Happy Easter

Sunday, April 04, 2010

This will be a short blog today.I wasn't feeling well last night so I am behind in my emails big time. I even went to bed at 10:30 which is early for me.
I cooked my first leg of lamb today and I will brag and say it was beyond awesome. Did I make a pig of myself.Of course. All my good intentions went straight out the window when I smelled and tasted the first bite. I failed to count all the calories.Maybe a million will cover it. Only joking. It wasn't that bad. We both had our fill so I will give what is left to Angel when she stops by later. I may cut myself off just a small piece of meat. This will be all the lamb we eat until next year. I also made some killer deviled eggs with deli style spicy mustard with horseradish in it. Leftovers of those go to Angels. Will have something low cal for supper.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I now have a couple of hours to be on computer trying to catch up. It is a beautiful sunny day here.
PS I did do some exercises this morning. Not as much as usual but did some.

I've never had lamb, but your dish looks yummy..Holidays always mean extra calories if you want something special.

I love deviled eggs. Fast way to make them is put the yolks in a ziplock bag, put in the mustard or miracle whip, horseradish or whatever you like, squish the bag till yolks are mixed up smooth, then cut the tip off of one corner and squeeze into each egg half, like frosting a cake.. no mess to clean up..

Today seems like a good nap day for a lot of folks..I had to fight the sleepys during church this now it's time for my big chair and ottoman to get acquainted with my big butt and feet..LOL

Have a great Easter, Ladybug..

hugs- Pat

We are having turkey tenderloin with dijon mustard sauce. I did have coffee cake this morning that I, yes I did say I, bought. Oops! Well its Easter right. Your lamb looks wonderful. Put the Jelly Beans down and no one will get hurt. Hehehe

Hugs to you, my friend.

    Happy Easter!!!

It's a holiday so it's OK to swerve of course. It's not like you sat down and ate a whole bag of jelly beans. emoticon I saw lamb (they were small with a bone, lamb chops maybe?) and I was tempted to buy them but I have no clue how to cook them. I still don't know if I want to try it either.

I haven't had deviled eggs in 3 years. I think they're a pain in the butt to make. I'm perfectly content with eating a hard boiled egg with salt.

I decided to have a salad at lunch, not Ramen. Dinner will be steak on the grill, baked potatoes, corn, and rolls. I have a chocolate lamb cake for dessert.

Enjoy the rest of your day! It's a sunny day here too. I think it's in the low 60's. After lunch I'm going to head outside to read for a bit.

I was so tired this evening I took a nap at 6.
I did not do well on my eating today. We went to a local deli restaurant and I indulged in a liverwurst sandwich. It was so big I had half at lunch and half at supper. It had way more calories than I thought.. So I will be over some but not too much. I had a good loss today. I am not sure how much was real weight loss and what was water loss..If I have another good loss next week I will know I am truly losing.I have been much better with my eating this week and my exercising.
After we had lunch we went to get my nails done.I met the nicest young woman. She is only about 38 and has MS. Altho we have different health conditions we found we have many of the same difficulties.I started telling her about spark and she is going to check it out. When we went to the car I got one of my spark cards out and Bill took it in to her. I do hope she checks it out.
We watched The Blind Side this afternoon. It was far better than I was expecting. It is a good movie. We are watching Sherlock Holmes right now.I think it is dumb but nothing on TV.Bill seems to like it.
Well I am still on the tired side so I will say goodnight.

I have never been a liverwurst fan. I looked it up on line too and 1 oz has about 92 calories. A 3 oz sandwhich with bun still should be under 400 calories. It doesn't sound all that bad.

BTW - have you heard from Bobbi? Hope all is well with her.

Have a Blessed & Joyous Day.

Good to hear you had a good weight loss this week. I haven't been on the scales this week. Scary!!!
Hope your garden does well. Let me know how the topsy/turvy works. I have thought about buying one, but never have.
Glad to hear the eating is going better.
I'm having to catch up, haven't been on computer in days...
Take care and have a wonderful Easter. Oh, yes, you must tell us how you fixed the lamb. Haven't had that since I lived in Greece. It was always good. The did it on a spit outside.

I'm getting The Blindside in my Easter basket tomorrow morning. I haven't seen it yet but it looks like a movie that will make me cry.

I hope you have a great Easter!

It sounds like you had a pretty good day, all in all! Remember - we're not perfect. As long as we do well 80% of the time, we can have the occasional liverwurst sandwich somewhere in that other 20%!

Whew. It has been a busy day. And I still have a lot to do.
Had a nice lunch with my sweetie. We picked up some dvd's for the weekend. Then off to the grocery store. Got a lot of sales items.Bill got some from our local Publix that had a shooting this week.Very sad.
Now my refridge is bursting at the seams.I have 6 packs of meat I have to weigh rewrap and get in freezer. And I have to do it tonight because I need to get the leg of lamb out of freezer and I have no room. Got a lot of extra veggies too as some of it was too cheap to not get.
And on top of that I have to make my meds up which takes a long time. Oh well Bill just got out the card table for me. I will get him to help with meds.
Bad news is Bill's van has broke down again. We just put big bucks in it a couple of weeks ago and it looks like transmission is gone. Not cheap to fix.Oh well SH-T happens.
I do have some good news that is both good and bad. My son called to tell me we have another grandbaby on the way. This will be #12. It is due around Thanksgiving. A baby is always a blessing but this is last thing they need. I congratulated him but I am somewhat worried.
I got my exercises done this morning before Bill got home from bowling. And the scale is moving down. I still have problems with fluid but I have not had to take extra diuretics in over a week.
I have also done much better with night eating too.
I still haven't done my plants. Brianna is coming on tuesday to spend the night and she said she would help me get it done.I told Bill he owes her as now he doesn't have to do it. emoticon
Ok I have to go.I still have a lot to do. Have a great night.Talk to you tomorrow

Way to go with the night eating!!! I hope the scale shows your hard work tomorrow.

