Sunday, March 27, 2011

Our daughter Heidi came by with her family today. They brought a salad and we got subway.I also had a plate of watermelon and grapes. It was nice to see them as they live in Orlando. Landon is getting to be a little stinker. I was very surprised when I said it was time for a hair cut. I knew Heidi didn't want to cut it but didn't know Scott was extremely adamant about not cutting it.Bill and I laughed about it after they left. He is a wonderful SIL but has some strange issues. Roxy jumped up on him and he rushed to go wash his hands. He is a germaphobic. bad thing to b in my house.LOL But he is such a great guy tho.
So here are a few pics from today.

I have a hibiscus tree on patio that has the prettiest blooms. And my small orchid has more blooms. I have another orchid that only has 1/2 of 1 leaf but has a bunch of buds that will be blooming. And then there is the sunflower seeds I planted a few days ago.The coneflower seeds have not shown anything yet.

Update on Felicia. Rebekah's (My daughter) BIL is suppose to leave tomorrow to bring her home.So hopefully she will be home by Wed or Thursday at the latest. Rebekah called me from work upset and crying. It is tearing her apart to not be with Felicia. She said Felicia was getting upset so i told her I would call her. I did and she sounds good. She refuses to go stay anywhere. She said the police are sitting in parking lot watching until she leaves. The military came today and got all his military stuff. A big problem will be her dog as her father refuses to let her keep it.It is a 4 month old pit puppy. But we will all feel better once she gets home.
I am still having fluid problems. But it will pass soon. I did better with eating today. Dealing with felicia and her Mom have gotten me off track.
Ok I will say good night for now.Thank you so much for all you concern and thoughtfulness. You guys are the best.

Still praying for Felicia and you. Landon is very cute but your SIL will be getting upset when they start mistaking him for a girl. I would think those thick curls would also be very hard to keep the tangles out of. Time will tell. It has recently heated up here with kids too. I don't think it will ever end.

What a cutie your Grandson is!! I have a Grandson that turned 2 in Jan. but he doesn't have nearly as much hair as your darling GS. I sure can relate to your SIL being germophobic as my DIL is and she's always telling my son to wash his and Noah's hands. Heaven forbid he should catch anything here--LOL. . .and she hates it when he touches our beagle! I know you'll be so happy and relieved once your GD is safe at home. Your flowers are breathtaking!

  Hi Eleni.......
That little Landon is really a cutie..........but I agree with you and Bill. It's time for a hair-cut.
You have got to have the greenest thumb on earth. Your Hibiscus is beautiful, your orchids are always blooming, and your sunflower seeds are huge already!!! I have another orchid question for you. Should I wait to transplant until after mine is finished blooming?
I hope that Felicia comes home soon so that you don't have that worry on your mind. And I also hope that your fluid goes away soon. It must be more difficult to breath when that happens.
I spent the entire day cleaning, so am pooped tonight. Good-night for now.

It's not so easy to be on track when our loved ones are having such serious issues, but I just know you can do it! Right? Subway was a good choice today, for example!

Your grandson is a precious dollbaby - you are so lucky!

And the flowers, so gorgeous! I've been gardening (actually weeding) for weeks now and can't wait to get the beds planted! We just found out our neighbor has a tiller and he told us no problem borrowing it. Yay!

My Grand Daughter is Having a Rough Time.

Saturday, March 26, 2011

Very upsetting news yesterday. My grand daughter Felicia who moved to Texas and who is almost 8 months pregnant was beaten by her boyfriend. The baby is ok and so is Felicia.Lots of bruises . The guy has 3 warrants and an AWOL Now her Mother is trying to get her home.Someone will drive to Texas and bring her home in the next few days. Police will watch her apartment closely until she leaves. We will all feel better once she is here.
I am off track with my eating.I was doing so good. Fighting fluid again and that always messes me up.,
Today has not been a productive day.Unless you call playing games on computer productive.
My son was suppose to come by but didn't make it.
Tomorrow Heidi is coming by with Landon. She came over from Orlando. It will be nice to see Landon. He is getting so big.
Ok I will say good night for now. I am so far behind in my emails.

I am sorry about Felicia, what is the matter with men that do this?,They get my blood boiling and I wish horrible things for them,I know they have to face there maker. The emotion damage they bestow on another human being is sometimes hard to comprehend.May the support and comfort she has from her loving family heal her from this tragic abuse.Prayers for her emoticon emoticonInteresting I have been having the same problem with fluid retention as well.Hope you feel better and get this under control,as myself. emoticonDiana:)

So sorry to hear of what happened to Felicia. I was abused by my first husband, so I can so identify with her. She (and baby) are in my prayers. Family support is so important at times like this, and it sounds like she has it.

I can also identify with you and the fluid problem. I had so many days of higher sodium consumption that I'm fighting it, too. Eating out is NOT my friend, you would think I'd get that through my head! Hope we both get our fluid problem taken care of fast.

