I have been tired most of the day.Partly from taking an extra diuretic yesterday and all of my daughters drama. At least she seems to have calmed down today. i was starting to lose my patience.
I took a short nap and I feel better now. Trying to catch up with my spark and emails. I did do my exercises this morning.I did all of the newer dvd that I did part of yesterday.I got the dvd a long time ago and never used it. I am glad i kept it when i gave a bunch of the exercise tapes away. The lady i sent them to it the lady Pat that recently died. I hope her husband finds someone who can use them and doesn't throw them away.
I wish I had time to be more active on all the few teams I belong to but it is hard.I am doing several challenges now. 3 on the CHAIR EXERCISE TEAM
and the my 100 Plus Club And then all my spark pals. Oh well I just do what I can.
I am suppose to take my huge orchid to an orchid show next Wed and the blooms are starting to fall.I am hoping I still have a lot left. The ones on back side are just blooming so they will still be there. It will still be a grand looking fellow.
The butterflies seem to have slowed down but I did have this visitor yesterday

And my grand daughter Brianna came to do some housework for me.She even planted my coneflowers in the pots Bill had ready. She is wearing her Senior shirt. She was just voted Senior historian so she gets to use her camera. I will also post a picture she took that I trimmed up some but she did a good job.I may have already shown you but here it is again

Ok Bill will be here shortly so i will go. My exercising and sparking is going good but controlling calories not so good. But i will get there.I am not going to give up. Oops here is my sweetie.have a good night

It has been a quiet day. Not sure what is going to happen with dog.So much drama with my daughter. We have given her a week and a half. Then we will look for a dog somewhere else. We don't need all this stuff when we are the good guys.

I made a big pot of soup beans and they turned out good. I sent 2 quarts home with Brianna for her Mom and froze a quart to give her next week.Poor thing has been suffering with a toothache for days.Hopefully she will get it pulled tomorrow.
Bill doesn't eat them and I made them so Angel would help me eat them.

I did get my exercises done this morning.Tried a different dvd for a change. The exercising is at least one thing I have been doing good.
The eating still isn't under control but I am working on it.
Well I am somewhat tired so I will talk to you all tomorrow.Hope you had a good day

Must be in the air as I fixed a pot of bean soup yesterday too and a pan of corn bread to go with it.

Sorry about the drama over the dog. My understanding is that you were taking the dog to help your daughter out. If it is what you really want, I hope it works out for you.

Have a GREAT day. I am off to the beauty shop for a trim and then run to Sams.

Take care.

Have you and Bill thought of going to the spca and rescuing a smaller dag? Know you would fall in love when they look you in the eye and a smaller dog will just steel your heart and be a great companion when Bill is not home. Better than any alarm system. That would end the drama, well for this round, Just a thought.

I hope everything works out with the dog. If she has to get rid of it you two are the best option. She should have comfort in knowing the dog is going to a great home. Best of luck!

Soup sounds yummy on a day like today. I'm not a big soup maker. I think making the broth is so much work.

Mixing up your exercise DVD's is a good idea. You won't get bored that way. I need to start using the Wii again.

Trying to blog early today. Not expecting anything exciting to happen.
We made the decision to take the dog. I was starting to get cold feet later in the evening. But i checked some web sites on Pit terrier and i am fine now. i think it is more just the idea of a pet to have to take care of. Now we don't have vets, food etc to bother with.We can go anywhere and not have to find somewhere for the dog.It will mean a lot of changes. But i think there will be more pluses.Bill has always wanted a dog. I can't walk it but can let it out into back yard if he needs to go out. Biggest problem right now is daughter wanting to share ownership. Not going to happen.I told her when we pick him up he is ours. She is suppose to get his records from her vet and have him change the name on the chip. He will get much better care from us. I need to call the vet and find out if we should have him fixed or not.
Ok I just called our old vet and talked to one of his techs.Very sweet young lady who happens to own a pit terrier. She said her sister also has one. She said if we have him neutered he will not tend to be as aggressive. She recommended that we take him to dog part and places like pet mart so he gets use to being around other people etc instead of just us two. makes sense to me.Bill is looking forward to taking him to dog park. So now I feel even better after talking to her. In fact I am looking forward to getting him.
I got extra exercises done today. Also cleared out some extra dishes in cabinet so it is so full of dishes we don't use.
I did stay in my calories range but just barely last night. I have to get to lower end of my range consistently in order to lose.Still have a lot of extra fluid. i need to take extra diuretic but I wait as long as I can as I already take a lot.
The weather here is awesome. So beautiful. It is great living in Florida
Hope you are all having a good day

