Another Rainy Day

Friday, January 21, 2011

It looks like we are going to be a little cooler the next couple of days. But it will still be in the 60's and above.I am not complaining after I hear how cold you guys are.
Roxy was very disappointed when I went in back room to exercise. It is only room that ever has sunshine coming in.She darted to spot on floor where sun usually shines and there was no sunshine, But here is where she ended up That is the side of my leg that you are seeing. She climbed under my chair while I did my chair exercises.
I have increased my exercises to 35 minutes but goal is still just 10 minutes a day. The scale was down this morning so lets hope it is still down tomorrow.
Have been doing with everything so far.
Well Angel's luck continues. She went to go in her garage and it was flooded. A pipe had broke somehow. Her ex boyfriend is coming to fix it for her. I hope they do not get back together. Like i said she can't win.She tried to go in there and her crutches went out on her. I am afraid her foot will never heal right and she has stepped on it too many times.
Now for some good news. I am always telling on Bill for his silliness but now I have some bragging to do.He bowls in a league on Fridays .There are 100 people that were bowling and he had highest score for one of his game.He had a 864 for 4 games and had 289 for one of his games which is his personal best. I am told that is good. Now if he can keep it up as he is bowling in Florida State Senior finals this weekend. So I will be a bowling widow. emoticon
Here is a picture of me Bill took tonight when we were at supper. i was trying to show him how to text and send texts and pictures. I look like pookies and hair is horrible.Hair will all be chopped off tomorrow.

My grand daughter that is expecting left to go back to Texas today. I wished she had changed her mind. But she was bound and determined to move there. She is going to find out it is going to be harder than she thinks. But like most 20 year olds she knows everything.
Ok I need to work on my meds. I try to make up a couple of weeks at a time.
Stay warm and dry my friends. Thanks for all your support.

I walked the dogs this morning, starting at 9:30. It was cold to start (52 degrees), but I figured we would warm up. When we started back from Tampa Road, we were walking straight into the North Wind! It gave a new meaning to "wind chill". It was really, really cold.

Whenever I am down on the floor exercising, I have to shut the two dogs in the hall, or they would be all over me. They love the nearness....
Congratulations to Bill. When my Dad was alive, he was on a bowling league and was always one of the best. He absolutely loved it.
Our cold spell continues. Tonight it is supposed to go back to minus 10 degrees. Your weather sounds so much better!!!

I think you look mahvelous....I love your face. Usually in the winter, I'm a basketball widow, but not this week. Lots of people will be keeping the couch warm and give the cats laps to sit on.

Sorry about your weather...(not really) wish we had it! It did get up to 40 this afternoon. It is 32 now and supposed to get down to about 20 overnight. It was 13 at 3AM this morning. And that is not cold by some places! However, in your defense, I will say when you aren't used to it, your weather is cold! emoticon

Just joking!
Sorry Roxie didn't have her sun!!! We did have sun.
Love the picture...you look beautiful...
Why can't our grandchildren (and children) listen to our advice? Did we listen to our parents?
I don't think I did as much as I should have! All we can do is pray they make the right choices.
Hope you have a good night!!! Love ya, friend!

A Better Day

Thursday, January 20, 2011

I went and ordered the med today and Bill picked it up. That weasel I talked to yesterday said it would be $65. It was only $10. They have manage to eliminate my mail order script somehow. But that is no biggie.I will just get a new script for that. I have had so much trouble with local drug stores thru the years.
I did not sleep so great last night because i couldn't shut my brain off. Tonight should be much better.
I think the more I work on stress management the better I can cope with losing weight.
I have been ok with eating and slowing increasing my chair exercises. I did 35 minutes today.
Bill met me at nail place when he got off work. After I got my nails done we went to The Lucky Dill. I had the lamb shank and it was delicious.
Ok nothing new.I need to go see what I need to record tonight.
I flipped back and forth between Live to Dance and American Idol last night til Criminal Minds came on. Oops also have to try to figure out my supper calories.
Talk at you tomorrow. emoticon

I love your nails. Like Sunny, I do my own. I could NEVER keep them looking as nice as yours do.........too much gardening and other chores that would ruin them.
It is so cold up here right now, that I have a space heater aimed toward me and the computer so that neither one of us freezes up!!!!!
Have a good weekend. emoticon

That one nail is awful fancy. I discovered that I can eat a half portion and be just as happy if I have a full one. The trick for me is to not get it on the plate. I had a half order of oatmeal (75 cal instead of 150) and a half once of raisins (40 calories instead of 120) for breakfast, and it was enough to satisfy me until lunch. I don't know what I will have then, but I eat when I'm not hungry a lot of times.

Wednesday

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Well my day was going good til I had to deal with a local Walgreens. Somehow I didn't order a very important heart med.I use the mail order and get 3 months at a time at a very great price. I called the local to see if I could fill it locally one time. Some kid checked and told me no.I could get it filled but it would be full price. Their price for 1 month will get me 6 months by mail.More proof of how much people who don't have insurance are being ripped off. So I called the mail order to go ahead and put the order in and cross my fingers that it comes in time. Well !!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever the idiot did messed everything up.Somehow he transferred my script somewhere and now I can't get it.So I have to get my doc's office to fax a new script tomorrow.I am actually going to have to get a 1 month script to use here and another for 3 months to send in. i am just beside myself. And when I called the local place back she told me there was no male tech working there.Well someone pretended to be one.
It is so hard to keep up with all the meds I take that I don't need someone screwing it up.GRRRRRRR
Ok I did great with calories etc yesterday.Today I exercised and tracked all calories. I have eaten more at this time than yesterday but still ok.
Well I need to go chill.I just snapped poor Bills head off. Shame on me.
It will be better tomorrow.

