I spent the other day in the emergency room! YUCK! Yes, Friday I went to the cardiologist office to be checked by the triage nurse and seen by the doctor in the office. She wheeled me to the emergency room to be checked out and even thought about admitting me overnight due to my heart history. YUCK! Well, my labs came back and good so no sign of it actually being my heart. However, it does not mean it isn't my heart. It maybe the new med Crestor. Oh, lovely. I took myself off of the Crestor. I seem to be feeling somewhat better. I still am not where I was, but getting there. Besides getting tired and fighting off the winter colds/flus etc.... trying to build my immune system, trying to be healthy. I've been off my Simvistatin too which I am not happy about because I was adjusted to it, but I felt since I had such reaction, it seems, of Crestor, that I better clear my system first as if I reject Lipitor, and could tolerate Simvistatin, I didn't want to have my body reject it right away because I was on a stronger statin. I will start my Simvistatin tonight.
Also, I have had to refrain from exercise too, at least to see if symptoms reside. Well, I think I can safely start exercising again.
Hopefully, this Wed, I will have internet and television.

Wow, have I had the stress today. I woke up to massive stress and still fighting headache and my heart is really really struggling today.
Ok, woke up to TV, Cell phone, House phone, Internet shut off, well internet is on still but supposed to be shut off.
Long story, but I have a new phone (pay as you go). I will have new internet and new tv service on Wed, Nov. 9th. Luckily with no deposit, even with my new crappy credit, but they are giving me the service and bill will come in month. I have 30 days to cancel or Keep. I have NO CONTRACTS. In fact, I am amazed at how more and more the contracts are beginning to cease. I think it really is because the economy / market. People just can't afford and if all they can get is contract, they end up losing it. Example, they lose their home because of loss of jobs. They have to move into apartment. Only provider is the one they don't have so they can't even transfer, but the 2 year contract they just signed up for, they can't pay the fees. There is more too it, but it seems more and more companies are offering both now.
I can tell you, this point in my life, wow, is a new point I thought I would never ever be. I am so close to homeless that it isn't funny. I never thought we would be this close. We were laughing so hard earlier..what else can we do. Laughter is good to the soul and heart.
My heart is feeling the stress as it has been struggling the past several days. In fact, I think it has taken a slight decline or setback again. I am hoping it is just me being tired and over stressed a little. I will just have to wait and see tomorrow on how I feel. I am fighting a cold too so I am sure that has something to do with it too.
Well, in case I have no internet in morning, I will do my best and try to go to hotspot to connect, but it is what it is and I will be back online after this week.

I made it to the gym today. I decided to walk 3 miles on the treadmill which equals 3 miles on the boardwalk. Well, I did it and it took me 67 minutes. Not bad but it is too much for me right now. Mary, at the club, said "don't hurt heart, build upon it. She felt that I needed to cut it back too. The plan is to do 40 minutes on the treadmill 3-5 x week. After I am doing 40 minutes consistently with no issues, bump it to 60 minutes. I am to keep same speed, but once I am consistently comfortable with 60 minutes with the speed, we can bump up the speed.
Clean Eating - I decided to research some on Clean Eating. She was really heavy, about where I am at now. She was primarily my height too. Well our bodies are even shaped similar so I get encouraged by her progress that she has made and is still striving for. It gives me some hope. Anyways, she eats very clean. Ok, looking at her food chart, I eat pretty clean some of the time. She is way better about eating clean. I need to become better at clean eating. I decided to look up clean eating.
1. You basically removing sugar / processed foods from diet.
This means no sodas or sweeten drinks. Try water, herbal teas, even some of the flavor water is ok.
2. balance your carbs and proteins, adding in whole grains like brown rice or millet over processed grains.
Grill, broil or steam your meat.
Choose organic or grass fed meats whenever possible
3. Lots of fruits and veggies...choose fresh or flash frozen...say away from canned if possible. Avoid processed fruits and veggies.
4. Trade bad fats with healthy fats...avoid fast food...choose lean cut meets. Nuts and fish and Avocado are healthy fats.
5. Eat several meals to keep blood sugars balanced and to avoid overeating.
This is the basic synopsis of clean eating.
So tonight, I had a healthy salad loaded with veggies and 3 oz of grilled chicken. I am working on my water. I made myself a cup of hot lemon ginger herbal tea. No caffeine. Also, I sprinkled some ground ginger.
Also, I purchased some Probiotic that is suppose to help with digestion. I am going to give it a whirl as it is not cheap. I want to really see if it makes any kind of a difference.

