Dreary Day

Dark and gloomy today. Good day for napping which I am going to do as soon as I write this.
Eating out too many times gave me a gain.I am hoping it is the sodium. I have been doing great with exercising. Even got 2 new tapes which are more aerobic than what I have.
Went and took nap first.
I made Angel 2 pots of beans.And I ate too many of the pinto,northern mix.Made my self sick. tasted good as I ate them but I paid for it. But I have her 2 quarts of the one and almost 2 quarts of the red beans.That way she can eat some and freeze some. i don't want to see any beans for a long time. I hope my stomach settles down as Bill is suppose to grill steaks later and right now I want nothing.
I tried to exercise earlier but only lasted my 10 minutes. I will do more later.
When we were out and about yesterday we stopped at the town parking lot that has a lot of flowers blooming.The local garden club maintains flowers there.
i have seem this first bush many times and this is first time I saw anything but just the green.I thought it was quite interesting.I have no idea what it's name is.

This is why i always try to have a camera with me other than one on my phone. Even in a parking lot you can sometimes find something interesting or beautiful.

When we went to lunch yesterday we saw a woman with a knee walker.I never knew they made such a thing.She had a broke foot and instead of crutches she had her knee on this narrow walker and skipped with good foot.Hard to describe but she said it was so much better than crutches. We are going to call around and see if we can find one locally so Angel can see if it will help her.She is putting her foot down way too much. They can be rented from internet but it would be cheaper to buy a cheap type than rent.

Hi Ms. Eleni, You are an excellent photographer! The flowers are beautiful! Nature is so awesome isn't it? My mother always made us beans when I was a kid. She would make a big pot of pintos with a big chunk of streaked bacon on top. I would always grab some of the fat, it was sooo good, can't do now, of course but I still like the pintos on top of cornbread, that's some good eating and healty too minus the streaked bacon..lol..Thank you for soup recipe, can't wait to make a big pot. Do you eat the beans plain? The head of our Sales Dept. has one of the knee walkers. He had surgery on his ankle and got it so he could move around faster. Since then a few other people have had surgery on their foot/ankle so he has let them borrow it. I didn't even think of that. I'm sure you can find a used one somewhere. Report Inappropriate Comment

You are right about finding beauty even in parking lots. I hate snow but yesterday at at the convalescent center there are two evergreens outside my Mom's room window. The way the snow was on them was truly beautiful. Should have had my camera. Report Inappropriate Comment

hi there, nice flowers or trees. sorry to hear that you made yourself sick of beans. i didn,t put kidney beans in my stew i thought yellow and green beans were a enough.along with potatoes ,onions carrots and parnips , celery and a little steak instead of stewing beef.it was good. i also added garden cocktail to it instead of water.oh yeah and brown rice.so i see i,m not the only one that gain we will get it off. next time i weigh is going to be friday.so i,ll see.i was on gazelle and treadmill too today did 30 minutes together. ok take care til next time.bye Report Inappropriate Comment

I would love to live in a climate like yours, I would be out in the garden every day. Love the bird shot, I forgot to take my camera yesterday and missed several good shots of Eagles and Canadian Snow Geese. I won't leave it behind on our next outing. Have a good rest, I don't eat beans, I love them they just don't love me. We are going to have salmon on the grill and asparagus it is in season so very cheap right now $1.28 a pound next month or so it will be .88 a pound. Busy Afternoon

Bill and I got some errands today.We still have to get groceries tomorrow. I almost have the grocery list ready.
We had our pizza lunch and I reserved the back room there for Angel.She is having Brianna's 18th BD party there. I can't believe she is almost 18. And 2 other grand daughters will be 16 this year.Alyssa next week.
Then to Wal Mart. The card table we play board games on and I make up my meds on has had a broke leg for ever.We finally got another one to replace it. Yesterday I broke the handle on my cast iron dutch oven, Went to get another one and got a different style. I should have gotten the bigger one and I may still go back and get it. The lid for this one will also fit my big skillet. It is really a deep fryer but I am going to use it as a dutch oven.

Here are some pictures of bush out front. The colored seeds are real.The orange flower is Bill's warped sense of humor. They are not real.They were some leftover plastic flowers and he stuck them in bush.

Tomorrow I will try to do Through the decades.
Eating hasn't been the greatest but still better than it was. So I am hanging in there. Our weather is still great.Actually hot during the day. We are suppose to get some rain tomorrow.

I used to drive by a woman's house on my way to work and always admired her flowers. Then I ran into her at the grocery store one day and told her how beautiful her flowers were and she smiled and said that they were all plastic (remember that I only saw them from a distance). What a great idea for those of us with black thumbs, Bill might have meant it as a joke but those of us with iffy looking plants it sounds pretty good. Do you have an exercise tape that gives you a good workout that you would recommend to the rest of us with mobility problems? . I admire those that are out running miles etc, but realistically that is not going to happen, it is not on my bucket list or actually any other list Eleni, keep up the great job, you are doing so well and we have already made it for an entire month. Busy Day

