Blogging late

Friday, June 18, 2010

I have all good news today.
i did well yesterday. I accomplished each of my daily goals yesterday. I stayed in my calorie range,I got to bed before 2,I did some exercises. I probably didn't get a full 10 minutes but I did lift my hand weight several times during the day so I am counting that as doing my goal.
Today has been a good day also. I did a lot of extra walking that I don't normally do just I am counting that as exercise. My calories are ok right now but it is early.
The best news is I have a new camera. A lot of brain strain even tho it is similar to what I have.Still different getting pics to computer. I need to change a few settings when I figure out how. The instructions are all on internet. The book has very little instructions. I may have to print the whole thing out. I did play around a little with taking pics and using the video.
Here is a pic of camera and a couple thru window. I took the ones thru the window late in the day and I never get good ones then.I will do a better test tomorrow.

Ok I have a lot of emails to get thru. Talk to you tomorrow

Good day, Eleni and congrats on the new camera.

I have been looking and am sold on the Kodak Z981. Jo (Veggies and Blooms Team)
got this one and she really likes it. I have a Kodak Z series now and have been so happy with it. My camera is 5 megapixils with a 10x optical zoom. It has been a good camera but I too would like a new one.

Have a great weekend.

Ok I did go over my calories last night but not too bad. I did get to bed before 1 which was great. Buy unfortunately it turned out to be a crappy night. I could not get to sleep. It was after 5 am before I was able to fall asleep. Then I slept off and on til 11. Felt like crap when I got up.
My grand daughter Brianna ( Angel's daughter) came over and did some stuff for me. Angel felt bad she couldn't come clean this week and I told her I would be thrilled to just have Brianna come change bed sheets. So Brianna came. She also did a bunch of other things since I was not feeling so great. She is your normal terrible teen to her Mom but so good to me. She knew I would pay her something but she would have done it for nothing . She did a bunch of stuff in kitchen and so odds and ends stuff. A big help as she did several things I usually do but just wasn't up to it. I gave her some gas money and some just for her to spend.
Wasn't up to cooking supper so it was up to Bill.He brought me home a cuban sandwich.
I didn't do any chair exercises but I did do some hand weight which count as exercise to me. I should be ok with calories but never know that til day ends.
Bill is having a lot of trouble with his legs lately. He is stopping all cholesterol meds and see if it gets better. He was teasing me that I would have to take care of him. I told him we were both in big trouble then.
He has a big bowling tournament in Lakeland next weekend. We will be staying there the whole weekend.I will just stay in Hotel room. He could drive back and forth but this will be easier and we can still be together.
Ok Nothing new that I can think of. Will talk to you tomorrow.

I didn't know anyone around here hadn't had a Cuban.

It's nice that you have family close enough to help without having them living with you. That's gotten away from a lot of people, me included.

I had a problem with my legs (they felt really tired and all worn out for no identifiable reason) and I cut the niacin down to half. It worked - the problem went away. Unfortunately both Crestor and Zocor worked for a while, and then I started having really bad problems with nouns. I couldn't remember "truss" for days, along with plenty of other names, and that was when I stopped the Zocor. Later on I had the same problem with Crestor. All is well for a while, and then you start to have problems. So far lovastatin (Mevacor) still doesn't give me that problem, but the pill book claims that any statin can cause the problem.

Tell Bill I'm pulling for him.

It has been a good day more or less.
Most of the sod is down.It looks strange to see grass instead of dirt. It was so hot I was worried one of them was going to pass out. Bill put a big cooler outside full of cold drinks for them. They still have a little work to do tomorrow.
I found out how hot it was when I left to go get my hair cut. My outside temp on car was 106 when I first got in and when I got to hair place it had settled at 96. The air was very hot and heavy. No place for me out there.
My poor Angel girl can't get a break. Now she has a bad chest cold she picked up from kids at her house. Plus she is still having stomach pains.Brianna is coming tomorrow to do some housework for me. It is nice that she is able to drive now. I told her to be sure and not act like a teenager until her Mom gets better. She just laughed. She knows that is my way of saying she better be good or I will be on her.
I do have good news about last night. I ended way under my calorie range by just a little. That doesn't happen often. But didn't make it to bed early. I got wrapped up in playing a game on facebook. But slept pretty good.
I made a copy of the donkey cartoon and put it in kitchen.Bill thought it was great.
It is going to be close on calories tonight. I am not over yet but had a big supper. Sometimes I wish I weren't a good cook.Supper was awesome. I cooked a pork loin in my iron skillet with potatoes with a killer gravy. Heated up some of leftover veggies from last night.
So only have a few calories left for later.
But I am still doing better than I have in a long time.
Ok here is a before and after of part of back yard that I look at all the time.