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
I'm glad the drama has calmed down at least for a day, we do need breathers in between. I'm going to my son's Halloween party at his day program today which is always fun to be with him and the other special people. I got a couple boys in the neighborhood to help me put the Halloween decorations up, they really did a good job. I'll take take a picture and send you. This is something my husband always loved to do but no more. I always did the inside stuff and he did all the physical, outside work. Now, it's all he can do to take care of himself :(. We had vegetable soup I made earlier in the week last night with sandwiches, I had tuna and he had ham and cheese. Today, I'm going to make potato soup, (my favorite) and we'll have that with something for dinner. I love the sunset, did your grandaughter take that one? Talk to you later, have a great day,

  Hi Eleni........
We have 2 dogs and love them more than most humans.......
I hope that you get as much enjoyment from your dog as we have. We have had dogs our entire married life and have never regretted it. It's difficult to find the kind of love a dog has for its human (note, I didn't say owner as I don't feel that a dog can be owned, just appreciated).
Let me know how it all goes.

Sounds like you are making progress getting closer to staying within your calorie range - that is great. Good job on the exercises. You're lucky the weather is so nice there. The weather here is weird. We're having nasty winds. This morning they clocked winds at 68 mph at our local airport. It rained for a bit this morning and it was coming down sideways. This nasty wind is supposed to last until tomorrow night. Oh, Florida sounds like a wonderful place to live!!!

+The weekend caught up to me today in many ways.I am tired and since we ate out too much I am having problem with fluid.
We talked about fact that we have been eating out too much so we are going to watch it and not do it so much.
Haven'[t got much done today. I did get extra chair exercises done. And I got all the grease off of the broth.Put 2 quarts in jars to use in my daily soups if i need extra broth and bagged a big gallon bag full for next time I make my soup. Putting it in fridge over night is great way to get rid of all the grease.
We are seriously thinking about getting a dog.My daughter Joy has one she needs to find a home for. I am leaving it up to Bill as he will have to walk it etc. If I am not comfortable around it we will have to find another home for it. Angel and Bill have both seen him and say he is a sweet dog. Joy sent these pics to my phone
Yes he is a pit but that doesn't bother me.After watching the show Pit Boss I have a different outlook on pits. My problem is just me.Since I am not as physical as I use to be I find myself being afraid of dogs sometimes. I will know soon what we will do as I have told Bill he has to make up his mind. He has always wanted a dog. I have never had a house dog before. Should be interesting.
Well I need to get supper prepped.Bill will be home soon. Hope your day was good. I am still not doing well with my eating but I am still trying to improve.
I did good on all my daily goals except staying in my calorie range. But It is a new week and I am hopeful

I think dogs tend to take on the personalities of their owners. I've met pits that are sweethearts..and it's true..their owners seem to be the same...calm cool and collected. I've also seen pits that are high strung and angry...but guess what..the owners seemed to exhibit those same personality traits.

I have no worries that your pit will be a sweetheart...between you and has no other role model. I'm excited for you both! emoticon

tough choice to make about the dog. We didn't have one for 10 years before I decided to get another one....small/non shedding/non allergic. Just remember they do shed so there is more to clean. You are fortunate you don't have snow. We will be dealing with that soon. It is really like having another child around. And you have to find someone to keep them while you go away. No more bowling weekends. Remind Bill of that. Its a lot to think about.

It's so easy to fall into the habit of eating out. We've been doing better about eating out, however our dinners still aren't the best. I'm hoping once I go back to work and get some sort of schedule it'll be easier to cook dinners.

Pit Bulls don't bother me. I believe they can be sweet dogs. It's all about how they were raised. I think it's a good idea to meet the dog and see how it reacts with you before you decide to take it home. Is your backyard fenced in? The dog is adorable. Why can't she keep it?

