Look What Bill Found Hiding on Patio

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Bill went on patio to water my orchids etc and there were 2 long green boxes I had put onions in sitting on top of each other. When he picked the top box off this is what he found hiding. I am not even sure what it is. I think it is a gladiola I tried to grow .

Pretty kewl surprise.
I have done really good on eating today. Better than in a while. Still fighting fluid.
Now I have 2 daughters and 1 grand daughter on crutches. My oldest fell trying to climb in her apartment window (2 stories up)and grand daughter hurt her foot cheering competition. And Angel is still on crutches.
Ok Gotta go .Hope you had a good weekend.

I remember you telling me once that you don't have a green thumb, but I beg to differ. You grew a pretty flower without even trying. That thing is huge! I like the coloring. I'm jealous that Bill can stand outside in a short sleeve shirt.

Did your daughter forget her key? I've climbed in my fair share of windows but thankfully I've never been hurt.

Ok Today I am one with story to tell instead of telling on Bill. We must be real good sports as most people would have gone ballistic.
After Bill got home from a small side job he went with me to get my hair cut. Then we went to get his ladder he had forgotten.By now we are both very hungry. We decided to go to a local restaurant that I thought might have a hot dog as I was wanting one. Anyway. We went here years ago and never went back as I didn't like it.So after many years we decided to give it another try. The name of place is the Marathon Grille on Nebraska ( this is for your info Royal)
We got a cup of avgolemeno soup which was very good. I ordered a club on wheat. Get ready .It's coming. She sets both our plates down and sandwiches looks great. You know how clubs are held together with toothpicks. So I touched the toothpick on one of pieces and low and behold out comes a german roach from under sandwich. I picked plate up real quick and got waitress fast.Gave her plate and told her there was a live roach on it. That was a first for sure. They were very lucky it was me and not someone else. I asked girl if I get a discount and they gave me my replacement sandwich free. They should have comped everything.
German roaches are bad in florida and he claimed they had someone spray twice a month. If there was one there are many more hiding. They are lucky I didn't stand up and throw plate.I bet I could have emptied the place and it was full of people. It goes without saying that we won't go back.
The weather is wonderful here.
I had trouble with fluid again last night. But it is much better right now. Didn't sleep until after4 . Put c-pap mask on at 6 and that helped with breathing.Getting old really sucks big time.
Well I need to finish putting the groceries up. Hope your weekend is going well. I will be a bowling widow tomorrow as Bill is going out of town for the day. He officially starts working 3 days a week next week. That is going to seem strange.

Oh HECK NO!!!! I can't believe there was a roach in your sandwich!! That's disgusting!!!! I'm not one to get creeped out by that but if it's in my food it's a different story. I would've screamed COCKROACH! There was a cockroach that come into my workplace in a box that was sent to us. One of the guys in the warehouse put it in a plastic bag and poked little holes so it could breath. It was pretty funny watching the females freak out. I was holding the bag and looking at it. That's the 1st live roach I've seen other than the ones at the zoo. We left it on my co-worker's desk that Friday night (she was off that day) and Monday morning the bag was empty. We saw it a few times after that but I haven't seen it in months.

I'm sure restaurants are dirty and infested with things, but out of site out of mind. I would NEVER go back to that place, that's for sure!

I loved the Marathon Grill - thought it was a great place - but haven't been there for a while, and probably won't rush back now. We find one of those in the house from time to time (two or three times in seven years) because they fly in, but then the flea poison on the carpet kills them or they starve or die of thirst.

That reminds me of the time I went to a Chinese restaurant with my boyfriend and another couple when I was in highschool and we ordered our dinner and while we were waiting we ordered drinks and a Pu-Pu platter. They went to light it and a slew of roaches ran out across the table. I stood up and screamed, as did my girlfriend. We called over the manager and said we did not want our dinners and that we were leaving and he said, "It's okay, the bugs, they live in here", pointing to the platter. My boyfriend's uncle was somehow connected to the board of health and we were told that they took roaches out of there by the shovelfulls. They were closed down for quite a while.

I thought this was nice and wanted to share.

A Short Poem Never Let Go of Hope Poet: Jancarl Campi

One day
you will see
that it all
has finally come together.

What you have
always wished for
has finally come to be.

You will look back
and laugh at what has passed
and you will ask yourself,
"How did I get through all of that?"

never let go of hope.
never quit dreaming.
never let love
depart from your life.

Another quiet day here. Bill has Roxy at Petco groomers. He called to tell me she loves to do a big potty on floor again. I just laughed. Better him than me.
The fluid is much better today . Got my blood checked and it is water.I wasn't surprised as have some good sized bruising . Haven't been eating as much salads and that changes everything. Just something else I deal with.
Well i am going to go grab a short nap and then it is time to make my meds up for a couple of weeks.
Have a great weekend

The poem is great! My husband has always drilled in my head about never giving up, stay the course, always do what you say you're going to do, which I had some of that but would give up on things too easy. So now with my biggest challenge ahead of me, I already know to stay the course, stay strong, be positive, continue to dream etc. He's so worried about me that I'm now telling him all the things he always drilled in me. He's also worried about himself too. They see a spot outside of his lung that they are going to MRI in a couple weeks. Please pray that is benign and nothing to worry about. He's also not been taking his directics like he is supposed to and his vitamins. He says he get back on them today. Well, I hope you have a nice weekend! Talk soon,

I have two big clippers and one trimmer, and most of the time I groom our dogs. Unfortunately, Gracie was never quite as easy as Harry, and Ralphy is a little dog. He just doesn't like to have the clippers around his head, so I usually wind up with a pair of scissors snipping away slowly, and talking slowly in a soothing tone of voice.

I think the thing with Roxy may be nerves. I know that I have had a mobile groomer come to my house two times now since my groomer left Petco, and both times Punky has pooped while getting groomed. The groomer said that is quite common and due to being nervous.

The Red Breasted Robins stopped by Today

Thursday, February 24, 2011

The robins are on their way home. I usually see tons of them for 1 to 3 days. The tree in back yard was full. Probably tree in front too but I didn't look. I did get a few pictures but you might have to look close to see him. They love that tree with all the tiny blooms.
So here are the robins

This is just something that caught my eye.I don't know the right name of these white things that float around.

And ofcourse Roxy.My exercise drill sergeant

I am having a lot of trouble with breathing today but most of you know this is something i just have to deal with. My eating has been extremely bad. I thought I could be good today but I baked Bill a cake with some cupcakes. I have already eaten 4 cupcakes with lots of icing. I did do some exercises even tho i didn't feel well. 20 /10 minutes.
Well I need to get the veggies in oven.I am making Bill another meatloaf and baked veggies.
Ok Hope you are all doing better than I am. Yes I am frustrated and mad at myself. But I just don't feel good and it is hard to be tough when you feel bad.

    Happy Birthday Bill!
I hope you're feeling better this morning. Time to stop beating yourself up for the cupcakes. We all have to give in to temptation sometimes or we wouldn't be human. I love the pictures of your robins. We sometimes have a cardinal that comes around but I can never get a pic of him, he runs away when he hears me. There was one at the cancer center when I was getting my treatment the other day but I just couldn't get a good pic of him through the glass. He kept me company that day, he was so cute. Take care and talk to you soon,
