It is a beautiful day.
My eating has been awful today and that is all I will say about that. I did exercise tho.
Bill repotted the hibiscus and planted the hummingbird plant. So here are some pics of the plant and my new chimes.

  Hi Eleni.........
I thought that you told the young people who come to your house that you don't want any "kissy face" going on. Those two in the garden obviously aren't listening!!!

I love your chimes. We have 2 chimes in the front of the house, one set in the back and 2 more in the lower garden. I love the soft sounds that come from all over.

Have a great week.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
Thank you so much for my latest card from you! It is so nice knowing I'm not alone in this journey of mine. Last week I got a terrible rash all over from the chemo. I was itching all over and couldn't sleep. I went back to the doctor again, she put me on a week of steroids which worked and I feel much better. She also sent me to a dermatologist who felt the steroids were doing the job which was right so I'm just wondering what next. I sure hope nothing else. Anyway, thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, love your pics.

Trying to get blog done early

Saturday, April 16, 2011

I am trying to do this early so I can spend time with Bill later.
The poor Eagles were covered in snow earlier today but it has melted and babies are fine
When we left yesterday I saw my mexican sunflower had some blooms. The plant or tree is around house where it is too hard for me to get to. But where there is a will there is a way. The plant is outside exercise room.So I opened the window and used my cane to snag the right branch and voila.

The hummingbird plant I got is a mandevilla. I double checked on web and it is for hummingbirds.

here are the 2 yellow hibiscus plants

And this is my new small cactus

Since I went in exercise room I did 20 minutes of my sit and be fit tape.
The scale was down this morning and I am just hoping it will still be down tomorrow. My weight has been swinging 10# all week from fluid.
I did take time to go up on pool deck and sit out in the sun for 15 minutes. It got hot quick. But I need to get some sunshine.
So far I have been doing so so with my eating. Not real bad but not real good either. But I am working on it.
Well Bill will be home soon and I want to spend time with him instead of this computer.Hope you are having a good weekend.

I am so glad that the Baby Eagles are doing ok in spite of the cold weather and snow. Thanks for keeping me up to date on their well being--I'm rooting for them and you!

  Hi Eleni........
As usual, your flowers are beautiful. When I had my knee surgery, I bought a long-handled gripper type thing(such a scientific description!), and it is amazing how well it works in areas that I just can't reach otherwise. It goes way back into lower cupboard corners and helps to put up wind socks on hooks way up on the over-hang on our house. When one has to be inventive due to not being able to do something the "USUAL" way, it is amazing what we can come up with.
Have a great week!!!

Like your technique for picking flowers. I will have to remember that. I did sit on the upstairs window sill the other day to clean the outside of the window in our office, I popped of the screen and reached around with the cleaner and now the window is clean on the inside and outside, I was doing that as the mail truck pulled up across the street, something for him to talk about back at the post office.
I hope you, Bill and Roxy have a great weekend. Sandy

Errand Day and Roxy is in dog house.

Friday, April 15, 2011

I am too tired to write much so will share some pictures.
We did go to Home Depot and I got a nice hummingbird plant and 2 yellow hibiscus and a small cactus.Pictures tomorrow.
Here are eagles, flowers from back yard and bug.
Now to Roxy. She woke me up around 5 am and sounded like she was throwing up.She did in her bed. I cleaned most of it up and then later in morning I took cover off both her beds and washed them.I covered her bed with a blanket. We have left her out of her crate the last two shopping days and she did good. BUT On way home I casually mentioned to Bill that I hope she didn't chew on her bed.. Bill had gotten the covers out of driver but we were in a hurry to go. BIG mistake.
This is what we came home to

Now her bed is missing some sides. Looks like she will go back in crate when we leave. Actually it was funny but!!!!!
Ok I will catch up tomorrow. I am tired.

Ok Last night was an eating disaster for sure. Today has been much better. But then I always do my worse damage after 9.
I went outside for a few minutes on my walkway Bill made for me and debudded a couple of plants. I have 2 pots that have something growing that I am not sure what it is. I am hoping it is a coneflower. My coneflower seeds are coming along slow but sure. We are going tomorrow and pick out some paint for living room. I am tired of the pink. I want something more relaxing. I was thinking of a light mint color but I will look at light blues too. Any suggestions for colors that will also curb appetites. I am going to look for one humming bird plant. I didn't realize the plants I ordered were manarda plants for hummingbirds. But it will be awhile before I see any flowers on them.
I have more than enough butterfly plants. I had 2 butterflies at same time today.
This guy was back today. He is a large butterfly

And the eagles

And Miss Roxy today

We had rotisserie chicken for supper and I made myself some potato salad which was half the calories of store bought. Also had Bill put the leftover in fridge right away or I would have eaten twice as much chicken. i may still have some later but this way I don't do both.
Ok It is time to go chill . Bill had to get some more zaps from skin doc and a biopsy of one spot.
Have a good night.

What a cute smiley face, and the usual cheerful pictures of your plants and puppy... always nice. I bet your eating has something to do with your worry for your kids, though. It's hard, I know. As for the walls, I am thinking of painting the room Eric just vacated a light caramel coffee color. I just decorated his bathroom with a light aqua, very soothing and cheerful, with small accents of some browns. Trouble is, the rest of my house are golds and reds, so I'm going to have to figure out how to coordinate all this! Or do I? Have a nice day!

I don't know anything about paint color and curbing appetites but mint is a wonderful color. We have yet to paint any rooms other than the kid's rooms and we've been here 4 1/2 years.

The butterfly pictures are great! I hardly ever see any here during summer.

I was so full from lunch yesterday I didn't even eat dinner last night. Jason made sloppy joes and I didn't want those anyway. I need to get back in the routine of cooking.
I hope you have a great weekend! Stay cool!

Your garden is sure coming along and love that big orange-yellow butterfly! Late at night is when I seem to eat most of my calories and I actually do feel hungry--can't sleep unless I am full. . .Otherwise, I'm doing pretty well as exercise most days and try to stay within my calorie range. A soft mint sounds pretty to me--but I also love a light blue.

One of my weeknesses is eating too much in the evenings, also. I can do great all day long, but something about the evenings......I can clean out the fridge in no time flat.
Maybe I need to up my fiber late in the day?

  Hi Eleni........
I have never grown coneflowers from seed before. We have such a short growing season, that I have always bought the plants. They spread, so I move the extra plants wherever I want them the next summer. They are such a cool flower, but they don't bloom here until August.
I am really tired tonight. I volunteered today and we were REALLY busy. Have a good evening.

very quiet so far. I did not pick up phone when oldest daughter called and that was good choice for me. She has been given an eviction notice and I can't deal with her drama. Long story.
It is really getting warm here. It is evening and it is still 82 degrees.
Just going to relax and watch TV tonight.Maybe get Bill to play a board game.
