Busy Busy day

Saturday, October 23, 2010

I have lots of useless info to share and several pictures. And if for some reason I lose this when I finish.Rest assured this computer will be out in the back yard where I will throw it.
We will start with yesterday.Picked up two movies to watch. Karate Kid and Robin Hood
We made our trip to Wal-Mart and it was mostly successful. I could not find a single dress of any kind so that was a bust.
I did pick up another y-peeler for a friend or two. Also got new calculator for kitchen.Time for a new one.Bill found some nice light flannel shirts for cool weather when ever it gets here. I couldn't resist the candy corn but I haven't eaten any and have it all in portion bags for Bill to hide so they can be rationed out. I also pick up a couple of small plates and a small bowl for salads. I do like pretty plates. Here are two views.

here is a picture of the family bathroom.Yes I said bathroom. This is the kewlest one I have ever seen.Maybe you have seen one with a childs toilet but I hadn't.I just thought it was just a great idea.

And this is what I saw from the front step when we got home.Yes we were out after dark.Very rare for us.

Watched Karate Kid.Very good movie. We both enjoyed it.
And that takes care of yesterday.
Today has been honey do day etc. Here was the list I made
1 Get rest of yellow leaves off sunflower plant.Tired of looking at them thru window where I exercise. Brianna did a half way job on that the other day--Done by Bill today and was done right
2.Take floppy computer desk out of sewing room and replace with regular chair..Done
3.Bring all planters in for cemetery and put drain holes in them all. Done
4 Bag candy I did it and didn't eat any.
5 Bag Jonhson blueberry toast in baggies
6 Put up all the can stuff that was still in bag.
7 put yellow leaves off lei plant Bill doing right now
8. Get potting soil on back porch and get two pot ready and plant the coneflowers.
Potting soil is on patio but will do the potting tomorrow
9, Put up the 2nd knife rack that has been in a drawer for months. I had the bottom one and he put up the top one.Now my big knives are more secure.I love having my knives on it.You can see my measuring cups and spoons hanging under the cabinet

10.Get gift peeler ready to mail Done
11 Put magnet on new calculator for kitchen. Done and it is on fridge
12 Take planters to cemetery and silicone them and put flowers in them. partial done.Bill decided we should let silicone dry for a couple of days. Here is a before and after of Tony's minus flowers. The white thing on little cherub will be removed. And one of our stone. My camera batteries died and the ones I thought were good in purse were also not charged. so had to take after with phone camera.

End of list Whew
Before we went out there we went to Panera Bread for lunch. It has been in Tarpon for a few years and I have never been so we went. While I was looking for some good choices all of a sudden I realized they had the calories right beside the list. That was great. i had 1/2 roasted turkey sandwich and black bean soup which came out to around 400 cal.But they put a piece of that crispy bread and I had to check internet and it was 150 cal .Which pushed my lunch up to 550. I asked if they had a menu with the calories like what was o board. They didn't He said that was their new people friendly menu or something like that. But it was nice as it had calories for 1/2 and whole sandwiches. It was an expensive lunch but was very good and had lots of good choices. All the food on people's plates looked nice.
We came home and took a nap.Now we may watch the other tape before any regular programs come on if there are any .I have to look. So it has been a busy but productive day.And I did my exercises before I started anything.
So it is every man for himself tonight so i will fix my soup and salad.
Hope you are having a good weekend

I had to take a nap after reading your blog. You are a very busy lady!!!

I loved your dishes. If I had more storage space, I would be dangerous when it comes to buying more sets of dishes.

We watched Robin Hood last night. We had seen it in the theatre, but it was so good, that we rented it and watched again........this is the one with Russell Crowe.

I am making Split Pea Soup for supper and it smells so good.........Have a good Sunday.

WOW, that's some "Honey Do" list!! I should really put all my to-do's in a list. I just don't have the brain like I used to.

They have family bathrooms all over around here. They're really nice. When Alex was little he freaked out if he had to use a regular sized toilet when we were out, so the little toilets came in handy.

The picture of the moon is gorgeous!! I miss having a nice camera that can take those kind of pictures. One of these days I'll get to research cameras and get a new one. For now my little camera does what I need it to do.

I like what you guys did to Tony's headstone. It looks really nice.

Panera Bread is delicious! I like the You Pick 2. I used to get the bread bowl soup but stopped when I started my weight loss program. I haven't had it in a while even though we have in town. My favorite soup is the broccoli cheddar. YUM!!

Busy, busy!! Sounds like a great day and a lot accomplished!! I love the pretty plates - I love pretty china too - it sets off the food just that much better. Yours are wonderful for Autumn!!
Yep - we saw the full moon here too - at least that has to be the right way up - the other phases of the moon are upside down because we are in a different hemisphere!!