October is coming to an end tonight, the night of Hallowed Eve. With this said, here are some questions to ask yourself and be HONEST!
Did you perform any tricks?
Did you eat any treats?
Did you get lots of children at your doorstep?
Did you exercise?
Did you drink your water?
Did you log your food?
How was your calorie intake for the day?
How was your sodium?
My answers - Did I perform any tricks? Yes, my mind tried to play all kinds of tricks on me today. It tried to trick me into skipping my workout. It tried to get me to eat more candy. It tried to get me to eat things of not healthy choices. This brings me to my next question.
Did I eat treats? YEP, but not very many and to answer the other question, I logged them...as embarrassing as it is or may seem, I logged it. I figured if I am going to eat it, I need to log it. Really, if it is going to embarrass me, then don't eat it, but whatever, don't hide it. If you are hiding it, you are only fooling yourself.
Did I exercise? Yep, I exercised. I wished I had done more exercise, but I did exercise at the gym.
How is the water? Working on it, nearly have my 8 completed.
How is my calorie intake? Good, below 1500
How is my sodium? Excellent, it is below 1500mg
I got very few children at my door. It is nearing 9:00 PM so I doubt that I will get anymore. This means I have nearly $27 of candy. My hubby better do a good job eating it. I wasn't even going to buy any, but he insisted....I know he probably has a sweet tooth going. He usually does.
I wanted the tricks to stop, so really, most of the tricks stopped because I said, fine, I am exercising, I am going to be low in sodium, I am going to eat some candy but extremely little because I have to log it in and wow, that can really throw me over the top. The more I have to log the more embarrassing so lets be sensible, so that is what I did. Oh, and by the way, I am drinking my water today. I took a water pill due to heart, and so I need to be feeding myself somewhat sensible and most definitely have to be good with the sodium.
I know, you all are probably extremely sick of hearing me talk about sodium. Sorry, but it is really bad stuff if over recommendations. It really shocks me at the recipes that people post for healthy recipes but really they are not as healthy as they should be. You can make your same wonderful recipes but with like 1/2 the sodium to even less, depending on how high it is. Wow, some are well over 1000 mg of sodium for just one meal. This would be ok if all you eat are veggies or you make sure your other two meals including snacks don't take you over 1500 or 2300 (being generous). Yes, I modify and am good at modifying the recipes.
Some things Sodium does for you:
-Retain Water....... Your bodies hold on way too much water
-Raises your blood pressure (tons of health issues with that and I know many of you are on meds or should be watching because borderline high BP)
-If you already have bad hearts or bad health, sodium makes it all the more worse.
I am sure I can find and so can you tons of reasons to avoid sodium.
Ok, just to clarify, we DO NEED Sodium, but all we need is 500mg and absolutely no more than 2300mg. If you are 2300mg or less in a day, you are doing awesome!
A normal healthy person should not consume more than 2300mg.
A not so healthy person should not consume more than 1500mg.
However, if healthy or unhealthy and you are consistently under 2300mg, you are doing great. Some think, wow, I probably don't even come close. Well, start tracking it in your food log and you will be surprised how quickly it adds up.
Couple of rules: Don't put a salt shaker on the table. Use spices that do not contain sodium. Garlic Pepper, or Lemon Pepper both awesome, but check the label on them to make sure no sodium i.e. salt in them. A lot of combo type spices have sodium. Try using new spices like ginger, sage, thyme, etc. Chopped onions are awesome flavoring too.
If you could feel the way I feel, know just how bad sodium is, you would take more care in watching your sodium. Don't let yourself get there.
Just some random thoughts or harping on the sodium. Sorry....I don't want you to end up at all having to feel like me.

Halloween is here, that Hallowed eve where the children come knocking at the doors, trick-or-treat looking for a handout of candy into their pumpkin containers. They are dressed in their goolish or fairy tale costumes, all so interesting. Some states are postponing this day to another day in the week due to weather. Wow, who would think? I was suppose to go trick-or-treating with my daughter but my hubby started getting sick, throwing up. I was going to go without him, but I have such a headache and now we don't know if it is because we are fighting something or if it is a reaction to my Crestor. One of the side affects is a headache.
I went to the gym. Yep! I did arm exercise (2) then I did sit up exercise, then 40 minutes on the treadmill. I am doing a 23 minute mile. I am getting closer to the 20 min. mile. I was doing a 15 min mile on my good days....ha ha ha...that may be a very long time away, but at least I am doing 23 minute mile consistently. I am now tired too, after exercise.
