Altho I wasn't feeling so great last night I seem to be a little better.Feel well enough i have supper started.First time I have cooked in days. Bill has been cooking so it will be no surprise if I have a gain at end of week. The chicken noodle soup has given me some water gain.
I did re-injure my groin tho. That really hurts.A hot shower helped a little.I tried an ice pack but it didn't help.I will use my heatingpad later.I went to let Roxy out back door and I step wrong and I could feel lotsa pain in groin.Oh well it will takes a few more weeks for it to heal.
My Daughter Angel has been suffering with an abscessed tooth for almost 2 weeks. Finally got it pulled yesterday. She is in pain today and Brianna is real sick too.Angel never gets a break.
Well Miss Roxy is showing her pain in the butt side. emoticonIt is like having a 2 year old in the house. If she gets out of sight she is into something. We don't have much that she can get into. I keep bedroom door closed and kitchen is blocked off.Like I said it is like having a kid around. She can be Bill's headache in a few minutes. He is the fun one so she gets super excited when he comes home.
Well I better go check supper. It is all in oven except for fresh green beans in steamer. I tried something new tonight.I threw some onion, potatoes, pork chops, spices in my iron skillet. Then I had an almost full jar of pasta sauce so I dumped that all over it.Covered in foil and popped in oven. If it is a bust we still have baked cauliflower and fresh green beans.
Ok Hope you had a good day. My weight loss efforts have been on the back burner but will move it forward tomorrow. emoticon emoticon

OOO, I hope your groin feels better. Poor Angel has had it rough the past few months. I hope she's feeling better today.

Having a pet is just like having a child. My Carter still gets into mischief occasionally and he's 6 years old.

How did your dinner turn out? Sounded like it would be yummy. I don't experiment too often because I don't want to waste time if it's not edible. And, if it's not edible, then it's off to McDonald's for dinner.

Sounds like you do have a two year old in your house! They can be trying at times, but then they turn those big adoring eyes on you and your heart just melts. I guess they are worth the trouble. Just be careful that she doesn't trip you or cause you to fall. I really miss not having a dog!
Glad you are feeling better. Your dinner sounds interesting. Let us know who it turned out. Sounds so simple. I love my cast iron skillets.

Having a variety of toys will help... if you can handle having toys all over the house! Some of my faves - Nylabone Durables (for chewing) and Orbee Planet Earth Balls (for playing ball/fetch/chomping) and different types of "fuzzy" things - some with rope elements/some with squeakers. Dogs are about on par with 2-3 year old toddlers... so they do need lots of stimulation and attention! My favorite "dog store" on the web is dog.com - great prices on the Nylabones and Orbees.

Your dinner sounds good - bet it was! emoticon

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I made a pot of chicken noodle soup Sunday, it turned out good, low in sodium but still tasty. I won't chat long because husband is in hospital. Doctor put him in yesterday for a serious breathing issue. We think it's heart related. They did a few tests to check out the lungs which are ok. They put a catheter in and gave him lasix to release alot of urine since he was so bloated. I'll go over there soon and hope to know more, will keep you posted. Take care of yourself, how did you injure your groin? I didn't lose any weight this week but I didn't gain either which is a win in my book. I'm going to sign off for now, I'll let you know more when I know more. Behave yourself Roxie! emoticon

Have spent most of day in bed.Have had lots of chicken noodle soup and very cold drinks. Feel a little better but once it gets dark I will probably start feeler worse. I am so thankful it is staying mostly in throat. It would be very serious for me if it went to my lungs. It looks nice outside altho on the chilly side for us. We did turn heat on a little but didn't need it long.
Thank you for all the get well goodies and posts. Please forgive me if I don't respond this time.I do appreciate it.
I am so disappointed to not be able to meet my spark friend from Hawaii Dee. I just don't feel well enough to go anywhere. That really sucks. She won't be back until 2013. That is way too way ahead for me to plan but I will see her for sure if i am still around.
Well my dear friends I will talk to you tomorrow.
Oh Roxy decided she likes my shoes. She chewed the back strap almost in half. MMMMM I was not happy. Bill took her to a dog park and let her run around. No other dogs but she had a ball. She has deserted me today and is his shadow. She even took nap next to the couch where he was napping instead of her bed in bedroom when I layed down. She is laying at his feet in living room now instead of out here with me.two faced little booger. emoticon

I am so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. I hope that you recover soon and that it stays ONLY in your throat.
Don't worry about Roxy's new loyalty to Bill. This changes based on who feeds her last or who plays with her last. At least that's the way it is with our dogs. She probably knows NOT to get too close to you after chewing your shoe strap. It's temporary.....
Take care........ emoticon

I started getting a sore throat last night and ofcourse my this morning it was really sore.So far it is staying in throat and not spreading to my lungs. So I am not feeling so good.
Bill took Roxy for her well care check up.The vet said she was a very smart and healthy dog.He said she was already bonding well as he could see she was crazy about Bill. He also said she has had at least one litter of pups. She made friends with all the people at vets.Vet did say he thought she has had some kind of dramatic issue of some kind.
She loves to ride. She got to ride twice today.I had to take Bill to get his van that was at shop and she went with us. I can see now that Bill will be taking her with him a lot.
Well I really don't have much to say and I don't feel well.A friend of mine is going to doggie sit when we go to Bill's bowling in Ft Myers. She is coming by next week to meet Roxy.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I'm sorry you don't feel well and that you can't go see your friend, that sucks. Yes, keep eating the chicken noodle soup and lots of cold liquid. You do have to be so careful. My husband not feeling better, we're going back to doctors this coming week. I want to get a dog for us too, I think it will be very therapeutic for him and it would be good for the dog since husband is here all the time so it would be good companionship for both. He's always said he loves goldens so that may be the one. I'll start searching. Did you make soup yourself or is it canned or dried like Lipton? My father always loved the Lipton soup, I always keep it on had for when we get sick and just don't feel like making it. Good news about Roxy from the vet. He's finally got himself a good home, I hate to hear when animals are abused, they are like children, they depend on us to give them the love they need. Well, anyway, get plenty of rest and talk to you soon, take care of yourself.

Rainy day in Florida

Thursday, November 04, 2010

Dark, rainy and dreary outside.Good sleeping weather. And I will go take a nap after i write this. I was too tired when we got home to post last night.
My youngest daughter brought two of her kids over to see Roxy and then Angel and Brianna came to do their weekly clean. So Roxy was having a ball.I couldn't get them still long enough for a good picture.

Had to chase everybody out so we could get ready for Orchid show.
Altho it was tiring as I rarely go anywhere in the evening it was nice. There were some beautiful orchids. Everyone wanted to know how I got such a great orchid. I felt bad saying i mostly ignored it.watered it only maybe once a month and had potting soil mixed in with the orchid chips and don't feed it..all the things people don't normally do.
I tied for 1st place with 9 votes and missed Best of show by 2 votes.I had 38 and the other one got 40. My picture doesn't do his justice. Each bloom was almost as big as my hand.
here is best of show, then mine and then 2nd place which was small but beautiful

The one on right is the winner

There were many pretty ones.here are a few of the others

Hope you enjoy the pics.
Now I am going to go get a nap.