Eleni I a so sorry to hear about Felicia. I can't understand why our young ladies let them selves be treated like that because they "love" them. I pray that this will be a wake up call for her and that she will be content to stay at home with her loving family. That she will find a peace and a new way of life for her and the baby. emoticon

Eleni, Yes, your GD should move back home where she and the baby are safe. I hope she won't decide to forgive him and give him another chance. She should get some counseling so she will realize she doesn't deserve that awful treatment. He should be in jail . . .I know you are so concerned and emotional right now and that's hard as if your like me you turn to food for comfort. Stay strong and take one day at a time. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Grocery day.I am Pooped

Friday, March 25, 2011

I am tired out from yesterday and today. To save Bill some work I moved all the pots from the patio out to butterfly garden.Used my walker and took them one at a time. I would take one out there and come back to patio and sit and rest a second and go again. Took me awhile. Bill went out a minute ago and took a couple of pic for me.And ofcourse he had to take a picture of his other girl friend.

And here is some of Bill's bouganvia.I cut a couple of pieces and put them in water,I don't know if they will last long but they look pretty now.

I did terrible last night but I am back on track today. I just got too frustrated and let it get the best of me.
Well I need to go put some more groceries up. Take care and have a good night.

Plants Are Done.

Thursday, March 24, 2011

The plants are done and I am exhausted. so this will be short.here is the set up Bill fixed for me and it worked well.

I got all the plants from the other day except for the two crotons repotted. They were so root bound. Also fixed 3 of my orchids. have two pots ready for when the plants I ordered get here. So that was a big job done. Bill still has to get the earth box fixed.
I did not exercise today in back room. But I am counting the time I spent on plants.
I did not eat after 10 last night. The scale has gone up but it is fluid.Altho I know I haven't gained it is a downer to see scale up.But it is impossible for me to have a gain.I have been in my range every day for a week or more. Just have to hang tough til fluid goes down. It does hurt the motivation.
ok I am headed to recliner to put my feet up

  Hi Eleni.........
Your set-up for potting plants looks a lot like mine. I was hoping to get out on my patio soon (I washed windows outside in my shirt-sleeves last Saturday), but since then the thermometer has plunged and we have had snow, so I am working on inside painting and sewing projects instead.
I am learning to look at more than just the scale to chart my progress, but it is difficult to see it go up or remain in one place when I do get on it. As long as YOU know that it is fluid, that is all that matters. I know that you are doing a great job and winning the "After 10" battle is wonderful!!!
Take care and rest after all of your work.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I too can't put plants out yet, weather report calling for snow Saturday nite. I'd like to be putting winter clothes away today but am wearing a winter sweater. Frost was on the cars this am and snow was seen in a far southern part of my state yesterday but I'm sure thinking spring, does that count? Hopefully, I'm back into life alittle while. I'll email you later with my updates. My scale went down alittle (2 pounds) which makes sense especially now when my taste for food left me and went south somewhere, maybe it will come back one day..anyhoo I hate to see the scale go up too knowing you've been good but since it's fluid, you have to wait on mother nature to get rid of it, sometimes she takes her time, hang in there.

love,
Margaret emoticon emoticon emoticon

Your garden and plants/flowers look so pretty and I'd like to pull up a chair and relax in your patio/garden. . .LOL. I do have quite afew flowering bushes and yellow vine roses in my front yard but my back yard is mainly a patio and just a postage stamp grassy area with 1 tangerine tree. I'd love to be able to garden but right now with 2 bad knees and a back it would be really hard for me to do it by myself. I sure wish I had a helper (your DH) like you do. It sounds like you both enjoy gardening. You should count it as exercise as I read a friend's blog and she said she counts housework as exercise. . .that should motivate me to get all those dust bunnies swept away--LOL! Well today is Bill's Friday. It will take awhile to get use to his short work week. I like having him around tho
I almost didn't get anything done today.I got up late.Did some exercises and then started a late lunch. Just as O got it ready to eat I got a phone call.It was my grand daughter who is pregnant with our 1st Great grandchild. She moved to Texas and is getting homesick. She talked to me for about 1 1/2 hours. I think she has changed her mind about having baby there.I am not surprised. The closer her due date the more she will want her mother. But it was nice that she called me.
Then had to talk to my oldest who just got fired from her job. By the time I finally got lunch I was ready for a nap. i just got up when Brianna got here to do her weekly stuff.
I did not cook supper.I started on my big pot of soup. It is on stove cooling now.I will bag it tomorrow. Watching America Idol. I have been watching it the last couple of years but it has some great talent this year.It is going to be a tight race.

Ok I did not do as good last night on eating. I did eat after 10 but it wasn,t much. It was 1 boiled egg and 1 small tomato. I will not do that tonight.
I did get some exercises down.
Hopefully tomorrow we can get the plants in bigger pots. Bill will be home to help. He still has to get the earth box set up.
I know I am forgetting something. Oh well. Here is a pic of a rose from out front.

ok I am going to watch AI.It is actually good this year.

  Hi Eleni.........
It sounds like you had a real "Family" day. I did too, between phone calls, a stop-in, and Elizabeth being with us from 4 to 8 PM and then getting to visit with my oldest son when he picked her up.
Tomorrow we will be having dinner with a friend from Australia. He is here for almost a month and is staying with other friends about 18 miles from us. He is a college professor at a University in Tasmania and is on break right now. We actually met him in 1977. He and the friends he is staying with met through a mutual love of sport cars. They were pen-pals and became good friends. He has visited the U.S. seven times now and has brought his wife and kids 4 of the times. It will be a fun-evening as he is one of the funniest guys I have ever met.
Take care. I love the yellow rose.
