I am so far off the wagon i am chasing it to get back on track. I was doing so much better but not the last few days.
Roxy is wearing me out and she is good.I am not use to having a pet. If i go anywhere in house she is right there. She loves to sleep in her crate out here but she can be sound asleep and I might get as far as living room and she is right behind me. When I took my afternoon nap she was in her bed in there and stayed til I got up. She usually is very calm up to a point with me.But she got so excited earlier the little booger came flying from bedroom and took a flying leap and shot into my lap.She is not a lap dog.She just wants to be,Almost knocked me out of chair. First time she did that. I am ready for Bill to get home and maybe she will follow him around.
Our temps are suppose to get cooler but my AC doesn't see it.It was almost 75 earlier on patio on a cloudy day. Seems so strange that some of you are freezing and I am sweating.
So far I hate my new perm.It looks and feels yucko. It is too long on the sides. And the smell is still there.i will be able to shampoo it tomorrow and i am looking forward to that.
Tomorrow we are taking my big orchid to an orchid club that a friend belongs to, Should be interesting. Some of blooms did fall of but still a lot left.I was afraid they would all fall off.
Well I am going to go get a shower.I smell like dog. Bill is getting groceries as I am just too tired.
Hope you had a good day.Mine has been ok.I am just tired lately.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
Beautiful and gorgeous pics! You have such a gift with everything you do. Roxy looks so happy as do the kids. My husband rarely can go anywhere at night anymore either which saddens me but I continue to adjust. It rained all day here. My friend and I went into the city. I had to drop off some paperwork with the dept of education (that's who pays me with the little business I have) and then we went to Lexington Market which has stalls that sell everything from fresh produce to hot and cold food, very delicious looking food. Anyway, we were good and behaved ourselves, we got salmon for lunch which I'm proud of myself for. It was very delicious. After that, I had to get my yearly mammogram which was painless and very fast. I was in and out in 20 min., unbelieveable. I'm back home and will put a turkey meatloaf in the oven for dinner. Have a nice evening.

While reading about Roxie I was thinking, "'I am going to get a puppy!" there so cute and cuddly. But, you killed that thought when you said you need to shower as you smell like dog. And then I remember years ago when I had a dog. It's true and a lot of work. Then I read on and you said your hair still smell like perm. Not, I am thinking you have a really good sense of smell. I looked for a close-pin icon and go figure there are none so figured some fresh air and sun would help. I know your enjoy your new haircut.

I ate like a piggy last night. I don't know why but hope I will do better today. Most dogs want to be lap dogs. My friend has an australian cattle dog and a golden retriever and they are always trying to get in my lap. Hope you get to feeling more awake.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I am enjoying no company, neighbor stopped over last nite for a few minutes to talk about the election. The dog will be something to get used to; a new member of the family. It sounds like you'll have to break him of wanting to be a lap dog but I don't know how to do that, a question for the vet. I'm back to at least counting calories of what I'm eating, I stayed within range yesterday. Husband seems alittle better, still wanting for medication to do it's thing. I fixed spaghetti squash for the first time but I'll have to say, I wasn't all that impressed. The squash strands just were not soft enough even though I baked the thing for an hour before I pulled the strands out. I put spaghetti sauce on it, it was ok but nothing to brag about. That's about it, I think I'll do chicken tonite, sounds easy enough. Talk to you soon, you'll get focused again, sometimes it takes alittle while..I hate perms too, I stopped getting them because it took so long for me to like it.. emoticon emoticon

Roxy is sure active, I guess at least she will keep you young and keep you on your toes! I love puppies. Our little dog used to fly around our house like a rocket when he was a puppy; thank God he is calm now that he is not a puppy anymore. I hate the new perm smell, too. I used to get perms all the time, but haven't had one in ten years or so. Now my hair is shoulder length and I use a flat iron. Good luck on showing the orchid; I think orchids are so beautiful.

Sorry your perm is smelly, I hate that. They have something now that they rinse your hair with after perms and you don't have that smell. Don't know what it is, but my beautician uses it all the time.
Sounds like Roxey is a live wire. Just don't let her trip you. Was she a rescue dog? That may be why she stays so close to you. However, our poodle that we lost last year, thought she was an extension of us. Had to be right with us all the time.
Hope you soon get your eating under control, that is the pits! I just finally got mine back in control! So there is hope!!!

You'll need to be strong and put your hand up with the your palm toward her if she comes running at you again and tell her NO. If possible - bend your knee toward her so it bumps her in the chest as she jumps up. After of few times of bumping into your knee and you saying no - she will stop jumping up on you. Good luck with her training. It sounds like she has come to love you already - but needs to know who is the boss - You!

Roxy loves you already! Our dogs tend to get under foot at times too. I have trained both dogs to move out of the way when they see me coming, which comes in handy with the baby. Our dogs sleep in their crates as well, with the door open.

I hate the smell of perm. I used to get perms all the time. My hair was straight. After having Sam my hair stayed curly and now I wish I had my straight hair back.

