All or nothing mentality!

I have 3 weeks left until my 2nd Vacation of the year and then a few weeks later I'm going on another one and then a few weeks later I'm going on my last vacation of the year and before I know it the year will be over and I will either have gained weight, maintained weight or lost weight! I would really like that it be the lost weight option but, in order for that to happen I need to start using my all or nothing mentality and hope that the "All" wins. I'm exercising so that's not the problem I just have to many excuses to eat this or eat that or pick at this or pick at that and apparently the 21,171 average steps that I take each day is only enough to keep me maintaining. So I have two choices ... I can either exercise more or I can track my food and stay within my ranges! I want to do it but, I need to come up with a plan. emoticon

    Do you have the sparkpeople app on your smartphone? I find its very helpful at tracking when I don't have time to sit down at the computer, my phone is always with me.

    I have the same problem, without the vacations though. But I track my food. I've been getting by with eating what I want just not a lot of it. That's not working for me anymore. I guess I have to really adjust my diet. emoticon emoticon

    Tracking helps regardless of your calories, because you start making better choices. I recently got good advice - you can't out exercise a bad diet.

My BMI has dropped from a 40.5 to a 31.4 over the last 3 years! emoticon

My goal for next year is:

LDL Cholesterol 111
Blood Glucose 87
Body Mass index 36.6 Well I'm down another 2.6 % this year. =)

2012

Blood pressure 120/84

Body Mass Index 39.2 Well I'm down 1.3% from last year anyways!

Jogging

I'm not sure how this happened but, I LOVE jogging emoticon I've tried it many times before over the years and swore I would never enjoy it but, all of the sudden I DO! All last year I read blog after blog of JESSIHOVER2 and everyday she would talk about how much she liked to run....I would find myself rolling my eyes thinking yeah right I would never enjoy running / jogging....and here I am finding myself wanting to jog.....so much that I am trying to figure out ways to fit more jogging time in my schedule. Right now I jog every Tuesday and Thursday and some / most Wednesdays....I'm thinking of adding Evening jogs to Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Now I just need Fruityful to "subconsciously" brain wash me to enjoy bike riding.....we live in Utah so there are not a lot of bike paths here but, we do have one right off of the Legacy Highway that my husband recently expressed an interest in taking Sunday family bike rides on...... emoticon maybe I could just chase his bike emoticon

    emoticon I want to start jogging too. First, I have to find the strength to bring a change of clothes to work. I just got my husband to walking again so I know he won't be trying to jog, so I will have to do it at work. Although we have jogged before. Just maybe...

    Be careful jogging at nite, people can't see you, or you could get attacked, or get run over. This happened to a friend of mine. It was by a teacher in a park. He was high on drugs, and just drove off. Luckily someone had a cell phone and followed him. When the police came, they told him that he had murdered someone . His reply was that he thought he had hit a squirrel! I'm sure? Remember, No place is safe.

Summer months

Summer is the hardest time of the year for me to diet.....every year I work hard all Winter just to gain it all back and then some during the Summer....BUT not this year 10 weeks ago I weighed in at 181.2 and TEN week later I am at 182.0 ... it's been a lot of ups and downs and I'm not where I want to be and yet I feel proud!!

Two more weeks of Summer emoticon .

Time to start getting my weight loss going down again I'm only 52 pounds away from my goal emoticon emoticon

    If summer is your difficult season to lose weight, you have to feel proud of how well you have done. Keep doing the right things and the weight loss will happen.