I don't believe I've ever had lamb either. Well, that's not entirely true. I've had a lamb cake before but I don't think that counts. I wouldn't know how to cook it and if I would even eat it. This year for Easter we're doing something different for dinner. We're having steak on the grill, potatoes (either mashed or baked), and a veggie.

We went grocery shopping tonight as well. It was a madhouse because of the holiday weekend. One of my biggest pet peeves it people stopping in the middle of an aisle and nobody can get around them. Tonight people were testing my patience. Even Jason was stopping in the middle of aisles. We got out of the store and I wasn't too aggravated. After putting groceries away went to Super Wal-Mart to try and finish our Easter shopping. We have 3 more stores to hit tomorrow.

Congrats on the new grandbaby due in November!! Things always have a way of working out. I'm living proof of that.

It's so nice of Brianna to help out. She's a doll.

you must have hit the jackpot on sales at the store today..I've never tasted lamb..what's that like? chicken? just kidding emoticon

glad to see that you are dropping some more pounds..I knew you could get that done, and congrats on the night nibbles..I've been nibbling to much, but haven't gained anything.. we both know why.. Yep Sh|t happens.. biopsy next Thursday at 8:00a.m. I'm skeered as the old saying goes..

It has been another not bad day.
I got almost all my exercises done.Had to shorten zookinesis as my back was bothering me.
I also sat out on the deck in the sun. It was so nice out there. It will soon be too hot out there.Bill is going to pick up an umbrella we can use on deck.
I was doing bad with my eating for most of the day. Not eating bad stuff just eating too much. Got it under control and still have plenty left for my night snack. Am slowly doing better with night eating. Had a low cal dinner to offset earlier eating.Turkey burger and baked veggies. Had a lot of veggies left over to add to my soup bags as I eat them.
I tried the leftover kale in a salad and it was not good. But I added some to my soup and it is good that way.So I just add a little each day when I have my soup lunch.
Our little veggie garden is looking good. Bill is enjoying his earth box and topsy turvy. He is in charge of those. My squash plants look good for now. I have one small tomato plant that is mine and it has several little tomatoes. This is our 3rd try and last if we can't get anything to produce.
Starting to see a few butterflies. I enjoy seeing them out my window.
Ok Nothing new. Several of my programs on tonight. Will tape some and watch some. Bill is staying up to watch Mentalist with me so I don't have to tape that.
Have a good night.
This was the sky last week over my back fence.I don't think I posted it.

And this guy was checking out things yesterday afternoon.

That sky is beautiful. I can imagine that in a painting. We have not planted tomatoes yet. The Master Gardeners sale is April 19 so I may wait until then to buy plants. However, today I am going to work in the yard. Can't wait for everything to grow. I hope you have a great day today -- not a "not bad" one. Are you having family home for Easter?     I love the pic of the sky. It is very intriguing. We had ground turkey for dinner too. But I make pizza. I had small pizza crusts and put salsa for my sauce and then topped with ground turkey(cooked with a little garlic/onion spice and cumin) and colby jack cheese. It was very delicious if I do say so myself.
That squirrel just wanted to know what was going on there and why those two were joined at the lip.

It was gorgeous here too. It was 82 degrees here. Tomorrow is supposed to be upper 70's and we may see 80. I am staying home tomorrow but may not be able to enjoy the weather. I've had an earache since this morning. My OB told me to call my family doctor and get in. Hopefully I can get an appointment for tomorrow.

You're going to have a beautiful tan!!! I burn then go what again. emoticon

What's an earth box? I've seen the Topsy Turvy's in the store but haven't been ambitious enough to try it. I always said I wanted a veggie garden when we move (our last place wouldn't let us) but we've been here 3 years and I haven't done it yet.

I love the picture of your Florida sky. It's so pretty.

It has been a good day.Or rather it hasn't been a bad day.
I got all my exercises done and sat out in sunshine. It got hot out there after a few minutes.
I will soon turn on the solar panels and then I can use the pool.
Angel and Brianna have come to clean. I told Angel it is her time to cook. I fixed two crock pot meals. One for them and one for me. I used my little crock pot for me. Theirs has potatos and mine don't. I put broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas and some carrots in mine.I also added some extra mushrooms. I did use cream of mushroom soup and that runs up the calories. But No matter I know exactly how many calories are in mine. I have already added my calories and I am good for the day with plenty of extra for later.
I did do better with my eating last night. If I could have gone to sleep it would have been better. I ended up getting back up and ate some crackers. But no butter.Just the crackers. So I only went over a little.
The scale seems to be slowly moving down.We will see how it looks on Saturday.
I still haven't gotten my plants repotted. But I did have Bill move them into the sun. So this is what I see outside the window now.It will look different later. I did see a large light yellow butterfly yesterday and the bees are showing up.

Haven stopped by to visit before Angel takes her to her house
Ok supper is calling my name.Hope you had a good day