I can't imagine smelling like perm and dog. ICK! emoticon

Having a dog will take a bit of getting used to. I have a 3 1/2 lb Chihuahua and she is constantly with me, she thinks I'm her Momma...lol. So small though, I almost trip over her so I have to look down a lot.
Your dog, like mine, is showing affection and loves you.
I had missed many of your blogs, do you have one showing the big orchid?

Do you have a new dog? It looks as if the big one is in a cage and the little one is out. Adrienne is now hooked on the idea of two dogs, but we always had an only dog and an only cat until we hit the road, and it worked out just fine.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
What a little sweetheart, Roxy does suit her better, I love the name. She seems so precious. I can see she will give you so much pleasure. We went out and voted today. I went to doctor with husband yesterday. My husband described the terrible breathing problems he's been having. After doctor listened to everything and listened to his breathing, he said he has plueritis which is inflammation of the plural which lining of the lung. So he gave my husband an anti-inflammatory to take twice a day. My husband thought he would feel completely better today but the doctor said it would take about 7 days for him to start feeling much better so cross your fingers for us. Our company left this morning which is nice, we have the house to ourselves again. We had extra people for dinner last night so I made spaghetti with ground turkey, they all loved it and didn't know it was ground turkey. Well gotta go, bye Roxy, see you later, I gained 2 pounds this week which I knew I would because I was bad but I'm back on the program again so today is a new day.

Say Hello to Cuddles

Sunday, October 31, 2010

We went back and adopted one of the dogs we looked at yesterday. She is so loving and gentle with me.We took her into petmart and she was so good and everyone loved her.Like all kids she did embarrass us by taking a little poop. They said it happens alot .Dogs smell other dogs. But we have everything for her now.She is almost perfect. She is tuckered out right now and is laying right next to me out here. She loved riding in the car and is great on a lease. She is only 1 year old but shouldn't get much bigger. She isn't only one tuckered out i am whopped. We are bot so happy with her.She seems to know right away that she has to be easier with me. She is just a great dog.She loves to be petted so we may kee= her name Cuddles as it fits. It has been expensive and she still has to get a wellness check at vets.SPCA requires our vet to fill out paperwork that we took her in. Ok Here is our new member of the family. Will seem strange as only pet we have had was a cat we had for 16 years.

She is so funny. She keeps jumping in Bills lap. She thinks she is a lap dog.
We are very pleased with her so far. Will see what the coming does are like. But she is off to a great start

I know my dog a Cocker Spaniel does keep me company and he is 14 years old so he is a senior and needs extra care but that is okay we got him when he was 6 weeks old so he has been a member of our family for 14 years, you will get attached you know they have a way of making that happen.

Saturday

Saturday, October 30, 2010

Another busy day.But not so stressful.Bill and I have both stressed out more than usual dealing with my daughter Joy.I told her she needed to keep her dog that we would find our own.She will regret it but too late now.
We went to a shelter yesterday and saw maybe.A very weak maybe.
Today we had to go back to T-Mobile to straighten out Bills phone. Then we went to a small shelter not far from here.I didn't go in.Bill did and it was awful.Only had a few dogs and place was dirty and smelled awful. Then we headed north of here to the Pasco county SPCA.What a fabulous place. I wasn't going to go at first as their adoption fees are high. But since we went there I am happy to pay it.What a wonderful place for the animals. All animals were in AC and were very clean . Both the animals and their cages. Their were several we kinda liked.I found a small one that I really like but Bill doesn't. He weighs around 15# and one Bill liked one that is around 45. I like the bigger one too. They are getting a few more in tomorrow so we are going back to look.
This was such a great place. They had a separate building just for the cats.It was even nicer than the dogs. All glass enclosed ac large rooms with lots of beds and cat climbing things. They had a calico that was hard for me to not get.I have been looking for one. But we were just so impressed with everything about the place both inside and out.
Hopefully my days will begin to be more calm.
Our neighborhood will be full of kids tomorrow, from infants to 6 foot teenagers.I have never minded the teenagers.I think it is awful that some cities are making it illegal for teens to trick or treat. They are having harmless fun.I have had many teenagers come to my door and they have always been very polite and well mannered.Even the ones that towered over me.They are no worse than the infants that come with parents. You know the candy is for the parents. Ok I will get off my soap box.
I am not doing good on weight loss but good on other stuff so maybe weight will follow.
Ok I am so far behind in all my sparking. Please forgive me if I don't get back to everyone.I so appreciate you reading my blogs. But if I get behind I can't seem to catch up.
Have a wonderful Halloween and watch out for the goblins emoticon emoticon

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
Welcome Cuddles! He seems to have taken to both of you just fine..I wish you many happy years with him. My husband's cousin is staying with us for a few days. My sons were over yesterday so we all went to dinner which was very nice except they didn't have a table available for six so we had to sit separated which I wasn't happy with but we made it work. Later on the trick or treaters came by. It is always nice seeing the little ones dressed up. I'm going with husband to doctor today. He hasn't been breathing well lately so I guess that's about it. Talk to you later, take care, By the way, I haven't been good on diet either, I'm bad, I'm not counting what I'm eating so I probably have a gain this week. I know what I have to do, I just don't feel like doing it, being lazy..Margaret

I think it's great you're adopting. I won't adopt a dog again unless it's a puppy though since we have young children. Duke still growls at Alex but so far is OK with Addison. We'll see. We also adopted our cat 10+ years ago. Sam wants to volunteer at the humane society here in town. I think it's great.

