I am still not use to Bill only working 3 days a week. I like it but it is a change.
His down in the dumps this afternoon as his bowling today was not good. He has gone to get meat for picnic tomorrow. I will not be going for 2 reasons. It is too hot and I don't like picnics.
I did not go to Felicia's baby shower tonight either.
I made a roast for supper and the meat was not a great cut. I didn't even save the leftovers.Wasn't good enough to waste calories on.
I did exercise today and scale is down but it goes up and down every day.
I do have some pics to share. Here is the Jamaican orange.Once peeled it is size of small grapefruit. I liked it a lot.

This is another orchid that has started to bloom. It only has part of one leaf but several buds.

I showed you this plant the other day when it only had 1 bloom.

I have always wanted gardenias and they always died on me or stayed small with very few blooms. I got this small gardenia tree last year and I saw it was full of blooms

And I saw this little guy when I went up on pool deck to read in the sunshine.I sat up there for 15 minutes and it got very hot.

I have decided to go to exercise room at night and do something easy for at least 10 minutes. This is in addition to what I do earlier in the day.
I didn't forget the cemetery pictures but I wanted to look up the history first.
Hope you had a good day and your weekend is wonderful.
I have gotten a lot of comments on my vblog today. It is still hard to believe so many people have seen it.
Ok good night to all.

Oh I was not happy with AI last night. One of my top 3 went home. If either girls win I will stop watching.

I have an orchid that finished blooming. Is there anyway to "bring them back from despair?" Or, should I just toss it?? It was so pretty but given to me w/only one bloom. Have a great Monday!

  Hi Eleni.........
Bill sounds like my Dad when he had a bad bowling experience. His mood was definitely affected negatively.
That Jamaican Orange is "UGLI" but if you say it tastes good, I will have to give it a try.
The Orchid my husband gave me for Valentine Day has just 2 blossoms left. It originally had 11. Now the real test.........will I ever get it to bloom again??? I wish I had your gift. Gardenias are so beautiful and smell so good. Is there anything that you can't get to grow?
I wish you and Bill a beautiful Easter Sunday.

Enjoyed your blog. I like that you don't go places you don't want to for what ever reason. I have a hard time saying if I don't have other plans. I thought I wouldn't want to watch AI without Simon but I do watch it. I think the judges have been too nice but I do like the new judges. I was sorry to see Stefan leave. I like Lauren and Scotty. I would have liked to been able to hear Simon's opinions about the idols this season. I'm trying 10 mins of fitness also.

Good morning from TX! Your plants are so gorgeous and I do often wonder what it is that lets you grow those orchids. I never seem to be able to get them much past the store beauty.

I love AI and have watched it since the First Season - the talent this year and the mostly positive vibe is so much better after years of negativity, but it has always been interesting. I loved Stefano, too, I really thought it was time for Jacob to go. But that kid was a class act when it was time to say goodbye. I do like the girls, though, and I don't really care who wins, or at least not yet. They are all so good.

I like your idea of an exercise room. Maybe you'll take pictures of it one day? We're thinking of making our son's room an exercise room now that he is out. We have 2 rooms on that wing and one I use as an Art and computer room.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi ya! Love your pics as always! They are sooo interesting and always so good! I don't know quite what to think of American Idol...I really like Stephan alot. I'm on the fence about the girls as well...I really liked the very colorful one that got voted off fairly early. Who do you want to win, do you ever vote. I don't then get mad when someone I like gets kicked off...duh...Have a happy happy Easter dear one! emoticon

You have a beautiful garden and must have a "green thumb". . .I'll have to try a Jamaican orange if I can even find them here in CA. Its great that you are exercising as that is my weak area--I still seem to be hit and miss. . .

I hope your DH feels better soon as that isn't the end of the World--LOL--but he must be hardest on myself!

I'm looking forward to the Cemetery pictures. How do I access your vblog? I'd like to watch it.

Decided I needed to get out of house so we went out for lunch and then later to Walmart. After lunch Bill needed to go by a job site and pick up his drill he left so we stopped at an old cemetery. I will show some pics from cemetery tomorrow. It is a very old black cemetery that people have finally cleaned it up. But that is tomorrow.
Went to Walmart to find the BL meals but the one closet to us didn't have them. I was just curious about how many calories etc they were.
So I picked up a basket for my books and a new basket for Roxy's toys.Plus a couple of kitchen gadgets. And a new fruit that I will show tomorrow after I try it. It is an Ugli tangelo from Jamaica. It looks like a wrinkled grapefruit.
The eagles are getting big.I hope at some point they grow into their fat lower body and big feet.

