Over 10 years ago, this was me. I love to be one with nature. I grew up on the Jersey Shore and my mornings were spent quietly watching the sunrise on the beach. Then after the sunrise a brisk walk along the shore was the only way to return home.
New Jersey is the garden state. We are known for our farms filled with pick your own fresh fruits and veggies.
Life was simple.
Along the way life started to shift and started to kick my butt and my simple life started to take the back seat to my "fight or flight" mentality. I guess I chose to take flight because I moved away from all that was routine to me. I needed a change. I moved about an hour away from the shore but I'm still in Jersey and I'm still surrounded by vast farmland. I've exchanged the shore for parks and streams. Still beautiful, but no way am I going to sit in the park to watch the sunrise. There are too many other wildlife there trying to do the same.
Now I have to figure out a way to get back to my simple life and things that I enjoy. Especially my mornings. They are the key to the rest of my day.
When I decided to move away from the shore 10 years ago, I didn't take into account the importance of my morning ritual that started at sunrise on the beach.
