Tuesday, January 27, 2009 - Cardio / Eating Out

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

Today, I was really happy, I did 20 min. of cardio again on the ellyptical. My husband decided he wanted us to go over for buffet. I thought I blew it big time, but when I logged it in, my numbers are all good except 100 over on calories, and the cardio burned just over a hundred so basically, it is like eating today and not exercising or eating today and burned only the extra calories eaten. Well, I am not disappointed because I really expected it would be worse but it wasn't. I ordered a hot chocolate too and did not drink it, took one small sip and just didn't feel like it so I just left it. Also, I said to myself, you don't need the extra calories from the hot chocolate.

I actually went over on cardio like 23 min but logged it at 20 min. Tomorrow, I am going to try to push myself to do 25 - 30 min of cardio on the Ellyptical, or do bike some after 20 min of ellyptical. The walking I did today, small amount around the park, and casino, and working out, my foot isn't hurting me today emoticon

I made 3 camper payments, will make another one Monday (this will make Dec, Jan, Feb, March. I am going to try to get money to pay for April so that way we won't have a camper payment until april. If I can come up with enough to pay two payments, then it will be may. I can only pay 3 months in advance ahead, but they will let me do 3 months ahead. This will help, I hope. I made siding payment, so should be current with that. I want to try to get one in for that. If I can do that, it will help. I hope to get good news with one creditor and hope they will take my offer which will settle that debt. I shaved our cell phone bill down. Next is to shave the house phone down. I am going to try to pay my electric / gas bill ahead, hopefully water/sewer too. Anything I can myself ahead will help get us by.

Justification of Spend

Monday, January 26, 2009

My husband and I agreed to cash in my one 401k - smaller one - and go ahead and use to catch up some of our bills. We agreed, since it is my 401k and I do have to cash it to do bills, I deserve to upgrade to a new laptop. I don't often buy myself anything and always thinking of everyone else and will even do without. Since this was my money earned, saved, and suppose to be for retirement, I deserve to use part of it not on the bills. Part of me feels guilty since I lost my job, but had I not lost my job, I would have still done the same thing. It is a laptop that should last me 6 years too or more. My older laptop, still not very old, will go to my husband. His, a lower end then my old, will go to my step daughter, but only after she earns it. She has to show us that she can be responsible.

Also, I always find it hard to spend for myself. I've never been one to buy much on clothes, or anything for me. If I have extra money, I will do for everyone else, but not me. Don't know why, but that has always been me. I've always been a people person. I am still learning to take care of me and do nice things for me.

Yesterday's Adventure getting to Oregon

Monday, January 26, 2009

Well, we left at our usual 11:00 AM which puts us getting here 6-7PM depending how many peepee stops that we have to make. Well, the night before, we stopped at Best Buy to check out laptops. I was looking for an updated, new laptop for myself. Well, my husband and I looked and found one that would do, but my money wasn't available yet. The money was available the next day, but we wouldn't have time to go back to Best Buy and I decided that there was a reason, so I decided to check out on line at HP to see if I could get a good deal. Well, I found several I wanted, but once configured the way I wanted with everything, and after taxes, more than I wanted to pay. I saved in cart. We stopped in Oregon at Best Buy to check out the laptops. Woo Hoo, I found the exact laptop that I wanted with everything!!! It is screaming fast too. BUMMER...they were out of it, and it had clearance price on it. They said that the clearance price is for the demo machine, but could check their other locations. They store by the airport had one and I said no, not going out of my way. I then said, check Salem, do you have a store in Salem. Yep, and 12 in stock. My next question, but will I get the same price? Yep, we can ring you up here, call down there and have them have it ready for you to pick up. I paid for it and we drove to Salem, which is exactly where we go to get gas and eat. Well, we arrived in Salem, my computer was there, but not ready. OK, I got the few items I needed/wanted and computer still not ready. We went to get our gas and went to sit down and eat (sizzler). Well, we got back to store, still not ready, 45 min - 1 hour yet. I was not happy. I expressed myself of not being happy. Finally, computer was ready. She hands me my software and I asked, "where are my recovery disks?" She looked at me funny, looked at my receipt, oh, I did pay for it. OOOPs she didn't do them. She said, "I know you do not want to wait for me to make them, I can make them from a demo or can order them from hp and mail them." I said, "fine. I am not waiting." It was 7:30 and I still had a 3 hour drive yet. We left and made it here in 2.5 hours. Woo hoo.... got setup, climbed on bed and opened up my new computer. I am playing with it today. It is sceaming fast so far. Funny part, I can do my own recover disks. I actually paid for something I could have done without. I could have just bought the piece of sw and brought it with me and installed it myself. Oh well, live and learn. It was just that if they could have had it ready for when I got to Salem, I could have picked up, drove here, and not had to fuss with it. I still got a screaming deal on this computer. You can't configure a computer with all the extra's higher ram, harddrive, web cam, etc. for what I paid....lol...and not have to take the display. I told them I want a discount from the clearance price if I get display.