I had a busy day.For me.
I woke up at 6 and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up. I had a Doc appointment at 10. It was for Medtronic to check my device. There have been no incidences since I went back on arythmia med. He looked at my history to see when I had it go off.The time I passed out. He said my heart was going over 300 beats a minute. Which means it was just quivering and not pumping any blood. Difib did its job. He showed where I went into fibrillation but pacemaker got rythum back on another day.. This device is amazing. In the last 6 months it has saved my life 3 times. I love modern medicine. I may have bad days like yesterday and take a ton of meds but I am still here doing my thing.
Came home and took a short rest and then met friends for lunch. The picture isn't good as I had to use my cell phone. I took my little camera in but battery was bad and I was too lazy to go out to car and get my other camera.
The lady to my right is Emma.She is a very accomplished pen and ink artist that I met when I took classes from her and we became good friends. The other lady is JoJo and she paints beautiful oils and I met her in one of Emma's classes. She is also the one that had me bring my momma orchid to her orchid club. It was nice to see them both.

I noticed when I left house and when i came home that all the birds are very active and loud today. As i was sitting here I saw this guy. Since I take it thru the window this is bad time of day to do it.Can't get a real clear picture but here they are anyway

We are still having warm weather.It was 60 on patio at 6 am.
Ok i need to prep supper. I am going to just throw some chicken in a pan and throw some spices on it and into the oven it goes. Will put a few taters with it. I love one pot meals.

I too am thankful for modern medicine. It keeps special people like you in my life. Girl time is always nice. I think some gal pals and I are going to play bingo one weekend coming up if I can sneak away. I've never played and a casino in Milwaukee has bingo. I like the pictures of the bird. Nice pictures sister. I think that was a female cardinal.. They are the ones with the brown/grey coloring. The males are bright red all over.. I only keep one bird feeder going. Awesome photos as usual, love that you got to meet with friends. I agree modern medicine is great I wish they had these types of things when my mom was alive she died of a heart attack when she was only 48 years old. That was back in 1973 so they have come along way since back then. I am glad your still around, you brighten my days. Very Short Blog

Not one of my better days. I am feeling much better now.I spent most of day in bed. It happens every once in awhile where I have what I call a tired day. Just something I deal with.
No exercises today altho i may lift my weights a few times before I go to bed.
Have done good with eating.
My 2 new exercise tapes came so i will check them out tomorrow.
Weather is still very warm just dark and cloudy today.
Tomorrow will be a busy day.Glad my tired day hit today. i am going in to get my pacemaker/defib check in am and then meeting art friends for lunch. I had to cancel a lunch with them a few weeks ago. So i will just say goodnight for now.Hope all my freezing friends are staying warm.

Are you feeling better today? It's a good thing you're able to rest when you aren't feeling your best. I know Bill & Roxy take good care of you! Warm Day in Florida

I feel bad saying how nice our weather is when so many of you are in for a severe winter storm.We were in the 70's today and I had to turn my ac on. But that is why I love living here.
But do be careful all of you.This is suppose to be a very dangerous blizzard.
Tomorrow is my oldest daughter Joy's birthday. I can't believe she will be 42 years old. Seems like yesterday when she was born and her older brother who was only 4 told me to take her back because he wanted another brother.But I had 2 boys and I wanted a little girl so I was happy.
I did much better with my exercises today.I got a total of 61 minutes done.I used 5 different tapes to get it done but it adds up. Roxy is my cheer leader.Ofcourse in her sleep as that is what she does on her sunny spot.
I did get a good laugh on her today.It is like having a small child. I heard her with something in living room and couldn't quite see what it was.So I told her to bring it to me and she did. It was a poise pad she got out of the package in bathroom. I told her to go get in her cage and she went.Surprised me. She had to actually stick her nose inside the bag to get it out. But if that is worse she does I am happy.
I have also done good with eating yesterday and today. I had a lot of fluid yesterday and on top of that I took my 2nd water pills late so I was up a lot last night.But I dropped almost 10# of fluid weight. Which is not unusual at times.
I taped the new show Heavy but haven't looked at it yet.
Tonight I am taping the NCIS's and watching BL. BL is not so interesting anymore.Too much yelling and crying and complaining. I like the last few shows the best.

got to laugh you telling us about Roxy what she done. that is just like a little child.the funny part is she knew she did wrong and she went into her bed. very funny.glad you got your exercising done today.so how is your night snacking going?i find if i want some multi grain chips i can have like 10 if i count them and mark them down and circling it.or if it is popcorn that popcorn has to due me two nights.like you and your 100 calorie bags treats when you want them.i sure cut down on my chocolate bars.anyways you are doing great .i bought bL dvd with songs on it i,ll have to try it out on my treadmill tomorrow see if it was worth while buying.well take care and keep exercising Report Inappropriate Comment

knowing you are warm makes me smile. We got 20 inches so far. DH is out trying to snowblow. It is difficult with the winds. I shoveled this morning for the dog too. But had to try to get the shovel out first since I could only open the door 6 inches or so. Keep up the good work on your exercise. The blizzard is the worst I've seen. I'm thankful I don't need to travel in it and can watch from the comfort of my home. We had an ordeal trying to find a door to go out so we could get the dogs outside this morning. Neither one like this weather and refuse to do their "business". I guess when they have to go they'll go. I got a giggle out of your Roxy story. She listens better than a child!! I've been DVR'ing BL but have yet to watch any of the episodes.
