Not much of anything going on today. Just got a text that William was released is at home.
I used my his and hers crock pots today.Works out well as I know exactly how many calories are in mine. Getting 2 small crock pots was one of my better ideas.
I have fallen off the wagon but working hard to get back on.
haven't watched the eagles much today. I have noticed the babies are out from under her more. The way they sleep they look like they are dead and then up pops a head.
Hope you had a good day.
I need to get dishwasher going and get back to fixing my meds. My sister asked me how many pills I take a day so I counted. Without the advil I take 49 pills and with advil it goes to 61 every day.

Good to hear William is home.

49 pills a day? WOW!! I'm horrible with remembering pills. If I had to take them regularly I'd be in trouble!

Glad William made it home. At 61 pills a day, I would say you must be a sickie girl. I hope they're all doing you some good. I'm afraid to count mine.

  Hi Eleni........
I am glad to hear that William is home. It should take away some of your stress. That is a lot of pills, but if it means you are healthier and with us, then that is what counts.
My grand-daughter will be here soon, so I had better get busy. Take care and enjoy your day.

Not much going on.
It looks like my son William will be coming home tomorrow if infection in leg is good enough. No gall bladder operation.
I just looked at the eagles and there is a live fish in the nest. It won't be breathing much longer. The babies get more active each day.
I really don't have much to say. Hope you had a good day.

  Hi Eleni.........
Glad to hear that William is coming home and that the infection is healing. Waiting until it is better is the only way to go re: surgery. When I had my knee replacement scheduled, I had a bladder infection. The surgery was immediately canceled until the infection was completely gone. Doctors don't want to take chances and that's a good thing.
Love the butterflies.
Have a good day.

Loved the pics of the butterflies.....:0 and it is awesome news that your son's infection is getting better. I know how worrisome infections can be. I know you are glad that he didn't have the gall bladder surgery, though I have to tell you that it is much quicker and simpler than it used to be. My DH just had it and they were able to do it laparascopically even though he had a colonostomy some years ago, which was then reversed....I hope I have the right term; I always get those words mixed up.....but needless to say, we were very happy. He ws able to go home the same day.

Loved hearing about the eagles feeding her babies the fish and that you got to see the nest. emoticon

Quiet Sunday

Sunday, April 10, 2011

Got up late and haven't done much. william text me that there has been no change.Hopefully tomorrow will bring good news. Or at least some plan of action.
I have been talking about getting a small hummingbird garden going.Maybe just a couple of plants under a feeder. As some of you know I had one hummingbird last year.First time ever. Well. I saw something out of the corner of my eye and low and behold it was a hummingbird. It even came over to window and hovered for a few seconds.Only got one very blurry picture. I wasted time trying to change setting on camera. So if I can find out the best plants to get I think I may just get lucky

The baby eagles are getting bigger and venturing out from mom more.

Today was weigh in day and scale was very kind to me.Unfortunately I think most of it was fluid which has been a big problem for days. If I can get another loss next week I will be more encouraged. I was down 4# today.
Ok I think I am going to go take a nap.Had another slight nose bleed last night so couldn't use C-pap machine.I still can't keep it on all night but slowly doing better.
Beautiful sunny day here.Hope your Sunday is a quiet relaxing day.

yes 4 lbs is 4lbs no matter if it is fluid or not i count it. even if you lose it and gain it and lose it i count it as a lost.that was a good picture for a fast picture. it is hard to get them they move so fast. the little eagles are sure growing.so how is Roxy doing is she being a good girl.you have a good day and have to show us what plants you bought for the hummingbirds.

So sorry about your son as he must have some whopping infection if they will not do his surgery as gall bladder pain is really awful. Praying for a quick recovery
Does your machine have a humidifier? Know if not they dry out the nasal tissues easily. Keep plugging with it on of these nights you will finally get much deserved rest that we have promising you.
When I get back in town I have a flower matting for butterflies and hummingbirds you just keep it wet and supposingly[?] it will attract both I only wanted it for 2 pots in the sun and it came in 8 foot rolls.
Wonderful job -4#!!

  Hi Eleni.......
It is Monday, and I am hoping that you had good news from William. I am still praying for him.
Have you ever planted Bee Balm (Monarda)? It is a perennial and does spread, so you don't want to plant it where it will take over other plants. The Hummingbirds are crazy about it. I have had them almost land on me when I am in among the Bee Balm blossoms.
We were lucky last night weather-wise, but there were areas just North of us that really got hit hard. Huge trees were uprooted and thrown around like matchsticks. Mother Nature lets us know just how powerful she can be once again.
Have a good Monday and congrats on the weight loss.

I hope you do get some good news from William.

The hummingbird photo is great (you got one!). The BW is nuts for them too, and I recall that she went wild in Quartzite one spring (in southern Arizona). There were as many as 20 or 30 in view at one time several days during the week we were there. She had hummingbird feeders for years, but hasn't had any lately.

