What a deceivingly wonderful day for a hike!
My good friend and I both found ourselves minus our husbands this fathers day, so we said that Sunday would be a good day for a hike and a good day it was. We started from the liberty cap trail-head on the outside of Colorado national monument (if your a local and are wondering... it's off Broadway then fallow wildwood til you see the sings for the trail-head ). being as we were accompanied by 3 three year olds ( she has twins ) we really did not expect to actually make it to the monument. even though we also had her very helpful 12 year old step son with us we knew better than to shoot for the stars. our only goal was to have a good time. the light breeze and the over cast sky were absolutely heaven sent for a number of reasons 1, toddlers over heat easy. 2, adults carrying toddlers over heat even easier. 3, makes for grate photography! The kids did better then we thought, we did have to carry them for a few minutes here and there but over all they were troopers. They were even getting a bit of admiration form some fellow hikers. While we did not make it even half way though the 2mil hike, we may have cleared 1 mile. we did accomplish our goal, we had fun! oh and got to see these guys! I know I didn't get any shots of the actual hike and trail, I will next time I promises but believe me it was gorgeous!!