I have found the camera I may get. It is almost same one I have but with improvements like more zoom and more mega pixels.

Wow...that heat seems awful! Your yard looks nice, with that heat you would think that all of your grass would look burned.
That camera seems like a good one. I bet you'll love the 35mm zoom that it has. Not to mention the mega pixels. There is so much to learn on these new cameras, but they have such great features on it and they are more user friendly than the old ones. I love digital! Where you can see the picture right away and know if it is a good one or not while you are there on scene. You can delete and retake right on the spot. emoticon
Nice to hear that Brianna is comming over to help. You are both helping each other it seems.
Good luck with selecting you new camera...there are so many nice ones out there it is hard to choose.

Seems like it has been forever since I have had gravy. Sounds good but not on my "plan" until I make goal.

The sod looks great. It will take lots of water to get established but you will be glad when it is established.

Send me the donkey cartoon.

Grass sure does make a difference! Now the snake can hide better. Hee, hee, hee.

I make a pork tenderloin in the crockpot with potatoes & onions and it just falls apart. YUM! I'll have to make that again soon. Since I got pregnant I haven't been counting calories so it's going to be difficult once the baby comes and back to the routine.

The camera looks nice. I need to touch and play too before I buy. I put my camera shopping aside. I was getting discouraged. I'll get another nice one to replace my 1/2 broken one I don't use anymore. My little point & shoot is fine for now.

Poor Angel! It's one thing after another. Hopefully this is it and she's on the road to recovery.

Your grass looks great. I wish I had someone else put in the grass for me. I assume it was bare like hat because someone had killed everything, waited until it was all dead, then watered the soil well to give the new sod something to dig into. I also wonder when is the best time to sod the lawn? I got good results with the stuff I put in this spring, but right now it seems like it would be inclined to dry out sooner.

The camera looks nice. I had a Cannon for a few years until Ace dropped it on the concrete floor. Now I have an HP, but I did think of getting another Cannon in passing. The optical viewfinder is very useful when you're outside in the sun.

Hope you finish up with another good day. emoticon

    Hi Ms. Eleni,
i haven't talked to you in a couple days but I'm still keeping up with you. I weighed in yesterday and didn't lose this week but I didn't gain either, I stayed the same so I'll try better this week. Good you've got the sod down and you'll have grass again. We have a project going on in our yard too, my husband is fixing an old car for a friend and bought the same car to fix it with, it's just and older model and has alot of damage so it was cheap. He can't physically fix so he is paying neighbor boys to do it for much cheaper rates than an auto shop although amateurs. It's almost finished and our friend will be back on the road. We like to help people, it makes us feel good. I made chicken tonite in crockpot with barbeque sauce on it and stopped at Boston Market to pick up sides to go with it. We both liked everything, mashed pot, mixed veg, stumffing (alittle) and creamed spinach, yumm. I might have a few calories left over, i have to calculate yet. Take care, I took pics of my birds, i just have to post, have a good nite,

Blogging early today

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

I have a few minutes so decided to do my blog early.
I slept so much better last night.Woke up a lot but went back to sleep fairly easy. I also took my extra diuretics yesterday and got rid of most of fluid. I didn't wait this time hoping it would get better.
I did not get to bed at midnight but I did get there before 1 which is better than 2 or 3. The beast got me again but tonight is a new night.
I am making all veggies for supper. I will have leftovers for snacks or to add to my soup.
The steamer on left has brocolli on top and cauliflower on bottom. The steamer on right has squash and cabbage on bottom and carrots on top.
In front is a pan with fresh corn I cut off the cob. On tray is okra and a potato I will slice up and bake in oven. The okra has a little of my homemade bread crumbs.
So everything is fresh. I will also have some fresh sliced tomatoes and cucumbers. Can't get much healthier than this

And this devil has come back.He is about 2 foot long. I was not happy to see it.

The lawn guys did not show up and Bill moved our vehicles and put out a big cooler with lots of cold drinks for them. I don't like my car out by the road and Bill's truck either. Bill called and someone forgot to call us to let us know they wouldn't have sod until tomorrow. I drug the cooler back in and took ice out rather than see it get wasted.

I found this on another ladies page and copied it .I am going to print it out and put on my fridge

Those steamers look like serious business. We just have things that sit in a pot, and put a little water in the bottom, seal it up, and heat them on the stove. You're ready to go into production!

I hope you get your sod tomorrow. Also, I'm glad nothing happened to your page. For a while I was worried that it would be messed up like mine was.