The other part, when we were looking for other laptops, he tried talking me out of this high end laptop to a much lower end laptop. I looked at him and said, wait, if I was to go for one of the lower end, I might as well not buy a laptop and just keep the one I have. I want a higher end. He said, but it sounds like, from what you do, this computer is an over kill. I don't care what he thinks, it may be an over kill, but it is what I wanted and you know what, I am happy with what I got. I just think he wanted to get the others sold and out the door since they had lots of those and none of the higher end computers left.

Monday, January 26, 2009 - CARDIO! I DID IT!

Monday, January 26, 2009

Today, I am in Oregon. I went over to office to check in. I got a small cup of coffee. I decided to walk over to pool to check temperature. Pool still to cool for me to get in. I decided to go to the gym and do my workout. My goal was to make 15 min of cardio. I did the ellyptical machine. I exceeded my 6 min on the ellyptical and actually made it 20 min. YEP, that is right, I did it for 20 minutes so I ended up not having to do the treadmill or bike. I got 20 minutes of cardio done. I started out and 2 minutes into it, felt like stopping, my heart rate was at 141 at that point. I told myself, nope, keep going, have to do at least 6 min. Well, when I reached the 6 min, I told myself that I have to exceed my 6 min, and made it to 10, then kept going and was getting close to 15 min and told myself, well, no more equipment if you make it to the 15 min mark. Next thing I knew I was at the 16 min mark so told myself to keep going, push yourself, only 4 min to go and you will exceed todays goal and actually be at 20 min of cardio and be done. Wow, I made it, I DID IT! I am so proud of myself for making it to 20 min and I have always found that machine hard. It is first time in my life I have made it 20 min on that machine. I can do it on the bike or the treadmill, but not on the ellyptical machine. I was so happy when I was done. My foot hurts, but not too bad. Ok, next blog I will write about yesterdays journey / adventure getting here.

Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 - End of Day

Sunday, January 25, 2009

Well, I did quite a bit of shopping. We went to mall to pick up our glasses since they were ready. We parked at the Sears End so we could walk all the way to the opposite end and back. We stopped at the food court on our way out. My husband got a stuffed chicken/broccoli and cheese stuffed pizza/calzone type (not sure what you call it. He gave me half and I ate half of the half. I got a stuffed supreme slice of pizza and ate half of half for lunch along with a mcDonald Parfait. We went to Winco, dropped girls off at movies, went to Best Buy, and now finally home. We went through McDonald's to get the girls something to eat. I was hungry since I had not had much today, I had a small hamburger and fry and parfait. I had baskin & Robbins ice cream too, 300 calories, but I only ate half and hubby had the other half. I logged in everything, I am in my numbers, actually on the low side, but that is ok. Again, brought healthy stuff for meals, a few not so healthy snacks for hubby. My foot is VERY sore from all the walking and standing. I just got done icing it. I put a pair of high heels on to see how it would feel to walk in high heels, but the pain may go away walking in high heel, but the other part of my foot hurts. I guess, I will start, to wear high heels occasionally again. Doctor said I may want to consider wearing high heels once in awhile again, that it would help. Now I am on my computer thinking about playing a game and watching tv and going to bed.