I do have some flowers blooming out front. This hibiscus is about 7 inches across. and my desert roses are blooming again. This is only the two red ones.I have one more that is a pale pink.Almost white My eating is all over the place. I would see skinny people at Walmart and get pis-sed. Not their fault but I guess it just makes me feel bad because I can't get this weight off. One of my spark pals that I admire so much blogged about how she couldn't understand why people would keep eating too much when it made them feel bad. Well I do it and I don't understand it either. If I put my hand on a fire and it burnt me I wouldn't do it again. But why I and many others mistreat our bodies is a mystery to me. Heck it is a mystery to me how I got so heavy in the first place. I have not always been heavy.Ok No Beat Ups Just get ups. I just need less get ups.
Ok Oh Roxy did better on her walk last night. Bill kept her lease shorter and kept her on other side of him when they saw other dogs. But she was still not good.
Ok Have a good night all.

Love you Eaglettes...just adorable. I know, I know about the food thing..but I'm with MizCathi on the crap they sneak into processed food. Puts you on a bing roller coaster, if I eat food in it's purest form I always stop before I'm stufffed to the gills. I think our world is so stressed that we do turn to food to plug our emotions. Some people use alchol, some people smoke, there are all kinds of addictions. I mean look at Oprah who actually has everything and every access to every tool in the universe and yet she still has the weight struggle. I think she's a pretty highly evolved human...and still the weight.

It's a day to day thing for me...some days I do really well, and other days I slip. I guess it's the human condition. The important thing is that we are aware of the problem and are doing our best to balance it with health and happiness...thats a great feat right there! emoticon

  Hi Eleni........
Good Luck to the Eagles...........I am old and still haven't grown into my "Fat Lower Body and Big Feet!!!"

Your flowers are so beautiful. I will bet that you look at them as often as possible throughout the day. Thanks for the info re: your cameras.

I agree with Sandy re: eating for our health. It should be our main concern; but........we are human and also want to look great, so it is a constant emotional battle. We are in this battle together though, so when you feel like venting, I am here.

Have a wonderful Good Friday.

Uh-oh, another trip to Wal-Mart! emoticon. You find the best gadgets. I bought aqua globes from Wal-Mart for the new plants I bought and I'm not a fan.

Some days I'm thankful that my addiction is food but mist days it aggravates me. There are worse addictions out there. I can have goodies starring at me and I won't eat them unless I'm hungry. I can stop at a few as well. What kills me is the lack of exercise and what I eat. I need to get back on track with fruits & veggies & homemade dinners again. It's a constant battle and I'm proud if you for not giving up!

You have health issues and need to be eating for your health as I am still eating for my health as it comes first. The issue about skinny people well that is just life yeah I got skinny by eating healthy and stopping the smoking and drinking. I would think your eating for your health as well. So don't think that skinny people have no issues with life as we know we all do. It is something you have to work through just a road block if you will, and you will work your way through the feelings they are natural and you should have feelings that shows your human and still alive:) You sure have a green thumb and I love how the eagles are growing so fast. Have a good evening. Sandy

Food is designed to lighten our senses so that we want to eat and stay alive, you know? PLUS, the big food manufacturers have figured out how to make foods taste great and want you to buy them again, a form of addiction. Food with garlic triggers a response to eat chocolate, for example, and the cycle continues.

Another issue is that we have learned to comfort or drug our emotions with food so that we can cope. Unfortunately, when we try to do another things for comfort, it's a very deep emotional response, and we have to learn other behaviors. So it's beyond not feeling good when you overeat, it's a matter of a deep emotional response that is covered up with a natural drive to eat, until you are overstuffed.

Anyway, the baby eagles are cute. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's blog. Hang in there!

Hot Wednesday

Wednesday, April 20, 2011

Somehow we skipped spring and went straight to summer.
I am still struggling with my everything. But I did stay in my range yesterday and got my exercises done today.
I don't think I gave the name of the bird hero.It was a mockingbird. A very fierce and fearless bird.It chases snakes, dogs, cats and sometimes will dive bomb humans. The snake was not a dangerous one.Just a back yard black snake.
As most of you know the majority of my pics come from right here thru this window. So you do see a lot of the same things.
I have been watching some seed pods floating around out there and they are kinda kewl so here are some pics.

