leaks like a sieve!. My DH has tried blocking the leaks with glue, but it just pops up some place else. And those feeders are not cheap! So far the other one isn't leaking. Oops! I just remembered that I haven't used it since we came back from FL, so the last time I used it was last fall. Wish me luck!

You're in FL and have hummers? What months do you have them? I hung hummer feeders, last winter, in Charlotte County and never saw one. Then I read that their winter migration route takes them to Texas, not FL.

New kitchen designs are no longer matchy match. The other day I was watching HGTV and they had a new kitchen with dark cabinets on the bottom, and white on the top. So you should be just fine!
