3 strikes!

Monday, March 14, 2011

Well, I brought home some birthday cake for my boys when I went to my niece's birthday party over the weekend.

My youngest didn't want his piece. I pulled out a freezer bag so I could freeze it for another day when he wanted something sweet.

The buttercream icing stuck to my finger as I was trying to place it in the bag. I licked it off my finger. (strike #1)

I took a small bite of the cake. (strike #2) YUM!

I took the cake out of the bag and ate the whole piece! (strike #3)

Don't cha wish there was a panic button you could carry around with you so that someone could scream, "Stop!". Nice to know that others struggle with the same thing I do. :)

I read your blog and had to laugh as I am like that with icing once I try it I can't stop. But a long time ago I went to someones birthday party and as the lady was blowing out the cake a friend of mine said I don't know how anyone could eat birthday cake after someone blowing all over it and spit goes all over it, since that day I haven't been able to eat any birthday cake but that is just me I get turned of food easy. emoticon

Chuck E Cheese

Sunday, March 13, 2011

I went to my niece's birthday party at Chuck e cheese. Yay! Chucky has pizza and I don't have to pay for it!

I started off strong. I had a salad with fat-free catalina dressing and unsweetened iced tea. I printed out the nutritional value of their pizza and brought it with me so I will hold myself accountable for each slice I ate. I put in the info on the points plus calculator and points per slice was only 5. Not bad. I saved 15 points earlier in the day so I can indulge in 3 slices.

I ate them and I wasn't as excited as I used to be. I could have done without 3. Then they brought out a hot pepperoni pizza and sat it in front of me. So I'm talking with the grown-ups and everyone reached for a slice. Hmmm... but I already had my 3 allotted slices.

So do you think I ate another? Wait for it..... YES! What the heck. I grabbed another slice like the greedy person I am. And I didn't even want it!

Wow old habits die hard. emoticon

Small loss better than no loss

Saturday, March 12, 2011

Well, I had my WW weigh-in this morning and I lost 0.8 lbs. However I don't feel all woo-hoo-ish about it.

I felt like I exercised. A lot. I guess I have to go over my food journal and tweak some things. I'll assume I ate too many carbs.

I don't usually do the gym on the weekends, but right after my weigh-in, I hit the track and the elliptical.

Next week will be better. But I guess a small loss is better than no loss...

emoticon on your loss! Even if it's a small loss, it adds up! A loss is definitely better than a gain for sure! Definitely look at your journal and see what you can do different in the coming week and what changes you can make. It's all about you! emoticon

Don't let it get you down...one week I hardly lost anything and I was eating right and working out the next week I still ate right but didn't really work out much and I lost 3 or more pounds that week. I think it just takes awhile for the weight loss to catch up or something. Best wishes!!!!

Actually, a small loss is better than a small gain.

You may have reached a plateau is all. You can do it!

Tossin' n turnin'

Saturday, March 12, 2011

I've been up since 4:30am. I tossed and turned for an hour before I decided to just give up and get out of bed.

I have a WW weigh-in this morning and of course I'm kind of anxious about it. It's pitiful that a scale has that kind of effect on a person.

I put in some good workout time this past week but I could have made better food choices. I'm not getting in the amount of fruits and veggies that are recommended.

I also need to drink milk. The only problem with that is I can't swallow milk without cake, cookies or pancakes. What a dilemma... emoticon

Hiya, when I can't sleep my new technique is to tell myself I am happy about it, as it gives me time to read.
I then never read for more than ten minutes before I am falling asleep again.
The trick is that you must convince yourself that you are really happy not to be able to sleep as it gives you some extra reading time. If this is not genuine it will not work.
Maybe I am just crazy but this works for me.

good luck

Jim

Diet scale

Friday, March 11, 2011

I finally added a food scale to my kitchen. Now I can measure what a real 3oz piece of meat is.

I'm sure my version is off by more than a few ounces. emoticon

I am looking to get a diet scale, too. I kind of think my idea of a portion probably weighs more than it should. emoticon
