Another quiet day. I am very happy to report that I stayed in my calorie range yesterday for first time in a long time. It was so hard to do. We will have to wait and see how the rest of the night goes.
I still don't have my c-pak.The medical supply place called to let me know they are doing their best to get the paperwork. My doctors nurse is falling down on the job. I am getting aggravated as she told me she would take care of it yesterday and she hasn't done it.

1 Exercise at least 10 minutes every day- Did 12,15,13,16 increments for total of 56 min today.
2 eat slower. --- Used timer for lunch and supper and did good
3.Get up and walk to bedroom and back at least 5 times during the day did 7
4 Track food calories no matter how high doing
4. Attempt to stay in calorie range or at least not go over by much. But mainly aim to be in the range don't know yet for today
5. To reduce salt usage. ongoing this is going much better than I expected

I counted my sweeties zaps tonight and he got zapped 40+ times and now arms are covered in blisters.

Here are a few pics I took a little while ago. The first one of the mocking bird is cool.If you notice his head is completely turned to the back.Bill said that is what is called having eyes in the back of your head.

And this guy was in front yard

And my desert rose is blooming again

Hi sweet one! Love that mockingbird pic...isn't that cool how they can turn their head all the way around. We have a Great Horned Owl that stops by our back yard and they can do the same thing! I've got to tell you...I have NO faith in the medical society...NONE whatsoever! I've just seen too many screw ups amongst my friends...but what are you gonna do? emoticon

As usual the pictures are good, but the really good part is that is sounds as if you are really recording the important stuff and actually beating your goals. That's the way great gains are made - the same way you eat an elephant.

    Poor Bill! That must hurt.

I'm not very patient lately so I'd probably be on the phone with the doctor's office. Hopefully they can get their act together and you get it soon.

I liked Bill's comment about the eyes in the back of it's head. That's weird it can do that. I like the little squirrel. They're so cute.

Trip to Dermatologist

Monday, August 16, 2010

Today we had our check. Poor Bill.As I knew he got zapped big time on arms and just a little on ears. I got 3 tiny zaps on my nose which I expected. He did take care of little knot I had on my back. I didn't think he could or would do anything since I am on coumidan but he said it wouldn't bleed much. Just took a few seconds and he got rid of it.Just like a deep pimple. Glad it is gone.It didn't hurt but would get a little sore sometimes. Bill has to go back in 6 months. When I asked when I should come back he said when I saw something growing.LOL I don't have skin that is prone to skin cancers. Bill does. We both went on room together and joked about we were having too much togetherness. Then doc told an off color joke about senior citizens. So it was a good trip for me but not so great for my poor sweetie.
Here is what I just put in oven. Cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, yellow squash, a few potatoes and some chicken strips

These are the easy meals to make.Throw everything in oven.I do have a nice salad fixed in fridge

1 Exercise at least 10 minutes every day- Done
2 eat slower. --- doing
3.Get up and walk to bedroom and back at least 5 times during the day done
4 Track food calories no matter how high doing
4. Attempt to stay in calorie range or at least not go over by much. But mainly aim to be in the range I really think this is almost hopeless. I was in such great shape yesterday and it all went to sh-t later in the night.
5. To reduce salt usage. ongoing Am doing very good with this.

I was disappointed in the next food network star. I wanted Tom to win.Arrti is cute but just way too perky. I can't stand the perky blond that won last year either. I wanted the tall quiet guy to win. Oh well.

Ok Not much going on.Need to see what I am going to watch and what I will tape. There is either nothing on or too much on. Have a good evening. It is still super hot here.

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
Love your pics! They are always the best, I love your little friends. I've been staying pretty much in calorie range too. I haven't lost this week but at least I didn't gain. It is raining here today. I was planning to can today with my friend. I have some tomatoes and we were going to go to a pick your own farm too maybe not on that today. I made turkey chili for supper last night with brown rice and salad and spinach, turned out very good. Well, I'm going to go and get this day started, talk to you soon, sorry Bill got zapped all those times, ouch!

Take care,

Sounds like a fun trip to the Dermatologist - NOT! Poor Bill! It's necessary.

Your dinner looks delicious. I think Jason is stopping somewhere for dinner. He has a coach meeting tonight for baseball at 6PM. I stayed home today because I could hardly move when I woke up. I was in such pain. I stayed home, rested, and took some Tylenol. I'm trying to stay off my feet as much as possible today so I'll be able to go to work tomorrow.

We finally got a break from the humidity. It's nice out but buggy. I was sitting in my swing and had to come in because of the bugs. Many people are turning off their AC and opening windows but ours is staying on. It was 76 degrees in the house when all the girls were over on Saturday and I was sweating. I had to sleep with a fan directly on me. Your pool must be like bath water.

I don't think there's anything on TV tonight. My laptop will keep me busy.

It has been another quiet day.No drama so far.
I made my big pot of veggie soup. I did something different and ended up with less cups and more calories. Oh well.I still ended up with each bag only 80cals.
I also steamed a huge bag of fresh green beans to eat whenever.
I got a lot of exercises done little at a time but ended up with total of 43 minutes. No counting the walks to room or my sit and stands. i am up to 10 sit and stands which is good for me.