Hoping for some good news tomorrow regarding your son.

WooHoo on the weight loss. I know you have fluctuations but you have been really working at it and I think it is paying off.

We occasionally get hummingbirds. One year I had two at once and I ran out and got a hummingbird feeder and then didn't see another for the whole season.

You probably know that hummingbirds like red flowers with tubular shapes, like Salvias. We have several come back every year in our yard. They also like butterfly bushes. I have a HUGE one next to my kitchen - lots of sunlight there.

Good going with the weigh-in and fluid loss. It counts!

It never Ends.

Saturday, April 09, 2011

Now my oldest son William is in the hospital. He has had a gall bladder attack but because of his leg they can't do anything now. He was almost killed in a motorcycle wreck when he was 21.Both his legs were burned badly and he gets infections .He has a bad one and they have to get leg better before they can do anything else.Because of other health issues they are not sure what procedure they will use. They may even send him to Shands Hospital. They are suppose to make a decision on Monday. He is one of the toughest people I know.I wish all my children were like him.
Angel is trying to get her sister Joy to come live with her and get back on her feet. She has even lined up a job for her. She changed her mind and told Joy she could bring one dog. The female boxer. It is almost impossible to find foster homes. especially for the pit.She is really regretting she didn't give us the dog when we offered. Too late now.
It is a very hot day here. It is 87 outside but feels hotter in the sun.
Tomorrow is my weigh in and altho scale was down today that doesn't mean it will be down tomorrow.
Just got my hair cut so maybe that will help.
I now have plenty of new stuff to read.
I just started A Rule against Murder by Louise Penny.
I also have Miss Julia Rocks The Cradle by Ann B Ross. And The Secret Life Of Damian Spinelli by Carolyn Hennesy. Plus 3 magazines. Reader's Digest,Good Housekeeping and O for Oprah. O is mostly ads so it doesn't take long to go thru it. So I have plenty of new reading stuff.
I was watching the eagle and one baby i a big bully. I thought he was going to hurt the other two. I don't like bullies of any kind.
Here are the two oldest.

This little guy was so cute wobbling all around
The one close to mom is the bully.

Looks like e are going out for supper and then get groceries. Think I will go grab a quick nap.Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

  Hi Eleni......
I am sending up prayers for William. No matter how old our children are, they are still our babies and we worry just as much as when they were little.
I had to laugh at your hair cut affecting how much the scale shows; I am actually laughing at myself because I have been known to take out my contacts before weighing........maybe the scale went down because I couldn't really see the numbers!!!
I am currently reading WATER FOR ELEPHANTS. The movie comes out the end of this month and I want to finish before we go. My husband has read it twice and loved it.
We reached 80 degrees today, but I think we will pay for it with major storms later. There is a cold front coming in to all of this warmth which could create the PERFECT STORM. I hope I am wrong.
Have a great Sunday.

My husband's brother also nearly died in a terrible accident and severely injured his leg and because of Diabetes it never could heal. He finally lost the leg completely about 2 years ago, and he was glad to be rid of it.

HOpe your new haircut has a positive effect on the scale! Haha.

My DH and I went yard saling all morning then stopped by Costco. It was nice to be gone all day and then buy food for just us. It will actually last for awhile now.

Friday. Lost this the first time

Friday, April 08, 2011

Got my blood checked and it is on the water side so will skip my coumadin tonight. Then we went to lunch and that was not so great. Tried a new place and it was not healthy by any means. On the plus side the scale was down some. But so was the fluid. So I really don't know where I am. I did not go over my range last night and might make it tonight. It will be close.
My daughter and grand daughter came by for a few minutes yesterday.Since she never sees my blog I am sneaking in a picture of her little belly bump. She is just now starting to grow. She has 6 weeks to go and will get much larger. She has no idea.

This is not very good but the second pic is all 3 of the eagles. The 3rd appeared yesterday.
And the view out my window.

Oh I did exercise this morning for first time in several days.So that was good. Have a good night and relax and enjoy your family.

  Hi Eleni.......
Felicia looks so happy and healthy. She really is small for only having 6 weeks left. Are she and Brianna sisters or cousins? Both are such beautiful girls.
Congratulations on the pounds going down. That is my favorite direction......
Your butterfly pictures are beautiful, as usual. Our grand-daughter was here yesterday afternoon and managed to pick most of my crocus in a very short time. We had the "TALK" about not picking flowers unless she asks me first. She is so fast that it was done before I could even turn around to see what she was doing. Oh well, there are still a few left to enjoy.
We are in danger of severe storms tonight and tomorrow. I hope they manage to miss us. We will go to a gathering tomorrow afternoon to say Good-bye to our friend from Australia. He leaves for home on Monday.
Have a good weekend.