I think they are very delicate looking.
Bill brought home the 3rd and final paint sample. I think it will be the one I am thinking of in my mind.Which is a dangerous place to be.
Roxy has been very bad on her walks with Bill. She now goes bonkers whenever she sees another dog. Bill talked to trainer yesterday and he was puzzled as she is usually very good around other dogs. And she is good at dog park. He suggested a harness to walk her with which i HAVE BEEN MENTIONING TO bILL TO TRY. HE TOLD BILL TO PUT HER DOWN ON GROUND UNTIL SHE CALMED DOWN.HE TRIED BUT COULDN'T GET HER DOWN SHE WAS SO EXCITED. SHE ALMOST GOT OUT OF HARNESS. HE IS GOING TO MAKE HARNESS A LITTLE TIGHTER. OOPS. Sorry about the caps lettering but I don't want to rewrite. He made her lay down when Angel and Brianna came til she calmed down.Maybe if he does it here a few times he can do it when walking her. She has never been an aggressive dog and only recently when he walks her.
Ok Gotta go. Hope you all had a good day. Mine was so so.

  Hi Eleni.........
What is your camera? All of your pictures are so clear and beautiful!!! I showed them to my husband and he couldn't believe that you took them through glass. I watch every day to see what your next subject will be.
Is Roxy excited "Happy" or excited "Aggressive" when he sees the other dogs? Either the harness or the choke collar should work. If they don't, I would check with your vet.......especially since this is just starting to happen.
I hadn't realized that Mockingbirds were this confrontational........interesting.

I would like a little bit of your warm weather.........but I do want a long Spring and not an instant Summer.
Take Care. emoticon

We had to get a shock collar. Christie would go after anything that moved. She had no fear of bigger dogs. She is a pug. I have only had to use the shock on her a couple times. Now just putting it on makes her know to behave.. She still doesn't like the neighbors dog. He is 5 times her size.. He is afraid of Christie..
I wish I could get Flowers like yours to grow in my yard. The only thing that grows is the ones I don't care that much about.

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

The snake came back and was making himself at home in my butterfly garden. But I did have a hero that chased it off and it was not Roxy.
Here is the snake and then my little hero.

Ok I have a ground turkey meat loaf in oven.Half the calories of ground beef.
Hot sunny day here.
I stayed in my calorie range yesterday and exercised for over an hour today. Enjoy your evening

Monday, April 18, 2011

We had another snake and Bill took Roxy out to help find where it hid. Sissy girl never even barked or smelled it. Bill got it penned in a corner and then cut his finger bad when metal bar he had in hand broke.Snake went on it's merry way. Roxy paid no attention. Most dogs would have gone bonkers at least barking. I was feeling safe out there because I thought she would warn me but now I know different.
My eating has been better so far today. i have a pan with cauliflower, broccolli and sliced carrots I cooked on top of stove in some chicken broth. Then I have chicken potatoes and onion i cooked in oven.Just need Bill to get home so we can eat.
He went by Home Depot to get a lighter shade of the paint I liked the best. The two we got are pretty but darker than what I want.
Rebekah had to take Felicia to ER last night.Turns out she was dehydrated.
But it was good as she now has a doctor that will see her. Turns out the baby will be coming sooner than we thought. She is further along. Hopefully it won't be weekend we are in Daytona. I told her today I would not come to hospital but would come when she gets home. That way we can have one on one time. She will be flooded with people at hospital. I think she was a little disappointed but I think it is best for me. I didn't tell her I am also not going to the baby shower this Friday.
Supper turned out very good. I still have lots of calories but we will see what the rest of night brings.I still have leftover salad from lunch that calories are already counted.
Here are my butterfly visitor today.

Please check out my pals blog and watch the u-tube she has on her blog.

Your pictures of the Butterflies are fantastic and a breath of fresh spring air. I am covered in 2 or 3 feet of snow still so our Butterflies are a way off yet. You have inspired me to do a painting of butterflies. Thanks.
Have a good week.

I hate housework, too! Does anyone like it? I never wanted to be a slave to my house. I love it neat and organized, but the kitchen and bathroom never stay clean. whoa is me. It's good that you know what's best for you, but it does cause controversy doesn't it? You're the Gramma of this young girl, and this will be your great grandbaby. You're right to stay out of the drama and enjoy the sweet times.

BTW, I adore chimes. My husband HATES them! Always has. How can somebody hate chimes? And now that I am in my own home with space, I want chimes gosh darn it! This is a sore point, but I don't make a battle over it. One day I'll sneak in a set.