Busy day for you and DH. I know what you mean about the candy corn. I usually get the chocolate ended candy corn...I can't resist them with coffee. I like your choice of plates, nice fall colors. The bathroom looks huge! Mine are only half the size. I'd like to see Karate Kid too. Maybe when it comes out on DvD near us. I still have yet to see the movie RED. They say that it is funny good. Have a great weekend...If only my week would be as productive as your day today emoticon

My internet just changed the entire e-mail system to even log on I have to jump through hoops.
To get to my messages I even have to put in my Zip Code how stupid is that, then I get to the message list and I have to highlight the message for a drop down and then when I get to read the message I have to go back to the message list to delete the message and on the side bars the sender is cut in half so I could be opening a spam or a virus e-mail for all I know.
The the third screen on the page has my approved sender list why in the world do I need to see that every time I open my in box????
I think I would really be upset if it went down in the middle of this vent session!!!
See now don't you feel better I have more problems with my internet than you do:) Got to love the new fangeled things they come up with to frustrate old folks.
I wish you and Bill a wonderful weekend. Keep Smiling. Sandy emoticon

Bring the camera on your errands and be sure to stop at 7-11! It should be a quiet weekend here. We have a Halloween Fest tonight at Alex's school but that's the only time I need to leave the house. Jason has to take all 3 kids to his parents house on Sunday so I'm hoping to get a nap in.

This has been a do nothing day. Did not sleep well last night and feel like crap all day.
Eating was very bad last night and this morning,Think I have it under control now.
Anyway as I told Angel earlier in a text I really am not in a talking mood.
But will share a great picture of my grand daughter Felicia who is 20. I couldn't believe she put the costume on but it is very funny for her to do it. and then a bee and a lizard that were outside my window.

Ok it is 4 in the afternoon and I am still in my nightgown.Time for a shower and some clothes. Tomorrow must be a better day.

Today was strange day as since we got groceries last night I had to take care of veggies today.Got me out of sync. I am tired again today.I think I may need to take a couple extra potassium.
No 7-11 stories. He did have a chance to take a picture of hawk but he got out of his car first and then remembered camera. I had to remind him always grab camera first. But at least he is spotting stuff. The guy with him asked him how he saw it and he told him I had trained him. That I was always seeing stuff before him.
He is liking the Miss Julia book so i have plenty more of them for him.I have made a reader out of him.
I forgot to go over my daily goals for last week.

1.Exercise for 10 minutes This I did great at and most days did over 10
2.Lift hand weights for 2 reps of 12 This I slacked up on altho I do some lifting of hand weights with my exercises
3. Walk to bedroom and back often Also slacked on this some
4.Limit salt use This I am doing fantastic at
5.Stay in calorie range I am getting better at this but room for a lot of improvement. The night time is still messing me up
6. Use timer to eat slower when home I forgot a few times but use it most of the time
7. Huddle in all my teams I did miss a couple of days

So I still need a lot of improvement but I am working on it.

The finale of sister wives was on last night and altho I don't believe in polygamy I couldn't help but like the wives. Most men have enough problems trying to keep up with one wife. It takes a crazy man to have 4.
Ok i need to get supper in the oven. Hope you had a good day

Here is recipe for Dolmades for anyone that is interested. It is the one my sister gave me.
Fela or Dolmades
2 ½ # ground chuck
2 cans Delmonte Diced tomatoes (basil, garlic, oregano) chopped in food chopper
1 large onion (chopped in chopper)
1 cup uncooked white rice
4 teaspoons minced garlic( used minced garlic in jar)
4 teaspoons oregano

16oz jar of grape leaves.(Got Orlando California leaves from Acroplolis store inTarpon.) Need large leaves
2 ½ cans chicken broth.

Note Gently unwrap leaves and rinse.Cut off hard stem at end
Mix all ingredients at top. Then put about a tablespoon full in each leaf and roll up. Pack into pot.Leave at least 2” at top. Place a few leaves over all and place plate on top to hold fela in place.fill to top of leaves with chicken broth. Cover with lid and cook slow until tender. Aprox 2 or 3 hours.
I put mine in a crock pot on high. Cook until grape leaves are tender
I covered them in broth but I don’t think it needs that much.
Take them out of broth to serve

This made a lot.Too many for my crock pot.

This is a favorite Greek dish.It is like stuffed cabbage only grape leaves are used. It is an aquired taste, people either love them or not. I like them a lot.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,

I like dolmades too! If you like stuffed cabbage rolls, you'll like dolmades. Thanks for recipe. The little guy is so cute, is this at a pumpkin patch? Little ones truly make the world a better place. I'm glad Bill is finally feeling better. Did he get another antibiotic? I had the best breakfast last weekend. I was bad, I had creamed chipped beef on toast smothered with the chipped beef gravy and fried potatoes. Comfort food at it's best. We went to diner near us that has such good food. It's run by greeks so I'm sure I could get dolmades there too. It was delicious but I got right back on my diet for the most part. I don't want to gain all that weight back. I'm fitting into clothes I haven't worn in several years. Have a wonderful day,
