Well today is Bill's Friday. It will take awhile to get use to his short work week. I like having him around tho
I almost didn't get anything done today.I got up late.Did some exercises and then started a late lunch. Just as O got it ready to eat I got a phone call.It was my grand daughter who is pregnant with our 1st Great grandchild. She moved to Texas and is getting homesick. She talked to me for about 1 1/2 hours. I think she has changed her mind about having baby there.I am not surprised. The closer her due date the more she will want her mother. But it was nice that she called me.
Then had to talk to my oldest who just got fired from her job. By the time I finally got lunch I was ready for a nap. i just got up when Brianna got here to do her weekly stuff.
I did not cook supper.I started on my big pot of soup. It is on stove cooling now.I will bag it tomorrow. Watching America Idol. I have been watching it the last couple of years but it has some great talent this year.It is going to be a tight race.

Ok I did not do as good last night on eating. I did eat after 10 but it wasn,t much. It was 1 boiled egg and 1 small tomato. I will not do that tonight.
I did get some exercises down.
Hopefully tomorrow we can get the plants in bigger pots. Bill will be home to help. He still has to get the earth box set up.
I know I am forgetting something. Oh well. Here is a pic of a rose from out front.

ok I am going to watch AI.It is actually good this year.

I watched every episode of AI from the very beginning but I haven't watched 1 episode this year and don't plan on it. My beloved Simon is gone. emoticon

Even though you ate after 10 it was healthy. It could've been much worse!

Don't watch AI. That is a beautiful rose. I don't care much for florist ones but I love homegrown.
Hope your daughter qualifies for unemployment. It is rough out there.

I think you did well last night as a tomato and an egg only have around 100 calories so I say that is a good healthy low calorie snack. Your day sounds busy and kinda fun! I'm sorry about your daughter's job . . .Have a restful night and go get'em tomorrow! Your yellow roses are beautiful--you sure have a green thumb!

  Hi Eleni.........
It sounds like you had a real "Family" day. I did too, between phone calls, a stop-in, and Elizabeth being with us from 4 to 8 PM and then getting to visit with my oldest son when he picked her up.
Tomorrow we will be having dinner with a friend from Australia. He is here for almost a month and is staying with other friends about 18 miles from us. He is a college professor at a University in Tasmania and is on break right now. We actually met him in 1977. He and the friends he is staying with met through a mutual love of sport cars. They were pen-pals and became good friends. He has visited the U.S. seven times now and has brought his wife and kids 4 of the times. It will be a fun-evening as he is one of the funniest guys I have ever met.
Take care. I love the yellow rose.

Productive Day

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

I spent the afternoon helping a spark pal with some minor computer lessons. I enjoyed seeing the smile on her face as she saw she could do it. Made me feel good to know I did something productive today.
I made a discovery after I left to go home.I stopped at McDonalds to get a drink and was very tempted to get a small fry but I knew that is a lot of calories.I also knew I would be doing supper in a short time.So I was trying to find some kind of fruit cup.I couldn't spot it on menu so I asked. She said they had a bag of apple slices. So I got it and it was only 35 calories. She did give me a small pack of caramel that I gave it back.

Now i know what to get when I am out and about and need just a small snack.
When I got home I decide to have Bill bring home partial takeout. I had him get me 2 grilled chicken thighs. i then heated up someone leftover fresh green beans and cooked some potato slices. I already had salad left over from lunch. Saved a lot of calories. i am so proud of myself for not getting even one biscuit. That is a biggie for me.
I did not eat after 10:15 last night. I didn't get my soup ready early enough and since I started eating it before 10 and only went over a little I count it as meeting my night eating goal.I was also in my calorie range again. I haven't been counting the nights as I don't want to jinx it.
We are all feeling better today.
I really enjoyed Dancing With The Stars.I think this season will be one of the best.
I watched Heavy again. I like that the trainers don't yell and scream but they are only shown for 6 months. I wonder how many get to their goal. maybe they will do a show with updates.
Well BL will be on shortly.Have to set up recorder to tape the ncis's and Good Wife
Hope you had a good day

Sam's Club sells a large bag of cut apples and they keep for a week or so. I'm more apt to grab those and go than I am a plain apple. It's all about convenience. I like the yogurt parfait at McDonald's but I don't know how many calories it is.

Hi Eleni, It sounds like you are really doing well eating healthy and resisting temptations and late night eating. I actually went to MC today and ended up getting a double cheeseburger and small fries--and a diet coke, of coarse. When I went to track them I was shocked at how many calories they were--around 700, and to be honest it really wasn't that filling or worth spending that amount of calories on. This week I'm really having a hard time keeping within my calorie range as keep going over--usually 200 calories over. I doubt very much that I will see a weight loss this Saturday probably a gain unless eat like I should be. I am so proud of you--WOO HOO! Keep up the great job you're doing!

