Since the beginning of Great Lent I have tried to be positive every day. To think about the blessings that I have in my life. Recently my cousin (who is 15) asked me to help her out with her weightloss. She weighs 250 pounds. This week we started her weightloss journey by walking a race in Niles, Ohio. she did fantastic. Then we worked out at home, and I taught her the food label and how to read it. I had her join SparkTeens, which like our site. it is younger people that can relate to her. We went to the YMCA last nite and she worked out on the treadmill and the bike. She did a great job!
It breaks my heart that she is this big, but she sees MissV making progress so she wanted to change her life also! The positive thing that she is doing for me is that, I have to be held accountable to her now. That gives me motivation to help her more!
Happy to say another 5 pounds gone! (don't want to find them either!) Running a 5k in Howland on Sunday.
Have a Great Day everyone!

Happy New Year to the new you and "me". So many times people put on the wish list to loose weight, why not change that to being healthier. To get one's life back. Remember when life was simple when one was younger, and fun?
Where did the fun go? Starting a "diet" or let's say a "Do-it", lets put the "fun" back in it. Walking with a group of friends, or your family can be fun, taking a hike which you haven't done for quite awhile, Put the "fun" back in, and you'll see how easy becoming healthier can be.
Watching your calorie intake with become alot easier. Looking forward to the fun with friends and family each day or every other day will lift one's spirits.
Will there be obstacles? MANY! Keep the GOAL and FUN in close, don't loose sight of it.
My "wish" for this year, to run the Columbus Marathon in October, to keep to my calorie count and budget for the household( that will be a challenge), and to be healthier.
Hoping for a Blessed 2011, and may all your "FUN" and wishes come to be.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Christmas a time for new beginnings, new life. Among all the wrapping paper, cookies, food and candy, there is still one thing that haunts me, my weight. I had a car accident on November 30th, in 2 seconds my life changed.
I have been under a doctor's care since then, not being able to exercise or run, has gotten me a liitle down. The last race I ran was the Peace Race on October 24th, a 10K. I was happy with finishing, but now it seems so long ago. Now I have to watch my portions even closer, because the most exercise I get is walking from place to place not long distances. ( increasing the distance a little at a time)
My Husband got me a BIGGEST LOSER sweatshirt and T-shirt. One black and one blue. He has faith in me that I am going to succeed. I was happy when he said he would be more suppotive.
Next race,(walk) Jingle Bell Run 5k on December 31st ending the year on a positive note! Then to ring in 2011 with a walk on New Year's Day.
2011 is the year of hope, and accomplishments!

Today I started my day with going to Church, sitting there I realized all my blessings. When I was growing up , I didn't realize that people didn't have oatmeal for dinner. Sitting in church, I realize some people don't even have oatmeal in their pantry to fix. There are a lot of families in our area that are out of work, trying to make ends meet.
Then here I am worried about losing weight. Sure its taking longer then I expected, but slow and steady is the key. The world gives us lots of challenges, sometimes more than one can handle.
When I walked into the fellowship hall at church, I picked my angel for this year. She only asked for the things she needed to stay warm this winter. At such a young age she knows what important. I'll get her a few toys to round out her Christmas list.
I am blessed to be able to help out. I also realized that it takes everyone of us , to make a difference. I thank Sparkpeople and all the inspirational stories to help with my journey.
So in a good way, we are all helping each other, Thank you all for blessing me with your wisdom, support and way to goes!
Have a great Day!