I had a medical "STUFF" day like yours last Monday!!!!! It drives me crazy!!!!! With all of our information on computer now, you would think that things would go smooth, BUT........... Sandy has a great suggestion with automatic re-ordering. That way, you never run out and don't have to re-order yourself. I would check on it.

And.........tell Sunny that my husband and I will pick her up on our way to your house tomorrow. Are you ready for 3 adults and 2 dogs for the weekend???

We use mail order as well for maintenance drugs. It is much cheaper. I had an issue with WalGreens last night too! Usually they're really good but not yesterday. I was in pain and I snapped at Jason as well. Full moon???? I went to the ER for my arm pain and left at 5:50PM. They said they were going to call my pain med in. I figured it would be quick because they weren't busy. We called WalGreens 4 times in 2 hours to see if it was ready but WalGreens hadn't received it yet. After 2 hours and much pain, I called the ER. They told me they faxed it in a while ago. The nurse called WalGreens and they told her they just filled it. Get this, Jason went to pick it up, and it wasn't even ready!!! They're lucky Jason went instead of me. I know I would've snapped.

Since you'll be getting a 1 month supply and another 3 months from mail order, maybe you can save some as a cushion so to speak in case you don't order it in time again.

Sunny Warm day

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Today has been beautiful. It got so warm in house I had to turn the AC on.Sorry guys.I know a lot of you are freezing.
Since I only made enough soup for a few days it was soup making day. Now I have plenty for the next week. I have been having it for breakfast, lunch and sometimes as a night snack. I have been using my immersion blender and I turn it into a thick broth soup instead of chunks of veggies. Keeps the calories down as I don't add anything but a small amount of broth to it.When I have the bag as is I always add a few more veggies. This time each bag is only 87 calories.Very filling meal or snack.
I did 15 minutes of exercises plus some wall push ups. I have been doing good on everything so far for several days. I think as long as I can contain the stress and anger at some of my children I will stay on track. I am working at it.
Roxie ate straight yogurt today .I did sprinkle a little cinnamon in her breakfast.
Oh i do have a story to tell on Bill.
When he came home last night after supper we decided to run over to Angels as I forgot to send her dog food to her. So we are out on the highway and Bill mentions that it was good I had him stop at Publix on his way home as he had forgot to return the tapes we got. A bell went off in my head.I asked him if he had gotten my popsicles and were they in house. I can't repeat what he said.He forgot about them and they had already been in his van for almost 2 hours. When we got home we thought they would be melted but funny thing is they weren't, I was amazed but they were fine. That is longest he forgot he had stuff in van.
That was my entertainment of the night.LOL

OK I am going to go eat some more soup and see whats on TV tonight. Stay warm

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I'm jealous, it has been cold here, we even got alittle snow last night. I make soups also each week, I made potato which is too starchy for weight loss. Today, I'm making minestrone soup. I had a good week this week and yesterday went off without a hitch. I'm feeling great today. I'm back on my herbalife shake in the morning. That's a fuuny story about Bill leaving the popsicles in the van, I can top that one. I've left ground beef in my trunk. I of course didn't know about it until it started stinking and after searching, I found the culprit. I haven't done that one since. Talk to you soon,

Air conditioning, are you serious? It was 17 degrees (I have no idea what the windchill was) when I left the house this morning.

I can't believe the popsicles were still frozen. That's crazy!!

Soup for breakfast, huh? I'm one of those people that has to eat breakfast food in the morning. Jason can eat a hamburger for breakfast and it turns my tummy.

I haven't been able to exercise because something weird is happening with my arm. The doctor gave me muscle relaxers to take at bed time and vicodin, and neither one work. I'm in such pain I've been crying off and on the last few days.

Rainy Monday

Monday, January 17, 2011

It was so dark and rainy this morning I just stayed in bed til 10.Had no where to go and I could.
Brianna and her boyfriend Michael finally came and boxed up all the Christmas stuff. They also carried all the plants back outside. And moved the desk and cabinet that was in the art room to the sewing room and the book cabinet in living room out to art room.

The cabinet was where the chair is now.Makes living room look more open.
I almost fell in kitchen tonight.I am sure I will be sore tomorrow. I grab refrigerator door and sink.Hit my ribs on sink and my leg hit stool leg I knocked over Grabbing also hurt my shoulder more. So I will be full of black and blue marks tomorrow. I am just glad I didn't hit the floor.
My friend Royal was talking about an onion sandwich so I had to give it a try.So I had one with my soup.It was good. Will eat it again.
Have been doing good with eating. The relaxation/healing tape my friend made seems to be helping me relax and not stress out too bad with kids. I can over eat all by myself without letting stress drive me to binge.
I used my new grill tonight and it works great.
Ok nothing much going on.
Roxy wouldn't eat her yogurt tonight.Just a few licks of it.
Ok hope you all are having a good week so far.

Everyone is glad you didn't fall - it's a hazard for older people. One nurse asked me "When was the last time you fell?" and I told her that I never had fallen. They assume that you are going to fall just because you're no a kid any more, and people really do get hurt that way.

I hope that you are not too sore today and very grateful that you did not fall. Hang in there and do be careful.

A woman I worked with years ago would eat onion/banana pepper sandwiches.
I think they would be good in the spring when we can get the Vadalia Onions. Did you put mayo or mustard on it?

Mix Roxy's yogurt and cinnamon with a cup of cooked oatmeal. My Dog loves Oatmeal.

Take care and do have a wonderful day. Have you been drawing?