  Hi Eleni.........
Congratulations!!
! You are doing so well all the way around. I am very proud of you. I am also glad to hear that you are all feeling better.
I was hesitant about whether or not to watch DWTS's this season as I really do NOT enjoy Kirstie Alley and don't know anything about any of the others except for Ralph M. I do like him and I love to watch the dancing, so maybe I will tape the shows and then I can fast-forward when I need to.
Don't you LOVE The Good Wife???? It is supposed to be good tonight..........Calinda is in trouble.
Will close for now as I am behind (as usual).
Take care.

Short One

Monday, March 21, 2011

I am not feeling great so this will be short and sweet.
I did not eat after 10 and stayed in calorie range again last night.Miracles do happen. Tonight will be a struggle for sure.
Roxy has also not been feeling good today. Mine is just one of my routine not great days.
I did get my coneflower and sunflower seeds in some dirt.
Dancing with the stars is coming on. It should be interesting.
The butterflies are starting to come.
This yellow one is very hard to get a pic of. I almost didn't get this. They don't stop long.
And i thought this bee taken late in day was kewl.
Ok need to go check on Bill.He came home a little light headed. Think he didn't eat right today. Have a great night

Busy Sunday

Sunday, March 20, 2011

Ever have one of those days where you seem to be going non stop but don't have a lot to show for it.Well that is me today.I have gotten a lot of little things here done.Mostly been sitting on my stool in kitchen to get them done. Bill and I both were exhausted and had to take a nap.He is still sleeping.
i spent quite some time bagging and doing prep stuff in kitchen plus fixing my lunch.Plus getting a pot roast in oven that serve fantastic. My mouth is watering. Pus I have one steamer basket full of fresh green beans steaming.
I got the broccoli and cauliflower cut and bagged, Used some to make soup for lunch.Put a little pasta sauce in it again before blending it all up. Before I steamed the beans I had to cut the ends off etc. Then I cut the ends off of my romaine and bagged that. Then I cut in half and cleaned 4 peppers and bagged. Then I made a big salad which I took a big helping out for supper .I also cut up 1/2 a cucumber and a few pepper slices for my snack bowl. Then I cut up potatoes and carrots for roast and brown the roast and got it going. Then had to clean all my mess up. Got dishwasher going.
Did not get any plants done.I am going to get Bill to set me up a work area out there and I can work on them a little each day. I did take the plant out of kitchen window as it needs to be split in half.Like I said I don't have a lot to show for it but I was steady at it for several hours.
Good news is I did not eat after 10 last night. I really struggled with that too. My snow cone maker has saved me. I like the mushy ice with a drink in it. The scale was down even more this morning. I was so tempted just to grab a few grapes or a small tomato but I didn't..
I haven't exercised per se today but have been busy so I am counting that as my 10 minutes.
Well Bill lost the instructions for the earth box so I need to see if I can find it on line.
I weaken and ordered some blood red coneflowers and another bright different looking plant.
Ok hope you are enjoying your weekend. The weather here is amazing.
Oh I just remembered. I did get a moon shot last time.If I had waited a while I might have gotten a better one.Brianna called me to remind me to look at it.

You sure did have a busy but I think you got alot done as I have nothing to show for my day. Today for me was mostly a day to catch up on SP. . .I didn't even spend much time in the kitchen except to try a new recipe for dinner but it was so bland tasting no one really liked it--a nice slice of a tender roast sounds really good to me!! You seem to be doing really well and have your vices under control--way to go. Keep it up my friend.

Your pictures of the moon are fabulous--you should frame them. I actually forgot but it was raining so doubt if I could have seen it well.

I, too, was in the kitchen all day today. I made Corned Beef and Cabbage and had my oldest son and his wife and little girl, my youngest son, and my Mom over for supper. I also did 4 loads of wash and cleaned both bathrooms and tonight I am exhausted.

Your moon shots are great. We had rain all day, so no moon tonight. Well, I am going to head for bed. I have to take my Mom to an appointment tomorrow and also out to lunch, so I had better get rested up.

Take care.

Congrats on the weight loss. You know what you've gotta do and you are doing it. I know the feeling though when you stand on the scale and think " oh now I should reward myself with a snack" Well DAAAH as they say. We know better than that. And we are stronger than that. For a long while I found that win lose or draw stepping on the scale would send me on a tail spin. I'm on a roll now and feeling like I am in control. You are too... I can tell. Spark on my friend spark on.

Taught Sunday School at church, worked in our rental property for couple of hours, and boxed up 9 boxes of books to take to 1/2 Priced Books tomorrow. (Another reason i love my Kindle! No more books taking up space and collecting dust.) Now on to some laundry until Amazing Race comes on tonight. ( I hope it's on tonight and not pre-empted for some basketball game!)
