It is becoming very evident that it is going to take some time to get use to the c-pap machine.Right now I hate it with a passion. But I know I have to keep at it.I have been told it will take anywhere from 1 week to a month to get use to it. I only lasted 1 hour last night. But went a little over an hour at nap time. Hopefully each time will get better. But I did get a little sleep last night.
Did you just hear all those bad words coming out of my mouth. I just spilled a great big glass of diet root beer. Plus my stupid computer mouse just wants to do it's own thing. If I click one thing it brings up two.I go to delete a message and it deletes two. GRRRRRRR. I have moved speed both directions. And it takes several tries to get highlighting to workAnd if I try to put cursor in the middle of something it highlights everything.Frustrating.
Ok Back to c-pap. I will keep working with it as all of you say it will make a big difference and I am ready for that.
We went to WalMart today. Ofcourse I spent money. I wanted to get some stud earings to replace my heart ones since I have to put that mask on .I already have one missing. Bill just went back there and found it for me. Now have to get new ones in.The backs are tiny and my nails get in the way.
Wow It is pouring outside.We have been getting heavy rain every day
Ok Back to WalMart. For once I stuck right to my list. I had some produce to get that I either forgot or they didn't have at Winn Dixie. But I also had a hula hoop on the list.Bill found one. The hula hoop is because of my buddy Karyn in New Zealand. Next feat will be to see if I can stand long enough to do it. Plus just do it. I have never been able to do it.So we will see if an old dog can learn new tricks.
1 Exercise at least 10 minutes every day- Done- I did 15 minutes when i first got up just to make sure I got at least 10
2 eat slower. --- using my timer at all meals at home.We ate out at lunch again
3.Get up and walk to bedroom and back at least 5 times. done
4. Attempt to stay in calorie range or at least not go over by much.But mainly aim to be in the range I did stay in range yesterday and am close today
5. To reduce salt usage. ongoing again this is going very good.

Went to get my nails done and they were closed today.Bill wants me to go where they speak English but I have gone here for 9 years. I am always telling them to speak English but they don't.They talk to each other in their language.

Well my first night with machine was not very successful. I got no sleep with machine. I did keep it on as much as I could stand.But by 5 am I was exhausted from not sleeping and having to take mask off for awhile and then back on. I was wiped out all day.Then I ended up with our grandson which was not a good day for that. But we took him to lunch and got groceries. I had him help me put groceries away. His parents came and got him at 4.Ben Sr had to go to ER as he was so dizzy. As soon as they picked Ben jr up I went to try to take a nap. No nap but I kelp the machine on for an hour. No nap but rested body some. I am going to try a different size pillow later and see if that helps.
Bill was not doing good either at the sleep testing place.He said he finally got a little sleep.They had to tie a chin strap on him to keep his mouth closed. So we were both pretty much zoombied out most of the day. I got some sleep after 5am and he took a 3 hour nap this afternoon.

Here is my kitchen salt shaker and I marked where it was 7 days ago.The bottom of rubber band is where it was. I just measured it and it has only come down 3/8th of an inch. Normally by now it would be empty and then some. I am quite proud of how I have cut back on salt.
Well I need to go play with c-pap and put a different pillow on it. I keep telling myself it will be worth it.
Well I got it. Now I have to get use to it.I tried to take a nap with it on. Wasn't real successful but wasn't too bad.I did keep it on for 40 minutes. I got the pillows and that is so much better than the mask. It is a simple machine to use. When you first turn it on it will go to full pressure but you hit button next to it and it decreases it way down and then slowly increases during the next 20 minutes. I may have to turn it off and on a few times during the night. I used it without the water this afternoon. Bill went and got the distilled water and I will have the water in there tonight.I had Bill take a picture and I do look pitiful . I really am not as miserable as I look.
This was the day for pictures.We had to go to AAA and get passport pictures so we can renew our gun permits. This is how I looked earlier today
My grandson called and wants to spend some time with us tomorrow. We are going to go get him at noon and take him to lunch and then to grocery store with us.Will bring him to house for a short visit. 11 year old boys are too active for a long visit.

Our snake made an appearance. Bill tried to get him after I got my pics but he was way too fast. He actually climbed almost to the top of the little magnolia tree.
Well nothing else going on. I think I am going to make me some clam chowder for a change tonight.Bill goes for 2nd part of sleep test.They messed up his date and called today to remind him to come tomorrow.He called them back and they had an opening tonight so he still goes tonight.
He may have a lot of trouble.He tried mine and mine is much easier than one he will have on tonight. He had trouble with mine.

Today is my Angelina's birthday. Brianna cooked supper for her Mom tonight.
We had to go to my most unfavorable place to go tonight. We had to go to a memorial service for a dear friends husband. They were lovingly married for 57 years. The last 3 years have been very hard on them.He went into a nursing home 2 years ago. Another example of how fast life can change. I first met Emma when I took my first art class from her.She is a very accomplished pen and ink artist but teaches all mediums.When Bob got sick she had to stop teaching.She told me tonight she is going to go back to teaching. But Bob was such an active vibrant man and went downhill so fast. As someone who went from being able to do anything to someone who can barely do anything now I know how it feels.
After we went out for supper to a nice italian restaurant. How did I do?? Depends on how you look at it.Caloriewise not so good. Quantity that I ate was good. I only ate half of soup and boxed up the rest. Then I had a real wild hair and got fried calamari. My daddy would have been proud.he often ate squid for breakfast and I thought it was awful. I only ate half of it. I will freeze it for sometime in the future maybe. Then I got the seafood platter which was shrimp scallops,mussels in linguine and marinara sauce. i did eat a little over half and brought that home. I may have the soup later for a snack and the other for lunch tomorrow. I will try to get a guesstimate but I am sure I am over. But in the past I would have eaten every bite and I didn't so I feel good about that.
I will be getting my c-pak tomorrow. i called and talked to my doc's nurse this morning and told her I was not a happy camper.She said she bet she knew why. She tried to blame it on other personnel at other office but it could and should have been taken care of sooner.
But It did get done and medical supply guy called me right away and someone is bring it tomorrow. Bill will get to see what he can look forward to.
Bill goes tomorrow night for 2nd part. Brianna is going to spend the night with me to be my protector as I don't like being alone at night. I know I am a big baby

I finally found a way to wear my medic alert bracelet without it breaking my arm out. I made a non medal bracelet and so far it is working good.

We had a bad storm come thru last night around 1 am. So between the storm,and Bill's snoring I did not have a good night.
I am going to have to call the docs office and get nurse to do what she was suppose to do last week. I was standing there when she was told to get it done right away.