    CUTE emoticonPUP.
Hey you know Hubby wanted to take me out for my Birthday last Saturday and I told him no, I have not eaten out at a restaurant or a fast food place in over three years why start now.
I hope you feel better soon, the sodium in the food out in the eateries are way to high for everyone.
When the urge hits to pick up something out think of all the groceries that you have at home and your wonderful soups just waiting for you and maybe that will help to not eat out.
Good luck it is a hard habit to break because it is so easy to let others do the cooking.
Your strong and I know you can do it.
Maybe you could set that up as one of your goals to see how long you can go without eating out:) Have a good evening. Sandy

He looks like a cute dog - but I would be nervous with a pit around the grandchildren. All dogs are unpredictable - but pits are even more so.
I did pretty well today - 20 min. with the exercise ball and a one mile walk with the dog. I'm in my calorie range so far today - just need to keep it that way. I'll try follow my program one hour at a time.
Good luck with your eating program - good to hear that the exercise is going well! Try to get a good nights sleep!

One dog I do not trust. I use to work at a pet shelter and too many people with horror stories brought in their pit bulls. They need very strong owners who taught them who was master since they were born.
Eating out is what does me in when I am over my calories, usually.

Another busy day.It was grocery day. Finished making list this morning and then made sure I exercised before we left.I am doing badly with eating but good with exercising.
We went to a new place for lunch. It was a good lunch place with lots of good lunch choices.Did good there but home not so good.
We went to Michaels and I picked up some beads to make a necklace to hang my new medic alert dogtag.I will let you know how it turns out.I got some to make a bracelet too.
Then to grocery store.Getting groceries isn't so bad. It's when I get the stuff home. The same young man that made me lose the tomatoes almost made me lose the bag with the ground turkey.I caught it just in time.
Then it took me a long time to get everything put away and wrapped and bagged.I had put chicken thighs on Bill's list but forgot to tell him to not get them if the skin was on.So I had 2 huge packs of them that I had to pull all the skin off.I didn't waste it but made broth with it.Have it in fridge to cool until tomorrow and I can skim off the fat.It was a job to find space to put it.But I wrapped 20 chicken thighs and 8 ground turkey patties and cleaned and cut up some of veggies. My luck skinless boneless will be on sale next week.
I also bagged some nuts and cheetos in snack bags to portion out. It does take a couple of hours to get everything done but it is done for the week.
I made a seafood soup for me tonight.Fresh oysters with some cut potatoes and can of clams and some shrimp all cooked in chicken broth.Did not use milk as that would have pushed calories way up.
Time to kick back and watch TV.Will tape Housewives and brothers and sisters and will watch Masterpiece Theater. Ok Time to relax.Hope you all had a good weekend.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
Sorry I'm behind in my posts. The dog is very cute and looks like he needs you two. I'm glad you made the decision to take him. We want a dog too, just haven't acted on it yet. I think a dog will help my husband's depression and illness. He just never seems to have good days anymore. As for me, I'm doing fine, I lost almost a pound but at least no gains. I'd be happy to lose 20 more pounds and that would be my goal weight of 143 so we'll see. My diet class stresses eating more protein too, I'm supposed to take in 130 gms of protein a day for optimal nutrition. Well, I'm off to make a scarecrow for my porch for Halloween, talk to you later,

I hate the shopping more than the putting away. At least I feel I have accomplished something when I see everything taken care of and neatly put away. Great idea with the chicken skins. I'm afraid I'm more of a can broth type of girl. :) I'm finally getting serious about my program again. Taking it one day, one meal and one hour at a time. Hopefully I will not feel so overwhelmed if it is only an hour or a meal I goof up on. I'm sure you'll be back on track today with your eating. Congrats on your exercise though!     Putting away groceries is much worse than shopping itself. You do so much more prep work ahead of time than I do. I don't know how you have the patience for that. I would've gone crazy having to take the skins off the chicken thighs. I never buy chicken with skin unless I buy a whole chicken. I think it's great you & Bill split the grocery list. There are certain things that Jason is responsible for every time we go shopping but if I ask him to get something he doesn't normally get there is a good chance it will be the wrong kind or brand.

It's a good thing you exercised before going to the store otherwise you would've been too tired to afterwards!

Enjoy the TV shows tonight. The Packers/Viking football game is on at my house, which is why I'm on the computer.