I am hoping to talk Bill into a board game but I may give him a break. He went out in the heat and pulled all the weeds that were getting in my potted plants. My desert roses are starting to bloom again.
Am going to fix those tofu noodles for supper.Trying to decide how I want to do it. Either with a little butter and parmeson cheese.Or with a little bit of pasta sauce. Even thought about dumping a can of clams in them. I will let you know tomorrow .
Bill and I both go to dermatologist tomorrow.I feel for him as he is going to get zapped big time.

1 Exercise at least 10 minutes every day- 43 min today
2 eat slower. --- used timer at lunch and will use it at supper
3.Get up and walk to bedroom and back at least 5 times during the day done
4 Track food calories no matter how high doing
4. Attempt to stay in calorie range or at least not go over by much. But mainly aim to be in the range Did not do good yesterday and hope to do better today

The soup sounds so good, I was thinking about making vegetable soup. I have to get the frozen veggies first. I didn't do very well diet wise for the last few days but got back on yesterday. I had a big salad for dinner, very tasty. Well, good luck with the tofu, I'm anxious to hear how it tastes. I've bought it several times but end up throwing it away, have to get nerve to fix it. Grocery day.My big outing of the week emoticon
We got a couple of movies to watch as saturday hasn't much of anything on TV to watch.
I have most of groceries taken care of.A few to be put up in back. But I have all the fruit and veggies washed and bagged etc.
Tried to take a nap but wasn't successful.Just as I dozed off I got a cramp in right foot. Then heart started racing. And then Defibrillator was hurting. It gets sore sometimes. So I sad to you know what with it and got up.
Tried to put my book list up to date and worked on our med refill sheet. I just got 6 new scripts and looks like I need 3 more. It strains my brain keeping up with so many.. I did get the computer desk cleared off where you can see desk. Now the table behind me is another story. The pile keeps getting higher.
I got a bunch of camera info put in a notebook in order so I can see what is there. The manual that came with came is small.I have to get all the info from a web site.Saves them a lot of printing.

Bill picked up a case of diet root beer and I was pleased to see it is caffeine free. Will be a nice change.
I changed my goals around a little to be more attainable and thus not so stressful to do

1 Exercise at least 10 minutes every day- did 23 minutes this morning
2 eat slower. --- did not use timer at lunch as we ate out but will use it at supper
3.Get up and walk to bedroom and back at least 5 times during the day . This is almost done and will be done shortly
4 Track food calories no matter how high. Doing this
4. Attempt to stay in calorie range or at least not go over by much. But mainly aim to be in the range ---- Very doubtful I will get this done.Did not do it yesterday and I should have easily but night eating got me again
5. To reduce salt usage. ongoing This is going good. I put a rubber band around the salt shaker today with todays date so I can see how fast it goes down. I know I am using much less. Not thrilled to be doing it but it is necessary.

Only have one pic.I just saw this little guy a few minutes ago

ok It is almost time to start supper.Turkey burgers tonight. I was going to make myself a cheeseburger but I may just cook a burger and have a piece of a baked potato and a salad.
Oh I did find something I have never tried at store today
Tofu Shirataki Angel hair shaped noodle substitution. 8 oz is only 40 cal. I was looking at wonton wrappers which I have no idea how to use and spotted this. Will give it a try.
Ok Hope your weekend is going ok

We're having a bad dinner tonight. Jason is getting pizza for the girls but since I don't like pizza, he's stopping at McDonald's for my sweet tea. MMMMMMM!

Another quiet day. Bill saw the doc and he goes for 2nd part of sleep test next Friday.he will need a c-cap. Where I was in the minor he was in the center. It actually counted how many times he snored.Or each breath he took that was a snore.Over 3000. The doc told him there was 3 categories. Low like me and middle like him and then the very high.
So we will have matching c-paks.LOL. If my doc's office hadn't dropped the ball i would have had mine today. The place where it is coming from even went to the office to get info that was missing and left a note stating exactly what they needed. They only sent half.He tried all day to get in touch with someone and so did I. When I called him I did find out i can have the pillow type which is not as confining as the mask type, So that is good. No matter which one it will take some adjusting. I decided not to take the ambien when I read some of side effects. Decided I take enough meds that I am not taking more if I don't have to.

I went over my calories last night by just a little.I was happy. I have not go way over since I made my list, I changed one of my daily goals.

1 Exercise at least 10 minutes every day- Done-
2 eat slower. --- Used timer at lunch and supper 20 min for lunch and 30 for supper
3.Get up every and walk to bedroom and back at least 5 times during the day Done
4. Attempt to stay in calorie range or at least not go over by much. But mainly aim to be in the range Day not over but should be fine
5. To reduce salt usage. ongoing This is going better than I thought. It was too hard to eat cucumbers without salt so I had Bill put a little on them as I would put twice as much on. But am eating my tomato snacks without salt.Don't like it as much but doing it anyway

I was pleased with the ending of SYTYCD even if Robert didn't win.Lauren was a favorite too. I was as surprised as anyone to see Ellen dance a hip hop with Twitch. She did pretty good too.

We are still getting some rain every day.But suppose to have heat advisories for the weekend.

I did have a pretty butterfly stop by today. I think this first one is my favorite

Ok I guess that's it for me.OH i got an email from an old friend who needed a walker. She came today and got the extra one that I got he other day. I tried to give it to her but she insisted on paying me something. So I told her if it made her feel better to just give me $20. She wrote me a check for $25.I am just glad I found someone I know who needed it. It has worked out great having my old one in car all the time. I needed it yesterday and normally wouldn't have had it.

Ok Here is a quote I got from Facebook I think Derinda posted it.