Sam is going trick-or-treating this year and she's 15. She's going with a group of friends. They're all dressing up as somebody from Alice in Wonderland. She hasn't gone the past 3 years. She's handed out candy for us while we take Alex. Alex is going this year and I planned on taking Addison out in the stroller with him (not collect candy however) but it's only supposed to be 48 degrees. Maybe Addison and I will stay home and hand out candy while Jason & Alex go out. I have so much candy and if I go out nobody will be home to hand it out. You know what that means....If I have leftovers somebody has to eat it.

Haaaahahahahaaa! I laughed out loud when I read Soup Box! Almost every dog we've had is a shelter dog from the Humane Society or the SPCA. It's wonderful to support them. There is always an adorable puppy to find!

Have a happy Halloween. We were on the neighborhood's bad list because of my lead foot drivers of the house, but I think all that is passed and we are ready to see some cute costumes tomorrow. I'm ignoring the dumb dentists' television pleas to ruin the night by offering cash for bags of candy. We think the kids on our street are looking for the sugar and not the dough.

We have the Fav 5 but we have way too many minutes.I am hoping to decrease that and get text without a big increase in bill.
As far as I know we are still getting Joy's dog . I am not as sure now that I want it.Any more drama of any kind and I will tell her to keep it. This should be a happy thing but she never sees the positive of anything. What a terrible way to live.
I did do my exercises this morning but only a short one.
I had a bag of green and yellow beans that needed to b cooked. So I have them in the steamer. I will either snack on them or maybe freeze them for later.
I am very frustrated with my weight. I am doing better in many areas so hopefully I will get the weight going down again.
In the meantime I will not give up nor beat myself up.Life is hard enough for me as it is. I can do this. emoticon
Ok Bill called and he is finished bowling. So I better get my shower and get dressed. I still have to clean up the mess i made in kitchen.
Hope you are all having a good day

Nice that you got an exercise in...sometimes I have good intentions and then it gets lost down the road when there is a lot going on. You seem to have a bit going on. Good luck on getting your new phone. There is so much to choose from. I don't text. Between big fingers and not have good eyes anymore, my texting would not make sense... emoticonHope you have a nice time at the mall and that you have a great weekend! emoticon emoticon

Don't let Joy control how you react. She'll come around and hopefully things will work out for the best. Good luck with the cell phone and I hope you get your dog soon.

I don't know what I would do without my text messaging. Sam & I text all the time. In 5 days we've already sent & received 1,326 text messages for 3 phones.

It's been so long since I've had yellow beans. I don't see them fresh around here and I've never seen them frozen. Yummy snack.

I hope Joy can work through things and realize the dog is better off with you.

Have a great evening.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I hope you just get the dog soon and that's the end of it. I sort of feel sorry for people that only see the negative in everything, you know they can't be happy. We know we have to make our own happiness, you can't count on people to give it to you but animals will. Anyway, I don't make potato soup often so it's a treat for me too. The bean I made my husband turned out real good, he'll enjoy that. I did what you said, I'm writing to my teams again and I put a few Halloween pics on my spark page. I just need a hard kick in the butt right now to get me out of this mood and rut I'm in. I'm going to go watch my one nephew play football tonite, he was featured in their community newspaper as being such an important player on the team. They say he is like a coach as he is just so smart in calling the plays. Cameron is a senior and the school says they would love to hire him as a coach in 4 years, that's how long they have to wait to hire a prior student. He said he's not sure if he'll play football in college because he needs to concentrate on studies but may be interested in coaching the team after college. He's a really cool kid. Talk to you soon,

I think that you are doing a great job!!! Think back to a year ago and I am sure that you have improved in many areas.
I wish that there were more positives re: getting your dog. You are so right.......it should be a good experience.
I hope you have a good weekend. Happy Halloween..... emoticon

Lots of malls have trick or treaters, so maybe you'll get to see cute costumes.
Hope you have fun. Better you than me!

I have gone from 3 phones on my plan down to one. DH never used his so why pay for service on a phone that just sits on the charger and our Soldier Boy got his own plan (service available in Hawaii). There is going to be a huge difference in my bill soon. YEA!

Have fun at the mall.

Sunny

I am trying very hard to have a good attitude. Life is hard enough without us making it worse on ourselves. There will be set backs but moving forward is the main thing. I weigh less than I did last year at this time. I am more active than I was a year ago, and the list goes on. emoticon

Have a great weekend.
