I can't believe all the silliness about the world ending. I actually have 1 daughter that is scared to death. Crazy.
Nothing much going on. Little odds and ends things. Got grocery list done and fridge ready but we are going tomorrow. I have this pain i have been getting in my lower back muscle plus the other hip is hurting.I am just falling apart today. LOL
I finished the throw for couch

here are the 10 books I got for $18.Several are large print.First time I got large print but sure looks easier to read

Here is a couple of small sunflowers I grew from seeds.I thought they were going to be big but there are not.I need to get summer to tell me what to get for big ones.

Bill is in charge of supper so no telling what he will bring home. But scale is looking good and eating is better. Hope you are having a good weekend

The throw is very pretty and bright! We have all these sunflowers suddenly popping up in the backyard for no reason, it's weird, but they are nice!

I love your throw...........I wish that I could crochet like is perfect!
Is your pain from arthritis? I get it in my shoulder blade area due to a torn rotator cuff and in my lower back because of osteoarthritis. That saying about "Getting older isn't for wimps" is so true!!!
Have a relaxing Sunday.

Spent The Day With My Sweetie.

Friday, May 20, 2011

This was our day to just hang out.But we do that a lot anyway. We had planned on getting subs and going to park and eat and read our books but it was just too hot.
So we went to walmart and got a few things.Bill got a couple of shirts and I got a new cutting board as my sharp knives makes me get new board every few months. Then we just stopped at subway and ate our sandwiches. Then we went to Pal Harbor library to hang out.I checked out their book store and bought several books.Even got several that were in large print. That is nice.Only bad part was the woman working there is someone I had hoped to never have to speak to again but I was cordial.
Then we headed home for a nap.
I made a pot of chicken and pasta soup this morning from leftover chicken from last night. The pasta soaked up most of broth so i added more and more seasonings. It must have been good because I ate 2 large bowls. It was good. LOL
remember the one bloom on my plumaria plant.Bill went out this morning and checked and this is what is on the plant now.
This is a quick pic I took of baby hummingbird on web site.A few minutes later it left the nest.
This is blurry but you can see it is a woodpecker. It flew off before I could get a clear picture
I just glanced out my window and I wished I hadn't .Just saw 2 rats playing out at corner of yard.@#$%^&^%$##$%^&
The scale is being good to me.Hopefully it continues. Doc called to tell me my blood work was good. But when I started asking questions there was one problem. My thyroid med needs to be increased and they are writing me a new script. My potassium was the best it has every been. Colestorol was a little high but I can only take low dose of med.
Ok TV time

Glad your bloodwork was good with only a few issues - and the scale is looking good, too, that's great! Always love the pics - I realize I need to take more. You aren't the only one who has told me lately that I need some new photos.

You two are too cute. Sadly, there aren't a lot of couples who have fun just being doesn't matter what the activity are just glad to be with each other. You are blessed.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
Sounds like you had a good day yesterday with honey. Thank you for my card, they do always make me smile! Your soup sounds really good, I want some now..Your pictures are beautiful and I always love to see the birds. I should start taking my camera when I take my walks, maybe I could get some pics. I can never get them when the birds are in my yard because i scare them off. Good job on your weight and your bloodwork, good news is what we like to hear. I will start radiation treatment in a couple weeks, looks like more of a nuisance than anything else. I feel better each day. People complain about how old they are getting, I just tell them to make the most out of each day you get..if you have your health, you have everything right? Well, I'm going to get some exercise in before we go to a family cookout, I have a grand niece that is turning "1". It will be fun, talk to you later, stay well,

I love to read about happy relationships. Keep it coming!
Your flowers are Beautiful!
Mostly good news from your blood work. You must be doing something right!

It's time to get a cat! Those rats and mice will move out of your yard quick, if they see a cat hanging around, even if they SMELL a cat!

Up here, in CT, we have a neighbor we call the "cat lady". She had about 20 cats before the landlord put a stop to it. She still feeds a few cats so when we're up here, I put a dish out to encourage a couple of her cats to hang around our house, just to keep the mice away. It also helps lighten her financial load, buying all that cat food. A couple of weeks before we leave for FL, in the fall, I taper off on the cat food and they just start eating at her house again.

Slow day

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Haven't accomplished much today.Am still doing good with eating. Got aggravated last night and did not binge altho I wanted to.
Do have some pics to share. Here is my birdhouse that never has birds

And the baby eagles are almost as big as parents.Am guessing they will be leaving nest soon.Still think it is hilarious the way they will back up to edge of nest and bend over and poop goes flying. Never mess in their nest.I know TMI.

Todays butterfly
This is Chef Jonathan Waxman cook book.I ordered it for the anedotes he writes in it. Probably will not do any of recipes.

And I saved the best for last. This is first bloom ever on my plumaria's. Unfortunately it is on other side of pool and I can't see it from here so Bill took picture for me.It will have several more blooms. I have had the plant around 4 years now. I have 3 others and lost 2 last winter.

Ok i need to go get something constructive done. emoticon

  Hi Eleni........
Love your pictures.......
Last night when Ken and I picked our grand-daughter up from the babysitter's, we took a different road home and were driving by a huge pond with what looked like a dead tree, when Ken stopped and told me to look closer at the dead tree. There was a HUGE nest and 2 Eagles sitting on branches on either side of the nest. We didn't have our binoculars with us, but I am sure that there are chicks in that nest. Tonight we will take the glasses and try to get a better look. We are used to seeing Eagles closer to the Wisconsin River, but now they are becoming more common in the rural areas near larger bodies of water (ponds and small lakes).

That purple flower looks like milkweed, which is the host plant for the monarch butterfly. Am I right?

Your Plumaria is beautiful!

Is that a real lizard on your birdhouse, or is it part of the birdhouse. If it's part of the bird house, that might be the reason there's no birds using the house. It looks like a predator to them.

I'm so glad you mentioned the baby eagles. I'm watching them now and haven't missed a day since you got me started. When they stretch our their wings I'm amazed at how their feathers have filled out so much. They look ready to just jump out of that nest any minute. I don't want to miss it.

Your pictures are so inspiring! Makes me wonder why I don't notice more beauty in the nature around me? Weigh to go on reining in the calories. Your aggravation didn't result in just released another layer of insulation! Off to mother's tomorrow. They almost called the ambulance today...but I guess she is rallying. Getting everything ready and packed up tonight so that I can leave early tomorrow.

My day for Yucky Visitors to Back Yard.

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Well I had a visitor in back yard today I could do away with. See if you can see him here. i thought it was a squirrel

Nope. It was this

I called Bill and told him if it gets in the house I am moving.
Then when I was pulling out of drive way I happened to see something next to Bill's old truck. Yep another black snake.I couldn't get my camera out fast enough so no picture. It was a small one but we just can't get rid of them.
Ok here are some better pictures. I have shown you my desert rose but it never seems to show just how bright it it is again.Actually this is two,Part of blooms are from plant behind the first one. Then my yellow hibiscus in front and another rose bud
I did great with calories yesterday. The best in a long time. And it is looking good for today too.
i got some good news at docs when I went for my coumidan check.I found out since I am on medicare i can have a machine at home and can just call in results. Saves me time and money. And it is free.
Bill is going to High School to see Brianna get an award for being on honor roll during her senior year.
Ok I guess that is it. Hope you are having a good day

here is Aunt Kayla with Abigail
